  • "Me, my wife and our 2 dogs (Poppy & Bradley) spent a week at Jolls cottage in November."

We had an absolutely amazing week, this cottage is clean and spacious, and has everything you could possibly need, the cupboards and drawers had every pot, pan and utensil that you need in a kitchen, the coffee maker and Nespresso pods was a nice touch along with the welcome gifts on arrival. The garden is huge and secure and well lit at night. Unfortunately, we had snow whilst we were there and although it looked extra beautiful it did restrict the use of the patio area and the hot tub although the hot tub looked very warm and welcoming, we also didn't make use of the garden room but again it had so many books, CDs and board games and a dart board which would be enough to keep any family happy for a week. The 2 log burners (Kitchen/Diner & Living room) were nice on the cold snowy evenings. There was so much around the area to see and do and plenty of cafes and pubs if you want to eat out and although the cottage is off the beaten track, you are not far from the main roads to Horncastle and Skegness. Having stayed at many cottages throughout the uk, Jolls is definitely up there as one of the best we have stayed at.

  • "The property was beautiful, lovely and clean."

There was everything we needed, it was like going from home to home. Made plenty of use of all the board games and the hot tub. We took our 2 dogs and they settled really well and loved running in the garden. Very safe and secure so was no worries about them escaping. Great communication with the owner too. Thank you

  • "We highly recommend Jolls Cottage for families with dogs and young children."

The location is in a lovely quiet and idilic Hamlet location and the cottage has a lovely old cottage feel to it which is decorated and furnished tastefully, also well stocked and has bedrooms and living space which is are very comfortable. The garden has plenty of space for our dogs and although we did not use it has a great addition which is a well stocked playhouse. Overall we had a most enjoyable holiday and would highly recommend this cottage to other families.

  • "Nice cottage for the summer."

Heating went off early evening spent £50.00 on logs . Hot tub wasn’t serviced or it must of leaked as it wasn’t full and not all the lights in the garden worked. The bed upstairs was very uncomfortable kept rolling into the middle. Kitchen was well equipped but the cleaner needs to do a better job cut a lot of corners. The 5pm check in is a bit late for winter time as it’s pitch black . Some of the bedroom lamps had no bulbs and when it came to hoover it was full and we couldn’t empty it . Over all I think the owners should check more thoroughly

Dear David I wish you had called me with these issues as they can all be quickly resolved. We take a lot of pride in Jolls and our guests normally love their stay. It does upset me that your stay wasn’t of the level I/you had expected. As I mentioned during your stay we stopped using coal and opted for wood only which is cleaner. As you know we provide a complimentary bag of logs to get you going. I have been to the cottage following your stay and checked the heating which is working properly. The heating is only 12 months old and operates on a Hive system which can be fully controlled by you from the portable thermostat provided. It is set to a morning and evening schedule but can be manually turned on/off and increased by you. I have checked the hot tub as that was only recently serviced. Thankfully there isn’t a leak. We do mention in the Welcome Pack to refill the tub if it falls below the headrest after prolonged use. The garden lights are being replaced following the flooding but there is still plenty of lighting from the 2 floodlights at the rear of the property. What people love about Jolls is its position, its peaceful and tranquil location. You don’t hear traffic and there are no street lamps on the lane which at night provides the perfect night sky views! There are motion sensors that will turn on lights to help unload plus once inside the cottage torches if required. Thank you for your other comments which I will pass on to the team. Will have a look at the king size linked bed to ensure it has been properly linked. Thank you David Property Owner

  • "We loved Joll's cottage, but we are five siblings aged between 69 and 75, and we didn't realise how difficult the stairs would be."

(I opted to sleep on the sofa, which was very comfortable!) The cottage was the best equipped of all the cottages we have stayed in, and the garden is really lovely. Unfortunately we were not able to take full advantage of the garden, summerhouse and hot tub, because we were in Lincolnshire to meet up with our eldest sister who lives at Ashby by Partney. However, I would recommend it to anyone a little younger!

Thank you for your lovely feedback about Jolls Cottage, we’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay with your family. We do understand your comments about the stairs and we have noted this on the listing for consideration by any future guests. Thanks so much for your kind comments and positive recommendation, we take pride in ensuring our cottage is well equipped so it’s great to hear you found everything you needed during your stay. • "Lovely property in a really good location."

The views from the front door were amazing and is in an excellent location for visiting what Lincolnshire has to offer. The house was well appointed and with a very comfortable cosy feel. Beds were a little short but its hard to judge as we are so tall. The hot tub is an excellent addition in a lovely garden. My biggest criticism is that the strong smell of dog in the lounge. We did not go with dogs but not enough was done to prevent the house from retaining the smell. There were throws on the sofas that smelt very bad and we are unaware if they have been cleaned or were necessary for a dog free family.

Thank you Matthew for your comments. I will address your comments regarding the smell of dogs. As you can see from previous reviews the place normally gets a very good clean bill of health when is comes to cleanliness. So for me this is very disappointing and will be addressed immediately. Thank you for your other ore positive comments. Regards David Property Owner

  • "What can we say about Jolls that hasn't already been said by others?"

The cottage is the perfect marriage of old and new and boasts a charming air of years gone by. The location is perfect for a trip to the beach or a wander through the woods with plenty to see and do for humans and dogs alike. The fabulous (safe and enclosed) garden gave our dogs hours of fun even though the weather wasn't particularly kind. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need including the easiest cooker we've ever used in a holiday let! The living room is very cosy but we did keep setting the fire alarm off with the real fire so learnt not to over stack it! The stairs to the lovely two bedrooms upstairs are very narrow and steep which is pointed out before booking, so maybe best to stick the kids upstairs and not granny. The outside man cave is a lovely addition and we watched the football in there on the first night. I have no problem recommending Jolls and will most certainly be returning when the weather is a little kinder!
