"Ash cottage was just perfect."

We had two amazing weeks there and will definitely be returning to continue to explore this beautiful part of Wales. Les and Lesley were always on hand to check everything was OK. Our stay was home from home in the sense that the cottage was perfectly equipped and very welcoming and comfortable. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch too. We had a couple of wet weather days so the washing machine, tumble dryer and drying room were an additional bonus. Thank you to Les and Lesley. We agreed that our two weeks at Ash cottage was a favourite holiday and we felt relaxed and refreshed. The cottage was just perfect for us and all facilities were excellent.

Well situated for Cardigan Bay/NewQuay area with nice local villages and pubs to visit. Les and Leslie were great hosts too.

"Ash cottage was absolutely amazing."

It was like home from home, very clean, very cosy. It had the’WOW’ factor as soon as you walked through the door. The location was also amazing, could not fault it at all and will definitely be going back at some point next year. The property owners Lesley and Les were very approachable and nothing was too much trouble, and very knowledgeable of the surrounding areas and best places to visit

The location is perfect for a relaxing holiday and all beaches accessible within a short travel time. Newcastle Emlyn is a 10 min drive. Would totally recommend and will definitely return.

"We were warmly met by the owners who had left a lovely welcome hamper for us."

The cottage was meticulously clean and every comfort was provided including lovely fluffy gowns! There were plenty of books and games to keep us occupied when it rained. It would be nice to have some sort of shelter and fairy lights by the hot tub so we could use it in really bad weather.

"The weather was not the best during our stay but was always a pleasure to go back to the comfort of the cottage."

The welcome basket was an added extra, but most of all how clean the property was, comfortable beds and wonderful settee! The hosts were very accommodating and nothing too much trouble. Fab walks directly from the cottage all fantastically detailed within the brochure! Will definitely be back, lovely!

"Beautiful cottage so well equipped with every possible need."

Even a steamer which we prefer to use. Good quality bedding and towels. The welcome pack was so useful seeing you over till you can do a shop. Cottage so warm and comfortable. Every thing was just that bit more luxurious. Would go again.

"Everything we could have wished for and more, A peaceful and quiet location, only 20-30 minute drive from the coast, Cardigan, New quay, Aberearon etc, some fantastic little beaches too."

Lots to do everyday and cottage was so wonderful we looked forward to going back there after a busy day, hot tub was fabulous. Everything is so clean and every detail and item thought of.

"We had a lovely week staying at Ash Cottage, the owners were very friendly and helpful."

The hot tub was fantastic and just what we wanted at the end of a day walking, exploring the beaches. A garden to play with the kids was all that was missing, but the WiFi was good so that kept them happy! We found loads to do, and were blessed with excellent weather. Nearby Newcastle Emlyn is a great little town, plenty of eateries, a good antiques place and a small supermarket.

"We were met on our arrival at Ash cottage and were made to feel welcome right away."

Throughout the week long stay, because the close proximity of the cottage owner's home we were usually in daily contact with them and passed the time of day discussing various topics. The cottage was clean,tidy and very warm,the addition of the welcome pack was an extra touch to make you feel more welcome, the hot tub was also nice to relax in on return from our days out and about. The whole experience because of this made the holiday more like we were staying with friends instead of owners and guests. A perfect relaxing holiday.

"Peaceful and tranquil sums up our weekend away and just what we needed."

The owners were great and left us in peace but we knew they were there if needed. The cottage and facilities were excellent and there was nothing lacking. The welcome pack was really appreciated. "The location and quietness surrounded by beautiful countryside, not too far from the beaches and the National Trust cliff walks Wales is a very much underrated holiday destination, but I think the public are coming to the conclusion that with its wonderful beaches, rocky coves, fantastic cliff walks, well maintained roads and cheaper rates for admission charges/tickets etc."

"Our cottage was beautifully presented, We were welcomed by the hosts on arrival, Les and Lesley are lovely people who made sure we had everything we needed before leaving us to enjoy our break."

There was a welcome pack waiting for us. This contained everything we needed to get us started and was a lovely thought. We booked Ash Cottage because we wanted a hot tub and this did not disappoint. The tub was great, clean and well looked after. I would highly recommend Sykes based on the experience we just had.

Ash Cottage - A cut mid-terrace cottage with a private enclosed seating area and hot tub, perfect to sit with an early morning cup of coffee or relax and look at the stars.

Blaenwenllan Cottages

Newcastle Emlyn 3.5 miles. A trio of lovingly renovated cottages in a former barn providing intimate and welcoming accommodation. Set alongside the owners' home surrounded by the beautiful West Wales countryside, these cottages are close to the pretty riverside market town of Newcastle Emlyn, yet a short drive from the fabulous sandy beaches, craggy coves and quaint harbourside villages of Cardigan Bay. The cottages have been furnished with style and comfort in mind, each retaining an individual personality. This small terrace of three cosy cottages are furnished to make you feel at home, perfect to relax in with open plan interiors with well-equipped kitchens, dining areas and comfy seating to put your feet up in front of the electric fire after a day making the most of the fabulous local countryside. Also all three holiday homes have TVs, DVDs and WiFi, and use of a laundry room with a drying cupboard that's ideal for wet coats and boots. These rural cottages are nestled in the undulating Ceredigion countryside, perfect to explore a myriad of landscapes from beautiful woodlands, sandy beaches, rocky coves, walking the ever changing coastal path or visit pretty little villages such as Cenarth, with its fabulous waterfalls and leaping salmon, and they have been awarded Cyclists and Walkers Welcome certificates. Alternatively 16 miles away is the start of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, with the iconic blue stones of the Preselli Hills, as well as the renowned coastal parkland. The coast is a short drive away with the stunning sands of the National Trust's Penbryn beach just 7 miles away. Why not visit one of the quaint seaside villages, such as Llangrannog, Tresaith or maybe you will be lucky enough to see the seals and their pups on the little inlet cove of Cwmtydu? A little further up the coast takes you to the traditional seaside harbour town of New Quay, an ideal spot for dolphin spotting opportunities; they can often be seen from the harbour wall or alternatively take a wildlife watching boat trip. The popular harbour town of Aberaeron is 16 miles away, a lovely place to while away a few hours, anytime of the year, with fabulous restaurants and the nearby National Trust's working estate of Llanerchaeron. There are various outdoor activities with fabulous fishing rivers passing through Newcastle Emlyn, canoeing in nearby Llandysul, watersports and wildlife watching boat trips and nearby Brechfa Forest opens up fantastic cycling trails. A perfect trio of West Wales cottages, an ideal base for couples, small families or groups looking to enjoy the undulating local countryside and explore quaint rural villages, whilst being a short drive from the sweeping sandy beaches and breathtakingly beautiful coastline of Cardigan Bay.

The bustling market town of Newcastle Emlyn is set on the River Teifi and offers an array of shops, both unique local producers and larger chain stores, such as designer clothes, crafts and jewellery, antiques, tea rooms, pubs, restaurants and a ruined castle, plus fishing permits are available nearby. Surrounding Newcastle Emlyn is beautiful countryside, whilst the rugged Cardiganshire coastline is just six miles away, where you have the opportunity to visit Cardigan Island Farm Park, wonderful sandy beaches, or take a boat trip to spot dolphins and seals at New Quay. Within driving distance is the town of Carmarthen, Dylan Thomas' Boat House in Laugharne, Cenarth Falls, paintballing, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, Oakwood Theme Park and train rides at Henllan, along with an array of castles, mills and craft centres.
