  • "So glad we booked here."

Perfect for two. Short walk down for breakfast on the beach watching seals and dolphins chasing the fish. Or sitting under the cover outside the kitchen with the beach view. Silence except for the birds and sea if it's wavey enough. Very private even with the cottage next door and nothing from the small private caravan site near by. Best recommendation is we will be back again. First time at this part of Welsh coast and it is amazing with cliffs, walks, beaches and rest /food stops!

Thank you. Your lovely comments summarise much of what we enjoy when we stay. We look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

  • "A very tasteful and well executed barn conversion."

Cosy and spacious with great shower rooms. Underfloor heating a real bonus to take the edge off the Autumn evenings. A huge highlight is the views from the property windows over wooded hills and out to sea. The beach is practically on the doorstep and surprisingly very quiet for such a beautiful place. The views from the surrounding cliff walks are a must.

Thank you. The underfloor heating powered by the air source heat pump works well but a couple of logs in the wood stove keeps the Barn really toasty. Property Owner

Super clean and detailed in its renovation, loved our time there. Very detailed house info book , thank you. Only improvement is a few more kitchen essentials, we like to cook the wonderful local produce, so a few roasting tins / sheets maybe? Hope to be back soon!

Thank you for your kind comments. Details of organic vegetable boxes from the farm on the other side of our valley and the local butchers are in our welcome letter. Much of the ovenware has been moved and will be replaced this week-end. Property Owner

  • "The Barn was very well equipped and beautifully decorated."

We took our dog Lilly with us and she loved the garden and the 4 minute walk to the beach. The location was very peaceful just what we wanted The only slight negative I have is the Barn could be more dog secure from the Cottage next door by by adding a gate or fence on the heat pump side of the Barn but this didn’t detract from the wonderful week we had at Dolwylan Barn recommend it to anybody wanting a relaxing stay it is absolutely stunning

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and the peace and quiet. We will leave something that can be used to block the small gap you mention and keep dogs away from the Cottage lawn Property Owner

  • "A lovely property of a very high standard."

It was well-equipped, spacious yet cosy. Its location was perfect. So near to the coastal path, we enjoyed many stunning walks from the door. The sunsets over the sea were gorgeous and you could see these from the garden or the rear windows. It is in a very peaceful setting but right next to another property and a small mobile home park (a small field away). You could not see or hear the mobile home park once you are at the property but you notice it on the track approaching the property. This was a bit of a surprise for us on arrival, but did not affect our enjoyment of the property at all. We did struggle with the underfloor heating, but that’s probably because we are not used to it. We would highly recommend this property if you enjoy coastal walks and peace and quiet.

Thank you for your lovely comments. Underfloor heating can take some getting used to but hopefully you found the cosy wood stove easy to use as a top up. The detached cottage nearby is our small traditional Welsh farmhouse that is also occasionally let. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

We fell in love with it before we opened the door. It has everything you need for a short break or a full holiday. The only thing we found missing was either a clothes airer or a small washing line would of been great. Have already recommended to family and friends.

Claire, Thank you for your review of the Barn. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The clothes dryer is stored under the stairs but you managed with chairs and the large'drying area' under the porch. We plan to put up an extendable washing line which will be easier for guests to find and to use, and look forward to welcoming you back, with family and friends. Property Owner

Heaven for dog(s) with coastal path, woodland walks, rivers, streams and waterfalls. Once you arrive, no real need to take your car out again, except for provisions or exploring further afield. Very impressed with heat pump, underfloor heating and top quality Welsh wool mattress and duvet, and proper bed linen to aid deep sleep after hikes along the coast. Truly peaceful. Owners' welcome pack and detailed information much appreciated too.

  • "Stunning, just stunning."

Everything about this cottage was just perfect. The attention to every detail was amazing. The loveliest thing that really touched me was the provision of a dog bed and bowl for the dog, just so thoughtful. The bed was so comfortable and the linen was crisp and cool. The sofa is comfortable and the living room is cool (we had a warm week) yet homely and cosy, it went a bit cooler on our last night so we had an excuse to light the fire, it was just wonderful watching the flames and chilling on the sofa. The showers (both of them) are amazing. The kitchen is lovely, airy and extremely well stocked for everything you need to cook. We had planned to eat out a few times and eat in the rest of the time, if you do the same I would advise you to bring food with you as the nearest shop of any size is a little way away. There was a really nice welcome pack waiting for us when we arrived. Now to the location. Wow, wow, wow. You can see the sea from the living room window. The garden is very natural and my dog loved it and claimed it as her own. There’ are rabbits on what will be the lawn when it is grown which is lovely to see. It is very quiet here and you can’t see let alone hear anything from the neighbouring caravan site. The walk to the lovely little beach takes a couple of minutes and there is a cafe down there. The sunsets are spectacular from the sofa in the living room. The lanes getting down here are very narrow but you soon get used to them. Lots of little beaches, villages and towns nearby. If you decide to come here then I promise you that you will not be disappointed. We definitely plan to return.

If you love to walk, then the area is walkers paradise, our dog Wilf had a wonderful time,as we did.A local bus operates so you can walk one way then get the bus back, which is much appreciated after a long walk.We are in our 70’s,the coast path is challenging in places, but the views and scenery are well worth the challenge. • "This is an amazing cottage!"

A perfect location for walking the coastal path and relaxing far away from the crowds. It’s located approximately 5 minutes from the small bay, There’s lots of lovely responsibly sourced branded personal and cleaning products. So often there’s insufficient of these in rental accommodation that I’ve learned to take a pack with me. There’s a lovely welcome pack with a small carton of milk, bread and Welsh cakes, as well as a few basics for cooking eg cooking oil, pasta and seasonings. The welcome file is very detailed and informative. There’s A small washing machine which is very useful. The kitchen has been very well thought through, spacious, both bathrooms are lovely. The bed is very comfortable. Again, so many places don’t get the beds right. The garden outside is a work in progress, as it would be for any brand new property, however the wildlife is amazing. Lots of rabbits and wonderful birds to listen to. There is a mobile caravan park/mobile home just below, but you’d never know it, it’s been so quiet even during the end of May 1/2 term/platinum Jubilee celebrations. My personal recommendation is to bring with you a few days meals and food basics, as there’s no where immediately available to purchase these items. There’s a lovely ice-cream parlour about 10 minutes walk down the hill, near to the beach. It’s been so good, I’ve booked to come back in October 2022!

Thank you for your comments.and we look forward to welcoming you back later in the year. The garden continues to bed in and we have added directions in the welcome letter to the nearest grocer/supermarket/ATM/off-licence which we thoroughly recommend Property Owner
