• "A Lovely clean, comfy cottage."

  Elaine and Glynn made us feel very welcome , as were the cakes made by Elaine. Just what we needed after a stressful journey. We were delighted to meet the Pygmy goats , the 2 cats and Nell the dog. The area was so peaceful, hardly any traffic. New Quay is a pleasant drive away , with cafes , a good car park and Dolphins. The nature reserve Cors Caron is certainly worth a visit. We felt comfortable and at ease at Y Cwtch.

• "We loved our stay here, Elaine and Glenn are so lovely, friendly and down to earth, we were greeted by them as we arrived and we’re also made home made cakes which went down a treat!"

  The cottage itself was spotless with everything needed and more we were pleasantly surprised by the lovely gardens also, we visited aberaeron and Newquay which were roughly half hour from the cottage, we had a fabulous time for my fathers 70th and we are already hoping to return in the near future. Thank you both, highly recommend :)

• "The cottage was lovely and the owners were so friendly."

  From start to finish they made you feel welcome. Freshly made cakes were left for you and they checked if you had any allergies. Their dog was well behaved and friendly. The pygmy goats were cute. I would highly recommend a stay here and we are thinking of going back again.

  Beautiful setting and very peaceful place. Cottage very well equipped and had everything you need for a stay. Beds very comfortable. Owners were very welcoming and friendly and helpful. They were available any time you needed them but not intrusive in any way. Lovely couple and they obviously have a passion for what they do. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

  The owners, Elaine and Glenn are lovely, friendly people. Loved the pygmy goats and Nell, the family dog was friendly too.. Elaine had provided us with milk and tasty homemade cakes on our arrival. It's a lovely area and near to the coast and so we found places to visit every day. Would recommend to anyone who wishes to explore this beautiful part of Wales.

• "What a lovely time we had here, thanks to Elaine and Glenn."

  The accommodation was beautiful, clean and with everything you could need. We were greeted with lovely homemade cakes, which we really appreciated and thought the Welsh Cakes were just the best! The area is simply stunning and only a short car ride away to reach other lovely little towns and the seaside. We were out and about every day and went to Cardigan Island (stunning), Aberystwyth to get the steam train to Devil's Bridge and Aberaeron, where we found an amazing fish and chips shop! Ideal place for walks and enjoying the countryside and wildlife. The best part for me was seeing the Red Kites gliding around, practically all the time, just wonderful. Thank you so much Elaine and Glenn, we will return xx

• "Absolutely fantastic holiday."

  The cottage was so comfortable, home from home feeling. Beds were comfy, kitchen had everything you could possibly need, lounge and bathroom just A1. Perfect holiday cottage for dogs too, with the enclosed garden. Elaine and Glenn were so welcoming and nothing was any problem to them. Cake, milk, tea and coffee on arrival was fab, after a long drive due to the coronation bank holiday traffic. Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting and lovely owners. What more is needed. Thank you Elaine and Glenn for being so welcoming and sharing such a beautiful place to holiday.... Can't wait to stay again soon.

• "Elaine and Glen were just lovely, they both greeted us with a smile."

  Elaine showed us around the cottage, it was spotlessly clean and had everything in it that you could possibly need. I have to say that the bed was really comfortable. The first morning when we went out Elaine popped her head out of her door to ask if we had a good night and did we need anything, we really appreciated this. Also the cakes were lovely.   Cottage is bigger than it looks. Spotlessly clean, freshly baked cakes and provisions on arrival. Elaine and Glen were the perfect hosts, and very very helpful when we had trouble with our car. Lovely to see all the animals and bob the dog what a softy. We would recommend it to everyone. David and Jean.

• "This was one of our favourite all time holidays."

  Glenn and Elaine are wonderful hosts, they are happy to help with advice on places to visit and by the time we left they felt like family.Bob became our dogs friend and Charlie would wander around their garden with him following on. Loved the goats and we watched the young lambs being bottle fed. Everything you need is provided and the cakes on arrival were lovely.Elaine makes lovely pies and jams that are a treat. The back garden is safe and secure for your dog or children. We enjoyed sitting in the front garden too whilst listening to all the country sounds. We will definitely be back as there are loads of places to visit and not enough time to do everything. Until the next time ............ Dave, Anne and Charlie

• "Owners extremely friendly and hospitable."

  Cottage comfy, attractive and more spacious than the photos indicated. Plenty of room for cases bags, dog equipment etc. Owners on site willing to help with anything required. Only downside was poor Internet connection.

  If you like somewhere which feels like your visiting family, you feel welcomed throughout, and you have the feeling of safe, warm, cosy then book this place. Elaine, Glen & their amazing familars (cats), goats are all to benefit for this lovely welcoming cottage. From the moment you turn the key in the beauiful red door its like walking into another home. If you love quirky like we do, want to be close to walks, antiques shops, small villages and want to embrace that family welcome place to stay book. Elaine and Glen are wonderful and we cannot wait to book again.

• "Elaine and Glenn were the most welcoming hosts,providing us with lots of info and advice of the local area, or just having a chit chat on a daily basis."

  They were brilliant with our girls, letting them help feed the goats, and walk them too. The cottage was perfect, and really cosy for the four of us, with our dogs too, and has all you need to relax each evening after a busy day exploring the Welsh Coast. There was even a welcome addition of some home-baked cakes on our arrival which were delish. Y Cwtch is in a perfect location 25miles from Cardigan and Aberystwyth by car and 15 miles from New Quay, with plenty of other National Trust attractions near by, such as Dolaucothi Gold Mines, and Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre, near Aberystwyth is well worth a visit to see the hundreds of red kites feed. Thanks Elaine and Glenn, you and the goats were fab.

  Truly a place to 'get away from it all' and have some time to relax. Elaine and Glenn are lovely people who have created an amazing smallholding and unique way of life. They were so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them if you require assistance or advice about the local area. They are always available if you need them but they never intrude. They welcome you to share their garden if you choose but they have also created an idyllic private garden for guests with quality garden furniture and a barbeque. Elaine's homemade cakes greet you on arrival and they are truly sublime ! As well as being suitable for couples and small families, I would highly recommend Y Cwtch for the solo traveller. If you want some time to yourself, this is the perfect spot. It's so quiet and well away from the crowds but with the security of having Elaine and Glenn nearby if needed.

  We were welcomed with home made cakes and milk to make a brew after our journey to get there. They gave us lots of information on places to see and things to do. The dogs loved the freedom of the garden, and they let them use one of their fields to exercise them too. The cottage was lovely and all we had to get was food, everything else was supplied. Would highly recommend this cottage in its peaceful location.

• "Such a quiet quaint cottage in the middle of nowhere."

  Loved not hearing cars go past and only the sounds of the countryside and nature. No noise or light pollution. Nice to see the stars again. Would recommend to anyone who wants to get away from civilisation for a bit. Elaine and Glenn were perfect hosts. Thanks for the welcome cake too. We all loved them.

  The cottage itself was beautiful and had everything we needed in it. It was the first time we had been away with the dogs and our little girl and I was worried about whether it would be safe for all of them but we could not have asked for anything better. The owners gave us lovely suggestions of walks we could do with the dogs and of a run that my partner could do. The garden was perfect for the dogs to go in and was still safe enough for our little girl to move around in as well. The cottage was so clean and there was an extra bonus of milk in the fridge and a cake on arrival. The extra entertainment of the owners sheep and goats was an added bonus for all of us. We all had such a lovely time exploring all the local area where there is so much to do without having to go very far at all.

• "We booked this holiday as part of a two week break to Wales and this was our first time to South West Wales."

  We were looking for restful "get away from it all" break and this cottage delivered in spades. The peace & quiet plus the stunning scenery was really enjoyable and our hosts who live on site next door, Elaine & Glen were super helpful and friendly from the warm initial welcome & home made goodies to the bag of home grown veggies from the garden. The cottage is up a narrow country lane that forms a circular route that we found a great running route (4 miles hilly !). The cottage has everything you would want and has the bonus of almost zero mobile phone signal (Sky & O2) and patchy WiFi so don't come here expecting to run your internet business ! 4G signal is ok in surrounding area if you must ! The cottage is situated approx 15 miles from the coast ( nearest Newquay & Aberearon) with stunning beaches and coastal scenery / walking within easy reach. Don't expect to achieve motorway speeds on these roads, nothing is straight & lots of it is narrow plus the place names will leave you thinking you have dropped the Scrabble letter bag & lost all the vowels ! Our fave places were Cardigan, the Teifi Estuary, especially Dogmael & Poppit Sands, Newport ( between Cardigan and Fishguard) all easily reached within 45mins drive. Nearest supermarkets are Sainsbury ( Lampeter), Tesco (Fuel & Food) & Aldi ( Cardigan). We had the best of times here and can't recommend it enough if you are looking for a restful break in glorious countryside with stunning night skies & silence you can hear - and its very dog friendly. Thanks to Elaine & Glen for a great week :)
