  • "I had a wonderful holiday."

The cottage was beyond my expectations. The views were spectacular as were the sunsets. I was in a peaceful setting which was exactly what I wanted. The beaches were really close by, were clean and great for walks. There was plenty nearby to do however, I enjoyed time in the cottage as well as visiting a few local places. I had the best holiday and would most definitely go back and stay in Y Becws

  • "From a warm welcome including Welsh cakes and wine we enjoyed a peaceful comfortable stay."

The cottage was well equipped and the sheltered patio was a great spot to enjoy the sea views and evening sunsets.Despite being on a working farm and quite close to a small caravan we still felt we had our own quiet private space. Y Becws is ideally situated to reach Barmouth the Mawldach trail Shell island Harlech and a choice of other beaches and mountains too. The only reservation l would give is the nature of the farm track would definitely not suit a low vehicle.

So quiet and peaceful with just the birds for company. Everything catered for to a very high standard. Very comfortable bed, much needed after the very long walks on the fabulous, endless beaches. Gratefully received welcome pack which included home baked Welsh cakes, thank you Eirien x we will definitely booking again

More suited to a Range Rover type vehicle. Shower worked but was not easily controlled and not a pleasure to use. Lounge kitchen area on the small side. Well equipped but always required lights on as daylight was quite restricted. Mrs Williams did respond very quickly to the water board cutting off supply for 20 hrs.

Outstanding views of the coast, lovely rural environment. Cottage is very well equipped and warm and cosy. It needed to be during our stay as storm Agnes kept us in for a couple of days! There is plenty of space and the layout has been well thought through for maximum comfort. If we had to suggest anything at all it would be to fill in the potholes on the approach track please. Probably a constant problem on a hillside so visitors proceed with caution when you first arrive. We would highly recommend this cottage and would happily return.

The patio area is a sun trap. there is everything there that you need for a perfect holiday. The cats and alfie are all very friendly. Bennar beach is just down the road and is perfect with it's golden sand and the dunes. We usually have walking holidays but it was so hot we spend in on the beach. Criccieth is also quite close as well as harlech castle.

It was so clean, and Mrs Williams was very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. It was close to tourist attractions, including Portmeirion and the beautiful Snowdonian National Park. Llanbedr itself was a lovely village with its own attractions on the doorstep. It was so cosy and really warm. The bed was so comfortable! The cottage was in the perfect location for exploring the area; close to Barmouth and Harlech and only about 40 mins to Snowdon. The location was lovely and peaceful with views over to the sea and the flight school. I was thrilled that there were 2 resident cobs in the field nearby, who I went to see most mornings. And the owners dogs and cat were ever so friendly. Eirian and Ethan (not sure on spelling) are lovely people and always willing to have a natter and offer help if needed, though we didn't need help as the cottage is so well equipped. We will be back for sure. Dee & Chris, Devon.

The property

Llanbedr 1 mile.

A delightful barn conversion with its own terrace and parking space with the owner's home situated 50 metres away and another holiday home nearby on a 200-acre Welsh working farm, one mile from Llanbedr.

The cottage has a slightly elevated position and is nestled between the dramatic backdrop of the Rhinog Mountain range and splendid panoramic views of the Llyn Peninsula and Bardsey Island out across Cardigan Bay to the front.

This delightful cottage is perfect for a couple looking for a relaxing and romantic get away from it all break and is an ideal base for you to explore this wonderful part of North Wales and the Snowdonia National Park.

Historically an old bakery, the cottage has been lovingly renovated with many original features retained and restored.

Through the heavy oak door a wonderful wealth of charm and character awaits you and you are immediately drawn to the large impressive stone inglenook fireplace with the original bread and baking oven, with a warming gas woodburning- effect stove on a raised slate hearth.

The living accommodation is open plan and the high ceilings extenuate the space, with exposed beams and purlins.

The cosy sitting area is perfect for snuggling up on the comfy sofa together to enjoy your favourite film with the warming glow of the fire to enjoy on those chillier evenings.

There is a dining area for those romantic candle lit suppers and a well-appointed kitchen area in which to prepare them.

The pretty bedroom is spacious and light, with a high ceiling and beams and enjoys a lovely outlook and the patio door leading out to a private courtyard is a lovely spot to enjoy that early morning coffee.

Completing this beautiful cosy cottage, the shower room boasts a hydrotherapy steam shower ideal after a day walking in the hills!

Linking the living accommodation and the bedroom and shower room is arguably one of the nicest hallways you’ll walk through; fully glazed on one side with French doors opening onto the private and sheltered courtyard where you can sit and relax with a chilled glass of something and drink in those fantastic views, watch the sun dip down into Cardigan Bay, or perhaps even enjoy a little stargazing in the night sky and reminisce over the day.

Here time passes you by at a more leisurely pace, and after a long day walking in the hills you can return to this peaceful little bit of heaven on earth and simply relax.

The pretty little village of Llanbedr is a mile down the road where there are two pubs, a village shop and a local butcher’s shop.

There are some amazing walks from the door and Cwm Nantcol, Cwm Bychan and the Roman Steps are all close by.

The beaches along this stretch of the North Wales coastline are beautiful with miles and miles of sandy shores and there are many cycling trails (cycle hire is available in the village) to enjoy.

This fantastic location also boasts good golf courses, medieval castles such as Harlech Castle just three miles away, the Snowdonia National Park and miles of stunning coastline.

This cottage is a superb romantic retreat from which to explore this delightful area all year round.
