  • "Lovely cottage in Sheringham minutes away from all you need."

Cottage it larger than it looks with everything you need for a week away. Sheringham is a great town with lots of cafes, pubs, shops and the beach.

  • "A lovely little cottage very well situated for the beach and the shops."

I was visiting with my son but unfortunately the sofa bed he was to sleep on had been removed and replaced with a sofa he couldn’t sleep on. However after an “oh my what are we going to do” moment it was soon sorted by Sykes and the property owner and we both had a fabulous weeks holiday. I would definitely return

Me and my partner had the best time in sheringham and the beautiful fisherman’s beck cottage was so lovely and peaceful and the beach was only a few minutes walk and the people of sheringham were so friendly and welcoming just loved every moment about our trip away will definitely be back again ❤️

The only downfall for us was no outdoor seating which is missed on warm summer mornings and evenings.

  • "Knew it would be small but very lovely & cosy."

Great idea having lounge upstairs, perfect. Nice to arrive & have a cuppa with shortbread provided. Absolutely fantastic location within the village & surroundings. Property could do with a bit of TLC leak behind toilet but I guess easy fix. If we revisit that area in the future would gladly stay again. Thank you

  • "Beck cottage is beautifully situated."

Free off road parking when you could get it was a bonus, and the cottage is near all the amenities. Lovely walks into the shops, pubs, coastal routes each way. Some lovely decor in the cottage- however it was smaller than we anticipated. The garden in the picture looked bigger for our dog. Had it been summer, I would not book Beck as there is no outdoor seating. What spoiled our stay was I suffered with a lot of bites when in the cottage from early evening and all night. A clinician informed me after looking at photos of my skin it could either be bed bugs or fleas that were not living on an animal, but within the home. The sent me into high anxiety and I hoovered the cottage under the bed, the duvet and mattress a few times we were there. Small details like corners in the bathroom, the shower vent, the window had mould, grime alongside the oven and in the dish brush holder had been missed, and this over looked my stay unfortunately. I tried to source help from Sykes as soon as the Easter weekend finished, but am now back home with the holiday finished, and had no contact from them. Otherwise, Sheringham is a great place to explore.

  • "Hi the cottage was very clean and tidy."

However l must mention the entrance to the cottage. There is three steep steps to the cottage entrance. My wife who is in her late seventies and l just turned eighty are not as nimble footed as in our younger day. My wife took a tumble on the steps to the cottage. She is l am happy to say ok bar a bruise to her forearm and sore hand. Other than that we had a nice short stay in a cosy cottage

  • "Beck cottage was a lovely place to stay , so central we were able to walk up to the common early morning then to the beach it was beautiful."

The cottage was clean and tidy a great place to rest and enjoy the Norfolk coastal life. I would advise that in the Summer if staying at the cottage use the long stay car park that is nearby as parking is residential so may be difficult when town is busy. Great place to stay with a dog .

  • "We had a lovely time."

The cottage was smaller than expected, but well kitted out and comfortable. Being a very short walking distance to beach shops restaurants and pubs is fantastic. Finding pleasant walks, again not far from the cottage, at any level was just what we wanted. All in all a successful break for us

Our dog loved the walk behind the cottage to the common very handy to have. Would definitely love to come back. Walk in shower was really good continuous hot water whenever we wanted it Hope to be back soon

  • "Our first 24hours spent in freezing house as heating would not turn on."

Sykes contacted the owners and said they would come round after work. They did not.Eventually found that the boiler controls ( which the owners folder tells you not to touch ) had been set to hot water only. The cottage is conveniently located in Sheringham but disappointingly has no outside space. The outlook from the upstairs lounge is a dirty caravan and a skip. The bathroom is very nice, bedroom cramped, lounge sofa uncomfortable, kitchen well equipped, heating super for a winter stay.

  • ""If you on your own or one of two, Beck Cottage, Sherringham is the place for you"."

:-) We had an excellent stay. Beck Cottage is comfy, spotlessly clean, imaculately decorated and well presented throughout. It is situated in an ideal location for all the local amenities. Parking is at a premium and we did feel that we were being a pain taking up any places nearby. However, there is a longstay car park just down the hill at Cliff Road. The charge is just £34 for seven days/nights. It was worth every penny and there was no issue of trying to find a spot in the nearby roads. Although there are double yellow lines outside the cottage there appears to be no issue in a quick stop directly outside to unload and load cases etc. We hope that anyone reading this will enjoy the same excellent stay that we had. We hope to return in the future. Many thanks to the owners of Beck Cottage for everything. John & Bonnie Taylor Hailsham, East Sussex.

  • "The cottage was excellent and very clean."

The only difficulty as we see it (older clients) is the problem parking the car. It felt like you were blocking a residents space if they lived at the property in the adjacent roads. otherwise all good.

  • "Did not have the holiday so did not know what the cottage was like."

Sykes did not give acurate information about the parking and this had a massive impact on me as im disabled with limited mobility and rely heavily on being able to get to and from my car.sykes did absolutely nothing to help they would not partially refund me or refund me in full so i had to open a case with the ombudsmans office.sykes are terrible and i would advise anyone thinking of booking beck cottage to look elsewhere as the parking is on a first come first serve basis on a residential road(not in the listing)

The details regarding the parking arrangements for Beck Cottage are clear and accurate as provided in the marketing material on the booking site. There have not been any queries or comments raised by the numerous previous holiday makers who have booked and then enjoyed their stay at Beck Cottage. It is completely unjustified for this guest to attempt to dissuade potential holiday makers from choosing our cottage due to not comprehending the information provided prior to him making his booking.
