  • "We had a 4 night stay in this beautiful, quiet, renovated cottage in the first week of October and were fortunate enough to have good weather."

The owner had thought of everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable and warm, especially on chilly nights (wood burner was excellent). The views of the mountains are fantastic especially from the bedroom windows. We chose this cottage as it was where my husband visited and stayed with his grandparents when he was a child. It brought back many happy memories and one of them was of waiting for the milkman to come with a churn to fill a jug with milk. What he loved was having a modern bathroom with all its conveniences instead of having to go outside to a shed where the privy was! We can hole heartedly recommend staying at Ael y Bryn not only for an exceptional cottage but for its situation and the easy access to places like Portmadog, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Portmeirion, the steam train, slate mines and even a trip on the train to Llandudno.

Thankyou Kathryn for such fantastic feedback. It is very much appreciated and I’m so pleased it brought back amazing memories for your husband but with all the modern conveniences! Many thanks Angela Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely, so cute."

On arrival there was a little welcome basket. They'd thought of the small things such as pet bowls, towels etc. The log fire was lovely to come back to after wet walks & was nice to relax in the hot tub. The bed was so comfy, I'd say we had a decent night sleep but not with a 4month old child holidaying too. The only downside is the power of the shower wasn't the best, and the sofa wasn't the comfiest but we were out all dy so it didn't matter. This place is worth a stay and the owner was helpful with quick responses to emails.

Many thanks for the feedback Stacey I’m glad you enjoyed your holiday. The shower is electric and by no means a power shower but it does a pretty good job dealing with the water pressure we have. Many thanks. Property Owner

  • "We felt very much at home for the week we spent in this lovely cottage."

Our Border Terrier Milo loved the enclosed garden, which we also relaxed in after I had climbed Yr Wyffa. The views across to the mountains are breathtaking, and there are plenty of beautiful places within a 30 minute drive. I particularly enjoyed driving through lovely scenery with very quiet roads. The only downside for us is that the walk from the village (and pub) is quite an uphill climb which my disabled wife couldn’t manage in a wheelchair. The local pub however, is well worth a visit for a lovely meal. Overall, we made the right choice to stay here and loved our week.

So glad you and your wife enjoyed your stay. Means a lot you felt you had made the ‘right choice’! Also glad Milo loved the garden. Hopefully see you back again. Property Owner

Welcome basket was lovely as were the dressing gowns, hottub was lovely could only use for the first part of the week due to the weather. Storage heaters as there design don't react quickly to.sudden changes in the weather so was cold no starter pack of fire wood as par the listing which we didn't realise until it was too late so worth getting some just in case.

Thanks Richard I’ve picked up with Sykes re the listing as the starter pack for the fire is only provided in the winter months November to March and April/October is weather dependant. This has now been altered. The storage heaters are reactive and kick in if the room drops below 20 and will generate a charge if they are needed. Thanks for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "This place is an incredible find."

Just on the outskirts of Llan Ffestiniog, this is located far enough out that it feels remote and private, but close enough to be able to walk to the local shops and pub. It's easy to reach Porthmadog in about 15 mins as well. As soon as we stepped in, it felt like home. It was cosy with homely touches everywhere. You can tell the owner really cares. There was a book left with all the useful information and where to find certain things, a FULLY equipped kitchen, a little goody box too. The bed was amazing and some of the best sleep I've had in a while. We've been in touch with the owner since we've left, but she is easily reachable should you need anything during your stay. We will definitely be booking to come back.

  • "Beautiful holiday cottage."

Exceptionally clean with everything you need. The views from the bedroom window are stunning and all you can hear outside are the sheep and running water from the hillside. Bed is huge and very comfortable. Log burner (wood, kindling, firelighters provided) is lovely for cosy evenings in. Hot tub is amazing with lights changing the water different colours and has waterfall feature. Was so wonderfully relaxing just looking up at the stars. There was a lovely welcome pack and message from Angela the owner (who had messaged us previously to see if we wanted Christmas decorations left up or took down which was nice of her to ask us).Kitchen very well equipped, bathroom lovely too. Obviously being so rural there are no takeaways that deliver that we could find, so just bear that in mind if you are hoping to call for a takeaway to be delivered but they are not far in the car to collect as was the big co-op and Spar. We took our little dog and there was a bed provided, poo bags, bowls, and treats etc we had brought our own but we didn't need to (you could tell the owners are dog lovers) . Rightly so dogs are not allowed on the bed. We took our dog out with us the whole time (so many places allow dogs) but if you have a dog who sneaks on the bed when you go out you would need to shut them in the kitchen as there is no way else of stopping them getting upstairs. We had the most amazing stay here, we slept better than we had in years and we really didn't want to leave. Feel totally recharged and would come back again in a heart beat.

Thankyou Clare for such positive comprehensive feedback. A lovely review thanks and greatly appreciated. Looking forward to welcoming you back. Many thanks for booking. Property Owner
