  • "A lovely well equipped cottage, perfectly located for peace and quiet but great for exploring the island too."

Fenced in garden for our dog was great.

  • "Loved the setting of the cottage, great conversion of presumably once farm buildings, quiet, great views."

Enclosed gardens. Cottage was clean and reasonably well equipped. Lovely little balcony but sadly unable to use due to awful weather we had! ( note doors to balcony were extremely stiff and difficult to open) Could do with some storage in main bedroom, was only a small wardrobe with 2 hangers so would’ve been better with large set of drawers and a few hooks with hangers . Was quite cold when we were staying, would’ve been nice to have had a couple of blankets accessible. Although cottage says dog friendly, we found this particular one was no good for our dog. Steps difficult to negotiate for a dog in to garden (/only access to garden is from balcony] and he couldn’t cope with narrow wooden stairs on inside as too slippery for him without carpet and as this was an “ upside down house” he had to live in the hallway without us all week so that he could get outside again! Obviously not owners fault but something to bear in mind especially if you have a large dog , ours is a lab, went home a night early in the end. Also re. Maintenance cold tap was faulty and difficult to use in kitchen. Would be nice to put some tubs in kitchen to keep opened food fresh or to use for picnics etc. overall tho, this is a charming little place to stay and a good base for exploring the island

Gwalia is lovely. The cottage was the perfect base for exploring the island, and a cosy and comfortable place to stay, with beautiful surroundings and perfect peace.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Gwalia cottage."

The setting is relaxing with the views of surrounding fields yet a short drive to beaches. The cottage had all that we needed and was clean and tidy. A perfect base to explore the island. It was perfect for our small family. We enjoyed using the high spec appliances, especially the coffee machine. The bedrooms are cosy, especially the master but the beds were very comfortable. The master bedroom would benefit from a set of drawers rather than a cupboard. Recommended Gwalia to others for a relaxing stay.

Thanks very much for leaving your feedback, we're so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Gwalia. Note your comment regarding bedroom storage and we're looking in to it! Property Owner

The cottage is cosy, well equipped and comfortable with great views. Perfect as a base to discover Angelsey for the first time. We loved walking up the the wild rabbits and cows! The highlights of our stay was travelling on the Snowdonia Star and visiting Trearddur Bay. I'm sure we will be back.

  • "We had a lovely stay at the cottage last week, the cottage was just as described, the location was ideal and the views were lovely."

It was so lovely to sit on the balcony for a couple of early breakfasts and listen to the birdsong. My only criticism which is minor... Would be to have a slighty larger wardrobe in the double room with a set if drawers built into it as there were no drawers at all in that room to stow your small itens of clothing. We will hopefully be back to visit again and would have no hestitation in recommending the cottage to friends and family.

Thank you for taking some time to review your stay at Gwalia. So pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay and made use of the great balcony. We're looking in to changing the storage arrangements in the double bedroom so thank you for your suggestions. Property Owner

  • "Just returned from a stay at Gwalia Cottage."

Lovely area & setting very peaceful & quiet. Cottage well equipped and we would have really enjoyed our stay except for the oil fired boiler. The fumes that were omitted from it were nauseating . It was so bad we had to have the patio door open whilst in the cottage even when when there was winds. Engineer came out and confirmed there wasn't a leak so the boiler was safe.

Thanks for your feedback on your stay. We always respond quickly to guest concerns and hope the engineer provided reassurance that the boiler was safe. Property Owner

  • "We love going to Anglesey and had a lovely week away."

Gwalia Cottage is in a great location, so near to Llanddwyn beach and Newborough Forest, but not too far to drive over to one of the other fabulous places on the Island. Overall, the cottage was clean and comfortable and is in very nice peaceful surroundings. Unfortunately, it has an oil boiler which emits a fuel type smell. We were unlucky in that the boiler had a leak while we were there which increased the smell, however, the owners were quick to react and fix the issue which we were thankful for. Sadly, it did taint our week as the boiler is situated within the kitchen/living area which meant whenever we were in the cottage we had all windows and doors open. This is okay to do during summer but not sure it would be as easy during the colder months. After speaking to the owners through Sykes, they did say that depending on the weather the smell could be stronger... I would suggest that the boiler needs either moving to a different area or potentially the flue outside needs to be changed. While the cottage itself is nice enough, the whole experience wasn't quite what we wanted.

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback and we're pleased you are satisfied that we responded to and resolved the issue quickly for you. Property Owner
