"A stressless break,no vehicles,no noise,just peace and quiet."
-
"The cottage was in the perfect location for us, in very peaceful surroundings with great walks from the door."
The property was clean and well maintained and equipped with everything we needed. The owner was very helpful and easy to contact if necessary. We had a lovely stay and there are plenty of places to visit close by.
-
"We had a lovely family holiday here."
Idyllic countryside location. The house and estate have an interesting history too. We enjoyed sitting in the garden and watching the swallows going in and out of their nests. Another highlight was climbing the Conwy mountain nearby and seeing a herd of wild horses.

"This is a superb, very peaceful and restful cottage in an incomparable location."
The cottage is very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. as well as conveniently located for visiting all of North Wales and Anglesey. The owner is helpful and responds very swiftly. The views are wonderful on all sides and keep us coming back (this was our third visit). There is something amazing about seeing nothing but sheep and swallows out of every window of the house ! A brilliant holiday as usual. thank you !
-
"A very comfortable stay at Pensychnant Cottage, thank you, in an ideal and picturesque location for North Wales attractions generally."
I particularly enjoyed the easy walking access to Conwy Mountain, the North Wales Path and the surrounding area. Well worth a visit.
-
"Really nice comfy cottage that is warm and cozy."
Only 2 miles outside Conwy but you feel remote and quiet. The countryside is quiet and relaxing.
-
"Very nice property at the end of a single lane bumpy track, a nice size for the 4 of us - was missing a couple of bits in the kitchen but we bought some kitchen tongs and pizza trays as gifts to the house."
Excellent location to reach the surrounding area but be far enough out not to be disturbed by anything (apart from maybe the chickens or the sheep!) Would definitely return another time :o)
-
"A real stress buster,no traffic just peace and quiet."
Cottage well equipped

"Recently stayed at Pensychnant cottage and found it had everything required to make the stay a very pleasant experience - comfortable with lots of storage and a good kitchen, etc."
However, the main selling point must be the location. Just a short walking distance from some lovely countryside (Conwy Mountain and the northern area of the Carneddau, etc). It's also is very quiet. just sheep, birds and rabbits for company... Saying that, Conwy is less than a ten minute drive away (lots of pubs and a Spar (with a Amazon Locker)) and a fifteen minute drive gets you to Llandudno Junction with proper big shops that sells slightly posher stuff than they sell in Spar. All in all, I would say it is a great place to stay.

"A lovely stay in such a peaceful place."
The cottage had everything we needed and we managed well as a family of 3. The farm buildings mentioned by a previous reviewer are an open sided wood store and a derelict hay loft, which looked quite castley and pretty. We did not see a soul anywhere near the cottage apart from wild rabbits, sheep, a friendly chicken and so many varieties of tiny birds we started calling the window "bird TV". Only thing missing were some DVDs, books or games for the evenings. Some lovely walks from the cottage and easy reach by car to beaches etc. Would recommend Green Wood theme park and the Great Orme copper mine. Fantastic and would return.
-
"A very peaceful property located in a superb part of Wales."
Without denigrating the property the description is guilty of misdescription by omission in that it is opposite a farm yard and barn . The pictures shown suggest it is isolated sand no mention is made of them.

Wonderful views and amazing walks from this cottage.Great place to relax away from City life.
-
"Beautiful warm cozy cottage where you can fully relax in the wonderful surrounding countryside."
Fully equipped and very comfortable.

"Our holiday at Pensychnant was quite "magical"."
The location was excellent, our surroundings delightful, with many interesting features to explore - including the sheep and wild ponies on the doorstep! The cottage itself was perfect, cosy and so well equipped it catered for everything. I would thoroughly recommend this holiday property.
-
"We had a fabulous holiday at Pensychnant."
The cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. There are many good walks from the property with stunning views towards Anglesey, Puffin Island and the Great Orme. The cottage is in peaceful surroundings with an abundance of interesting wildlife.
-
"Home from home."
A cottage you can relax and forget all the problems that are going on in the world. The views are amazing and yet you are just 2 miles from Conwy town.
-
"We found the cottage perfect for us and had a great stay."
The cottage is beautiful and is in a lovely, extremely quiet location with wonderful views, with an added bonus of sheep and rabbits. The cottage is very clean and nicely decorated, it has spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Everything is provided for your stay and we would happily return.
-
"This was our fourth visit to Pensychnant Cottage, the cottage has benefitted from new windows, a new shower and new dishwasher since our last visit."
The cottage is well equipped and comfortable, it is a very peaceful place despite being only a few minutes drive from Conwy and within easy reach of all of the attractions of North Wales. The track from the main road had also been improved, however this did deteriorate a little during the course of our stay due to the number of vehicles using it. There was a Spring Fair and other events at the Conservation centre over the week and this would account for the extra traffic. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the cottage and will no doubt be back again in the future.
-
"Was expecting good things, but the property and the location actually exceeded all expectations."
Beautiful, clean, spacious and comfortable property in a quiet and idyllic countryside setting. Will not hesitate to book again.
-
"Quiet location but handy for local towns and walking routes."
-
"Peace and quiet and the whole vibe is fantastic stress levels drop immediately."
Recommend.
-
"The house was just what we needed but was rather tired and could just do with a lick of paint."
It was bigger than we expected which was good. We thought it would have been good to have had prior warning about the rabbit holes in the garden. We loved the location! Just what we needed and we will be back.

"We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage."
We appreciated the 'welcome' tray. Conveniently close to Conway, it is in a lovely rural and peaceful setting with sheep right outside the kitchen window. We also met Julian who runs the nature reserve and had a wealth of knowledge about the site. The cottage itself was really nice spacious and bright with good sized rooms. The garden would have been nice to sit out in but we were unlucky with the weather which meant we didnt get the chance. My only negatives would be that the bathroom is a bit in need of a refresh and that the cottage listed a games room. Which there wasn't.
-
"We had a wonderful week in this cottage - the setting is stunning and we enjoyed some fabulous walks in the mountains."
We were even lucky enough to meet the ponies on Conwy Mountain. We had hot weather so were thankful for shady areas in the gardens. The front garden has the most sun for those that enjoy it. The cottage was well-equipped and we really appreciated the welcome pack that greeted us on arrival - thank you. The info pack sent by email was very useful. The warden at the conservation center was very helpful and knowledgeable. We miss being there and hope to return.
-
"Enjoyed our stay at Pensychnant as usual having been several times."
Thank you to owner Tim Stott for his helpfulness.
-
"Cottage is beautiful, large and has everything you need to make the stay a great one."
The location of the cottage is stunning and is surrounded by beautiful views on all sides, lots of open space and peace to enjoy and lots of wonderful walks and wildlife to observe.
-
"Good location for walks and Conway."
The cottage is lovely but needs a lot of work doing to it very dated.. Ceiling in bathroom paint peeling off . Bath panel, shower screen needs replacing very grubby. Main bedroom large brown staining on ceiling. Lounge not homely feeling very bland ,cushions look very flat and worn .dining area not were you want to sit in as very dark and bland . Bad smell from utility room. Garden lawn very bumpy tripped up a lot of the times .

"Location was amazing."
-
"It was an amazing holiday cottage, very spacious and comfortable in an amazing conservation area."
Very peaceful but near enough to shops/town for essentials. Thoroughly recommend, thank you :-)
-
"Beautiful cottage in a rural location."
Well equipped.Great place to unwind and relax.
-
"This was our third year back."
The cottage was still as welcoming as ever. Conwy is just a short 5 minute drive away where there are plenty of shops and places to eat (restrictions due to covid but most shops are open and cafe doing takeaway) The cottage gives you a tranquil place to escape to yet you are in easy reach of Conwy and llandudno. With Wales being different in relation to Covid restrictions we had already planned ahead and booked to visit Bodnant Gardens and the Welsh Mountain Zoo. I would recommend both places. The rest of the week we filled with beaches and walking on conwy mountain. Most castles will be opening from the 3rd of August but again you need to plan ahead as you would visiting anywhere at the moment as many sites require booking. We will be returning again next year as there are still so many places to explore within easy reach of the cottage. We recommend the cottege and conwy.
-
"The cottage is very remote."
The local roads are undulating, and quite a lot of travelling is necessary to get anywhere. It rains a lot in Wales.
-
"A cosy and comfortable cottage in beautiful and quiet location but with easy access to Conwy."
It is a brilliant base for exploring Snowdonia and the coast. Would recommend to anyone who wants an escape from a hectic life.
-
"We loved the peaceful setting, isolated, in lovely countryside, with just the birds sheep and chickens to keep us company, but within reach of many beautiful places to visit."
-
"A comfortable, cosy, well equipped cottage."
Wonderful walks from the door. Lovely area and just a short drive to historic Conway. Had a lovely time.
-
"Fantstic cottage just 2 miles outside Conwy but you feel in the middle of nowhere."
Comfortable, warm and cozy.Great value for money.
-
"Stayed at this cottage 5 times now."
Lovely location and we had a very relaxed stay in this comfortable, cozy cottage.
-
"This was our second stay at Pensychnant Cottage."
We can’t say enough about how comfortable it is and how exquisite the location is. Having seed in the bird feeders was wonderful as we sometimes had as many as twelve birds at a time. We will be back!
-
"It was a great location quiet and peaceful."
We had 1 or 2 problems but the owner Tim Stott was brilliant and helped sort it out ( one was a power cut). We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
-
"This place is amazing."
The cottage is homely and welcoming as were the people. Beautiful walks on the doorstep and Conwy only a 10 minute drive with its castles, Tudor house, boats, beaches. There was plenty to do to keep a 3 year old busy between conwy attractions, walks and with 30 minute drive water falls there was never a dull moment. We were sad to leave such a lovely place and are already planning to return next year.
-
"Lovely cosy cottage."
Perfect rural location.
-
"I want to go back again and again"
-
"Pensychnant Cottage (921866) - A beautiful, spacious cottage in a beautiful location."
The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and clean and the cottage has all the facilities you need. It is quite and peaceful and a safe environment for children. Lovely walks available around the cottage to enjoy and convenient for access to all attractions in North Wales.
-
"Very central to places we wanted to visit."
Would have been nice to have info on buses however we discovered it from the folk at the Austrian restaurant (very nice) and we're able to get a bus from Penmaenmaur. They went to Bangor, Llandudno, and Conwy. Enjoyed our stay and arranged another visit later in the year. Looking forward to our return.
-
"Beautiful peaceful location."
You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but you are just 2 miles from lovely Conwy.Cottage is cozy and warm and has everything in it to make your stay comfortable.lve booked it again already for the third time.
-
"We had an amazing week."
The cottage was clean, well stocked and perfect for families. The location was beautiful with an array of walks and wildlife. We will definitely book again.
-
"The cottage needs wi-fi."
I know it does state that there is no broadband but in today's market I think that bookings may be affected by no internet connection. We were house hunting and the lack of internet was very frustrating. Also, the road or track leading to the property is in terrible condition with several quite large pot holes. We were actually worried that our car might get damaged and it wouldn't take too much to sort out the pot holes.
-
"Fantastic cottage in an excellent location."
There is so much to do in North Wales. We would definitely like to return.
-
"We had a fantastic time."
The location was perfect, the cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The views were beautiful, I wish we had stayed longer and plan to return. The photos really don't do the cottage justice, it is amazing
-
"The location of Pensychnant Cottage was unbeatable."
The house was spotless and contained everything we could possibly need. We enjoyed hiking on nearby Conwy Mountain, having tea in the garden, and watching the sheepdogs at work in the field outside the window. We fell in love with the place and its surroundings and want to return soon!

About the location
CAPELULO
Penmaenmawr 1.5 miles; Conwy 2.5 miles; Llandudno 10 miles.
Capelulo is a small village on the North Wales coast between Penmaenmawr and Conwy. The village is in an elevated position with both mountain and sea views and is home to a pub and an Austrian restaurant. Set on the side of the Tal-Y-Fan mountain, Capelulo enjoys stunning views across Conwy Bay to Llandudno, Anglesey and the Irish Sea, and if you are lucky, dolphins can sometimes been see playing in the bay. Capelulo is just a couple of miles from Penmaenmawr, an old quarrying town now adapted into a delightful community stretching along this stunning coastline, yet retaining much of its Victorian architecture, with many local pubs, restaurants and shops, a superb golf course and golden, sandy beaches. A recently opened cycle path leads along the coastal path to Conwy Marina to the East, and Llanfairfechan to the west. Or, head up the Conwy valley through the Sychnant Pass on to the mountain trails that abound there. The sailing club in Penmaenmawr is well established and welcomes day guests, as does the 9 hole golf course, set amongst stunning coastal scenery on the lower slopes of the village. On the promenade you will find numerous activities such as a skate park, bowling green and all weather tennis courts as well as a beach café in the summer.
