  • "It's a wonderful location, quiet."

Ideal for the beach and visiting the surrounding areas. The addition of a pool table and football table are fab ! And your facilities are spot on with a brilliant guide book. The only thing i would suggest is instructions on how to open the windows as we couldn't get them to open, and on really hot days, it would of been a benefit . We had an amazing time and it's so beautifully done up , the Chapel is a real credit to all your hard work.

Hi - so glad you enjoyed your stay, will check our welcome book for window instructions as we would love some more hot days! Property Owner

  • "The location of the Chapel was ideal to explore."

Lovely coastal drives and beaches. Only 35mins to Caernarfon and quicker into mountains. First impressions on arrival were not good, especially on seeing all the stuff crammed into the yard, looked very messy. Was this part of the chapel? Do the owners live next door? The appearance of their property lets the Chapel down. It would have been nice to have been informed that the back part of the property was owned/tenanted out to someone.. To then find out that the area above the laundry room and downstairs bedroom were occupied by next door was another disappointment. The welcome guide advised that when sitting on the bench outside you have to be respectful/quiet/mindful of this. So we felt we couldn’t on the nice days sit outside so as not to upset the neighbours. Also if I’m honest looking at the messy yard was a put off. On your holiday you want to relax and enjoy yourself but we felt rather constricted. I feel that you should make people aware of this, so they have the full facts about the property they are booking. Maybe make an area at the front away from the neighbours for outside dining. The facilities of the Chapel were amazing and top notch. Loved that there were the games and DVD’s. Kitchen was well equipped with pans, dishes and baking trays ( which is a must when self catering). The pool table and football table were a great addition. A let down was having only one TV. TV’s in bedrooms in this building would have solved the sound problem or even a rethink to the layout. Where the TV is at the moment and because of it being a chapel there needs to more soft furnishings (curtains, blinds) to soak up the acoustics. Or move the TV down to eye level along with the speakers so the sound is hitting you at the right level rather than bouncing from wall to wall. Or even move the dinning table, pool table & football table into the Lounge area and the lounge area where they are under the lower ceiling. This may elevate some of the sound problems. Of course we didn’t spend all our time watching TV but when family members did it was difficult to hear because of the high ceiling and position of the TV. Cleanliness in general was good but there were several kitchen items that hadn’t been cleaned. We presume these were cleaned by the previous guests. So maybe spend time checking all in order before next guests arrive. Plus the bathtub wasn’t cleaned. The wardrobe in the twin room it was full with cot-bed, Christmas tree and hoover. So we couldn’t hang clothes. Yes we could have moved but this would have been downstairs and we didn’t want to be looking at all of that for the week. Should it have been in there?? Maybe find somewhere else to put these. The worse thing was the horrendous smell we had all week in this bedroom. Which in the end made me and my daughter sick. This was reported and dealt with quickly but unfortunately needed more in-depth inspection. The owner was understanding and a resolution was agreed. However it’s Sykes who have let the owner down as I’m still waiting a refund for this to be completely resolved. I’ve call 5 times to get this sorted. Promised payment but not had it yet. The Welcome Guide, laminates and labelling around the chapel were fantastic. Nicely presented and easy to understand - in fact the best we have seen in all the 15 years we have been staying in houses around the UK. The Chapel was also well equipped in respects of cleaning products, batteries, bulbs, kitchen roll, bin bags, tea, coffee etc all the things you may need. The Chapel was lovely but issues with the sound and the smell, which seem to be a common things really need to be addressed. Also the fact you are joined could be simply be worded on the description so people are aware. It’s more off putting when you don’t know. Please take this in the manner this is intended that of constructive criticism. If these issues are addressed this place would be fantastic for a family holiday in Wales.

Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate the honesty and after much investigation have since found the cause of the smell that you informed us of and have taken steps to rectify it. We have found that most guests appreciate the lack of TV's in the bedrooms and with such a lovely large space it can be difficult to find a balance between the amenities, comfort and still feel relaxed and we hope we have achieved that. We will take on board the other points you raised and review each one We are glad that you found the resolution acceptable as we want all our guests to have the best time and if there is a problem we want to address it as soon as we can Property Owner

  • "Loved the property, great location to visit other areas of interest, large & inviting house that has been tastefully decorated."

What you see in the pictures is what you get. Unfortunately the bathroom and en-suite was not clean on arrival, hair in the shower, soap marks on the shower glass etc but this was quickly resolved after one phone call. TV sound was an issue, when increasing the volume the noise would travel through the rest of the house. Put subtitles which resolved things after all it is an open plan sitting room. Don’t worry if you hear things go bump in the night, I’m sure he/she is friendly

Glad you enjoyed your stay - we strive to make guests comfortable and sort out any issues as quickly as possible Property Owner

It could do with some full length curtain to reduce the echo, you can hear every tiny footstep from others when trying to sleep and the TV sound system needs looking at, the base was so loud, yet you struggled to hear the talking if you tried to turn it down. We would definitely go back, 3 generations of our family stayed and we all loved it.

  • "Lovely chapel conversion is a great location Llyn peninsula, perfectly positioned between porthmadog and abersoch made it easy to visit lots of places."

We wanted to get a day pas for Havan however they wouldnt let us despite it saying we could in the cottage. There were a few cobwebs and spiders etc and someone had left clothes and underwear in wardrobe so must not have been cleaned and checked properly. Sky TV was a great addition but could of done with a few board games for the wet weather days. There was a picnic bench in a small gated area to side of chapel but that was about it. It was perfect for us but if the weather was nice in evening id be a little disappointed. Parasol, BBQ some nice outside lights would make small space a really nice feature. I was disappointed with Sykes for not getting back to me regards loyalty discount we should of received, a call and an email and nothing. Not so sure i will continue my loyalty with them after many years.

Directions to find place a bit difficult, if it said take turning as if into the Haven holiday site and then immediately left it would have been clearer, but we found it. Note to other visitors, the property looks like it is on a main road, but that isn’t so, tiny road, no traffic. Haven very close, but no noise or evidence that it is there really, so don’t be concerned about either issue. Great facility, beautifully presented, we had three generations on our family holiday, everyone thrilled with property, very happy.
