Bad points garden could do with tidy up 1st floor shower room black mould outside of shower cubicle on floor and pink mould over a large surface of tile grout inside cubicle Bath room window handle hanging off and window frame very dirty because you can not shut it!

  • "The kitchen facilities were excellent."

Plenty of room in the oven and fridge and there were enough pans and utensils. The lounge was comfortable for 6 people as was the dining table although it was a bit wobbly. Instructions for things like the tvs would have been useful and saved us having to contact the owner. The location was good although we hadn’t realised it was such a steep hill. With one infirm elderly person in our party we had to drive down into the town. Not the owner’s fault, more our lack of research. The downstairs shower drenched the floor and could probably do with a curtain at the end. The upstairs toilet was very tight, you have to squeeze around the door to get in/out. If the door opened out it would be easier to use. These were minor annoyances though. The beds were comfy, there was plenty of space and it was very tastefully furnished. The owner responded quickly to any queries and was really easy and friendly to deal with.

Thank you so much for your feedback; I’m thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the kitchen facilities and found the lounge and dining areas comfortable. The table top has been tightened now which has remedied the wobble. I appreciate your suggestions about the smart TV instructions, these have been added to the welcome messages to ensure guests are able to navigate through the smart TV menu. The shower curtain, and toilet door; we are definitely take these into consideration for future improvements. It’s great to know that the beds and furnishings met your expectations, and I’m glad our swift responses made your stay more enjoyable. Thank you for your thoughtful comments, and I hope we have the opportunity to host you again in the future! Property Owner

  • "Beautifully furnished and decorated property with everything you could need for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday."

Immaculately clean and everything provided for a self catering stay. The lovely front garden provided a sunny place to sit and enjoy breakfast , there is also a nice enclosed rear garden though we tended to sit at the front more. The 3 double bedrooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable. Short and pleasant walk into the town centre with plenty of eateries, shops , harbour and castle. Would recommend Edwards Deli / Butcher in the town centre for fresh sandwiches, pies and other delicious food. For eating out we enjoyed The Mulberry at Conwy Marina, lovely food and nice outside seating area, dog friendly too. Good transport links to Llandudno, Anglesey and Snowdonia. The only negative would be the upstairs toilet/ shower room which was quite difficult to get in and out of due to the compact space available to open and close the door and think some people may struggle with this. In its defence there are 2 more toilets downstairs and another shower, not quite as convenient though in the night. Overall I would definitely recommend this excellent holiday home for its comfort, location and facilities and would certainly book again if returning to the area. Our thanks to the owner for a lovely holiday !

  • "We enjoyed our stay but were very disappointed with some elements."

There were two broken toilet seats, which I’m sure had been reported by other guests. The shower downstairs flooded the first time I had a shower. I didn’t notice to begin with which meant the water ran under the door. I took out the plug, which was quite stuck and didn’t come out easily. It did drain eventually. I had to dry the floors with towels. I suffer from arthritis and the bending didn’t help my back, apart from spoiling the experience. The shower upstairs was dirty and unfit for use. The shower room is very small and is difficult to get in and out of. Both TVs in the bedrooms were broken neither had remote controls, disappointing obviously. The outside areas and the gardens were in need of a good clean. Gardens overgrown and full of weeds, a shame as they could have been lovely to relax in and enjoy. The garden furniture, again was dirty and unfit for use. Two things really upset us. When we arrived and were looking around, carrying in our luggage the owner was in the room. This is unacceptable, he should have waited until we were organised and then knocked on the door and explained what he was doing. He said he was mending a lamp, but he didn’t therefore we only had one small lamp in the lounge which was dark without the ceiling light on. He could have brought another lamp the next door. One morning I was on my own in the property, there was a knock on the door. I was reluctant to answer the door, but the knocking persisted so I walked around the back. A man, claiming to be a gardener, said that the owner had sent him to look round the garden with a view to doing some work. This was not an appropriate time for him to come, obviously not the gardener’s fault. Some pots and pans were dirty, a small thing but unacceptable when the holiday maker is sent two messages as to how to leave the property, pots clean etc! The property looks very welcoming and is well equipped. Beds were comfortable with lovely linen on. There were plenty of towels. One aspect worried me, there are no blinds or curtains in the kitchen, which is very overlooked and in the dining room. Had I been on my own I would have been reluctant to go in these areas after dark.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay. We genuinely appreciate your comments as they help us improve our services. We are sorry to hear that your experience was not up to your expectations and sad that you were not able to highlight any of these issues to us during your stay. Allow us to address the points you raised and provide some context from our perspective. Broken Toilet Seats: We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the broken toilet seats. We were unaware of this issue until your feedback and have since inspected them to ensure future guests do not face similar issues. Downstairs Shower Flooding: We regret the inconvenience caused by the shower flooding. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. With the shower head it would help to adjust the angle to ensure the spray remains within the shower. Upstairs Shower Condition: We strive to maintain high cleanliness standards. Our housekeeping team has been informed about your concerns and the shower area has undergone a thorough cleaning and maintenance check to ensure it meets our standards. Bedroom TVs and Remotes: We apologise for the broken TVs and missing remote controls. I have asked the maintenance team to resolve this asap. Outside Areas and Garden: Maintaining the garden and outdoor areas is a priority for us. We have scheduled more frequent maintenance to ensure the gardens remain clean and inviting. The garden furniture will be reviewed and if appropriate repaired replaced or spruced up. Owner's Presence During Check-In: We understand that the owner's presence during your arrival was not expected. Our intention was to ensure the property was up to standard (pre visit inspection) and add additional lighting for your comfort. Gardener's Visit: We apologise for the gardener's untimely visit. As you point out at this time of year it is imperative we have the gardener tend to the garden with as little disruption to guests as possible. Cleanliness of Pots and Pans: We are sorry for the oversight in the kitchen cleanliness. Our housekeeping team has been instructed to double-check all kitchenware to ensure it meets our cleanliness standards. Curtains/Blinds in the Kitchen and Dining Room: We understand your concern regarding privacy. I would like to explore this point further with you to understand who overlooks the kitchen or dining area. We are glad to hear that you found the property welcoming, well-equipped, and appreciated the comfortable beds and linen. We strive to provide a pleasant stay for all our guests, and your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve. Your feedback gives us further opportunity to provide future guests with a superior experience. Please be advised: Our cleaning team highlighted some issues with the condition in which you left the property and sadly reported things that we are taking further counsel from Sykes on. • "Such a fantastic place to have whilst staying in Conwy."

There was 5 of us in total along with a one year old and dog and the house made it so easy to wind down, relax and enjoy the time together. The whole place was very clean and tidy, all the appliances were high spec and the bedrooms were a great size with comfy beds. The bifold doors which open out from the kitchen onto the patio made it perfect to enjoy nice weather and socialise together. Having a secure garden at the back as well as the front was extremely convenient for the dog and the same can be said for a driveway that fits up to three cars on. Would 100% stay here again

Quite awkward with a large vehicle. The bathrooms have already been mentioned by previous guests, we found the bath rather difficult to manage was a case of style over substance. The beds were very comfortable as was the lounge furniture. Could have done with instructions re the TV.

The house was warm, clean and well presented. As mentioned in previous reviews the upstairs toilet needs to have the door opening outwards. One of the trip switches tripped and as there is no information pack at the house, the fuse box wasn’t located. The owner is making ongoing improvements.

Thank you for your feedback we hope the new online information pack (Sykes App) will help ensure guests know where everything is and additional information that may be useful. We are looking to change the door opening which will be completed as soon as possible. Once again thank you for your kind words and feedback it’s vital for us to get this right. Property Owner

  • "Great location and the property was clean and well presented."

I do sympathise with previous comments on size of upstairs toilet/shower. Not ideal if you need to get up in the night !!! A door opening out would be a vast improvement. During our stay neither of the heated towel rails worked upstairs and the fan in the downstairs shower room wouldn’t switch off. There were a lot of statement pieces of lighting and furnishings but the lighting was too harsh in the lounge of an evening. Could definitely do with some lamps to soften the lighting. We use the kitchen a lot when we are away and found it a little light on utensils etc. It needs a vegetable strainer, some bowls to use in the microwave, some oven dishes and a broom/dustpan and brush. I also thought it was unusual not to have a ‘information’ file with instructions etc. I have been self catering for well over 20 years and this is the first property not to have one.

Really appreciate your feedback it helps us identify any improvements we can make. I am delighted the issues with the towel radiators has been rectified. After the install of the new boiler the pipes were not fully connected which has been remedied our new appointed plumber. We have added said items above in the kitchen. The information file is online through the Sykes App. We are sourcing some bed side lamps and also some lamps for the living to help with a softer ambiance. The remaining job is to change the door opening of the upstairs toilet to be change to allow better access. We hope this will make for a more pleasant stay for future guests and appreciate your understanding and helping us to get this right. Property Owner

  • "Lovely house but not impressed with the toilets."

Both are very small and not easy to get in and out of .The shower room and toilet is very small if you are on the large side you wouldn't be able to get in and out of the shower room .no toilet in the upstairs bathroom were the bath is .Downstairs toilet is also very small fitted under the stairs .The utility room isn't finished it would be much better if a decent shower room and toilet are fitted here and the under stairs toilet turned into the utility room with stacking washer dryer .Also one of the bedrooms has a very small double bed .its a tight squeeze to get passed the bottom of the bed because the dressing table almost touches the bottom of the bed. so you can't use the bottom drawers won't open bed in the way .All the rest of the house is lovely and well done .would we stay here again probably not because of the toilets. Its a shame because its so close to walk into shops pubs and restaurants of conway.

We are pleased to confirm we have a team in finishing off the utility room this will have installed a shower, toilet and sink. Regards the bed/drawers for some reason the bed was away from the wall this has been pushed back allowing better passage/access to the bottom drawer. We will see what else we can do here. Thank you for your feedback it is really important for us to get this right. New photos coming soon… Property Owner

The house was very comfortable. Especially the beds. Bed linen and furnishings of high standard. Well equipped kitchen. One of the best we've stayed at. One thing that was missing from the inside of the house was a bin. Reading previous reviews, lack of a bin seem to be a common theme. It certainly didnt spoil our stay but would have helped.Overall our experience was very good. A beautiful house close to the town. Thank you Simon. Penny Gorman and Jan Ryder.

About the location

CONWY

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.
