  • "Photos on website shows a small garden at the rear of the property."

This garden does not belong to the property but is owned by the next door neighbour. The parking is not considered suitable for anything other than a small family saloon car due to the width of the road and numerous refuse bins that are stored at the front of the property.

Hi Thank you for your feedback. It’s actually one of very few cottages in Conwy where parking is available. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very cosy and the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was also lovely with a nice shower."

Unfortunately these positives were counteracted by a number of negatives. The main one being that on the pictures of the cottage there is a picture of a small garden, when you arrive at the cottage there is a notice informing you that this garden doesn't belong to the cottage. This is very misleading, especially for a cottage that is listed as pet friendly and this picture should be removed from the advert. I would perhaps expect a prerequisite of being listed as pet friendly, would be somewhere for your dog to go outside, but there was nowhere to the front or rear of the property. We also found a dog toy from a previous tenant under the Tv cabinet, I would expect a higher level of cleanliness. In the bathroom the window frame was filthy. The window in the kitchen wouldn't open and because the cottage is small, even making toast set the smoke alarm off. I will appreciate these might sound like we had an unpleasant stay, this wasn't the case at all but I feel they are legitimate points, that if addressed would enhance the cottage and for future holidaymakers.

Picture of garden very misleading as it doesn't belong to sandy shell cottage. The picture should be removed ASAP.I saw the picture of the garden when booking as I have a dog and this was one of the reasons l booked it. Kitchen items very sparse. No bottle opener we bought one! I also had to unblock bath trap which was full of hair and backing up. Roses were lovely touch as my favourite flower. Bed was very comfy.

Beautifully decorated with comfy bed. Dog-friendly - no garden but a lovely park just around the corner. Conwy has lots of dog-friendly pubs and cafes with some lovely walks straight from the front door. Perfect location within the town walls. Shame we couldn't let our dog in the little back garden, but he did escape into there once when we had the door open for some fresh air. Also,at night it was quite chilly a few nights but couldn't figure out any of the heating. Finally, the iron didn't work, but I had packed a travel one. Otherwise, it was well stocked & comfy. One suggestion, if dogs can't use the garden or go upstairs, a stair gate & stable door would be really handy.

From the quayside to Sandy Shell is up a steep gradient - other wise many of the walks we undertook were on the 'flat' - over the bridge to Deganwy - around the coast to Conwy Beach - sadly a walk to Dyffryn Conwy was curtailed as the Riverside path entered RSPB land and dogs / bikes were not permitted. Parking outside was a minor issue - if you have a large car you may impinge on a neighbours frontage that are guarded by benches / wheely bins when they are out at work - also manoeuvring a larger car within the confines of the back streets and the Erskine Terrace cul de sac may be found to be difficult. Would happily return - overall we had a nice break there.

About the location

CONWY

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.
