• "This was an immaculate cottage with all you needed, very very clean."

  Unfortunately my wife was not able to manage the stairs even once a day so we were unable to use the cottage. My son was able to accommodate us nearby by an incredible coincidence. But the cottage is lovely and we must be careful to book properties that are fully suitable for the disabled. Entirely our fault for underestimating our capabilities!!

• "A lovely cosy cosy cottage in the perfect location for exploring all that Snowdonia has to offer."

  The cottage was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The efficient stove was very welcome for keeping us warm. There are amazing walks on the doorstep so no need to drive very far or indeed at all, to enjoy all that this beautiful part of Wales has to offer. Thank you.

• "We’ve just come back from a lovely stay at Peniel Cottage."

  A perfect base from which to explore and enjoy the area around Beddgelert. Very clean and comfortable and our dog, Ted, was made to feel at home with treats and a blanket and a perfect enclosed garden for him to enjoy. It’s in a lovely location with plenty of walks and things to do and see: hills, mountains, waterfalls, woodland, seaside, river walks ……

• "Fabulous property and beautiful, quiet location."

  Everything had been thought of to make our stay the best possible! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to enjoy North Wales. The location is tranquil but within easy reach of many places. We especially enjoyed our circular hike over Aberglaslyn Pass back to the cottage via the Saracens Head for a few drinks. Look forward to returning for a longer stay next time.

• "Our hosts, Jane and Darren were so helpful, and a lovely couple."

  Cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, the only things we can criticise is the parking (which is a bit of a tight fit)and no dryer, although there was a clothes maid to hang the wet things. Location is great, close to bedgellert, Snowdon, Porthmadog and Caernarfon, the bus stop is a few minutes walk down the road. £6 for a day pass, and you can visit everywhere! The local people around the cottage were lovely. The fisherman's walk is a real must if you like a walk, a bit rocky, but we'll worth the effort. We would definitely visit again. • "Cottage was amazing and very peaceful."

  Excellent and clean. It was a great to be able to leave the car and walk into Beddgelert along the river as the weather was dry. The countryside at the rear of the cottage was beautiful. I think the parking details could have been made clearer that it was on the lane as there were vehicles passing it from time to time but our larger car was OK. The neighbours advised us to reverse up the lane (which was only a few meters) which made it easier. Would recommend the owners make the store shed opposite the cottage into say a parking space or open garage if possible. We would certainly consider staying again in the future.

• "Superb location, peace and tranquility ,and knowing that after a day exploring the local area you could return to a clean comfortable cottage ."

  The ‘sounds ‘were amazing, cuckoo calling, the whistle from the steam train passing nearby and many different bird calls. The ‘sights’ were a delight, bluebells in the woods, the rivers tumbling over rocks and the fresh green of the trees. Just 5 minutes down the lane was a bus stop , with a bus every hour to take you cheaply to local places. We highly recommend Peniel Cottage and this area of North Wales.

• "We had a lovely short break away from the big city in a location which completely fitted the bill!"

  ! The cottage fulfilled our requirements - in a nice quiet hamlet just off a (relatively) main road which enabled us to get to places of interest in the area without any bother. We were blessed by good weather which was a bonus, but still nice to return to a nice open fire in the evenings - once we had set it up that is! That was no bother once we had the hang of it! Another bonus was that the owners lived locally and were always friendly and helpful when we needed to contact them.

• "For people over 6ft 3” beds with footboards are an issue."

  Would have been good to have had an old gardening glove, or similar, to open the stove. Instructions regarding the bins - Leave all rubbish in the bins specified (Black bag with landfill waste into blue(?) bin) Place food waste bin outside when you leave.

We do have a pair of heat resistant gloves for the fire in with the kindling and firelighters! We do have clear instructions regarding recycling and landfill next to the back door! Comfortable beds for most! people under 6ft 3inches :))) The beds are clearly shown in the photos and are 6ft 3 long, normal bed length in the UK, it would be impossible for us to accommodate unconventional size long beds in a cottage. • "Really lovely, comfortable cottage in an excellent position for walks from the door, visiting attractions, and the coast."

  The safely enclosed garden is a real bonus for dog owners and a lovely place to sit in the sunshine. Jane and Darren are excellent hosts, even rescuing our grocery delivery when we were delayed by a landslide! Highly recommended.

• "Arrived after a very long drive to a beautiful cottage, very clean and a voucher to a local pizza place and shop which was a lovely surprise."

  Only a few miles away and the pizzas were amazing, really good atmosphere too. The surrounding area is gorgeous and the cottage is perfect location to get to lots of activities, beauty spots and Snowdon. Couldn't recommend this cottage enough and the stone floors are to die for. We will definately be returning Catie, Steve, Mollie and Jaxx Xx

• "A lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful and quiet hamlet, within a few miles of the lovely village of Beddgelert."

  The cottage was very clean and well equipped. Although the cottage had all modern facilities, including a modern kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine etc, a downstairs wet room, Wi-Fi etc, it still maintained the feeling of a traditional cottage. There was plenty of information on things to do, maps, books, games etc. There was even a dog hamper, complete with dog blanket and biscuits, so even our dog was happy! The owners were very friendly and helpful, particularly with helping us with the stove burner. We had everything we needed for a peaceful and relaxing stay, and would definitely recommend.

Peniel cottage is well equipped as it was originally our home so it was designed with comfort in mind and is larger than the average two bed cottage as we had the modern extension on the back to house the full size kitchen & wet room. It retains character as Peniel cottage is a listed building, one of three Quarrymen's cottages, so we needed to keep (& add back in during the many years of renovations) all of the original features. • "Only negative point is the parking."

  You have to park on the lane opposite the cottage with your car right up against a stone wall to ensure other road users can still pass by.

• "The property was beautiful and perfect in every way."

  Finishing touches made it extra special….the Barra brith left for us and dog biscuits and blanket. The traditional style decor and multi fuel stove meant it was cozy and welcoming. The garden being fully enclosed was perfect for our dog.

• "We had a fantastic week at Peniel cottage."

  The cottage was very clean and the little touches like the dog treats and blankets as well as the cake and chocolates left for us were lovely. We did contact the owners Darren and Jane and they were very helpful and offered to come to the cottage as they live close but this wasn’t needed. Would definitely recommend this cottage and would look to book again.

  Everything we needed was provided, and more. We especially loved the little added extras such as the dog basket and welcome hamper. The cottage was beautifully maintained and presented, spotlessly clean, and the beds and sofas were very comfortable. The location was also perfect for us with stunning walks straight from the house and so many lovely places to visit just a short distance away. The owners very very helpful and friendly when we contacted them and had also provided a very extensive welcome and information pack which came in handy. We didn't want to leave and will definitely return.

• "Peniel exceeded our expectations, it is a beautiful cottage sympathetically furnished and I instantly feel in love with it."

  The cottage has a fantastic equipped kitchen with dishwasher something I don't have at home! The bedrooms are standard but the beds and bedding were so comfortable it made it so difficult to get up in the mornings because I was so cosy and snug. The cleanliness of the cottage was superb not a speck of dust. The only negative I can find is the having to light the fire to provide hot water and heating but that's just a personal issue. There are electric heaters and an immersion heater. Hoping to return asap

Bodnant Garden a must for all interested in gardens. Cottage is located in a wonderful position within easy reach of spectacular scenery.

  The cottage was immaculate, comfortable and in a peaceful location near the fishermans path to Beddgelert. It has an enclosed garden and there’s even a second tv in one of the bedrooms should you wish to watch tv in bed, 10/10 from us.

• "Beautiful house!"

  Perfectly situated, stunning hills and walks are literally on the doorstep. House is very well kept and very clean. The owners knew we were nervous about our first holiday away since lockdown and they were so kind and considerate. They even left us some extra cleaning products to make us feel comfortable and there was a delicious freshly baked cake left for us when we arrived! I highly recommend this property

  Thank you for the yummy basket of human treats as well as a basket of fun for our four-legged friend. We all slept incredibly well in the cosy beds. Cottage had everything we needed. All in all, a wonderful stay in Nantmor, a great area for exploring stunning natural beauty.

• "This cottage was like being home from home, fully equipped in a tranquil woodland area close to river walks."

  The Welcome basket with cakes and treats was just what we needed after a long drive. Our dog Mack enjoyed his treats too, with a Welcome basket for him too. Short drive or a pleasant walk into Beddgelert was a great way to relax. It’s definitely a place we will return to.

• "What a fabulous cottage in the middle of Snowdonia, from the moment we arrived it was home from home."

  It is short of nothing for your stay and spotless. The owner was in touch and gave us some good instructions when we landed and there was a lovely treat pack for us and our dog. The garden is very dog friendly and the next door neighbours were lovely. Can’t recommend this cottage highly enough, if we plan a holiday in Snowdonia again it will be top of the list.

  E. a jar of doggy treats, a cake for our arrival etc. really made us feel so welcome. the o my annoyance was the lack of WiFi, which would have helped when planning our days out etc.
