  • "Great property, pictures do no do it justice."

There was ample space for our group who consisted of some big lads. Kitchen is split great so that there's enough room to move around and prepare things at the same time as others. Rooms are spacious and clean with enough shower/bath facilities for all. Easy to get to, safe secure parking. People in the town around the accommodation are very friendly and welcoming.

  • "Thank you for a fantastic stay in Deinolen!"

The property was spotless and absolutely perfect for a weekend with family exploring Snowdonia. The location couldn’t be more ideal and we had everything we needed to have a great long weekend. One small suggestion is to take a look at the Futon in Snowdon room which wasn’t the most comfortable and may need looking at but that’s a minor detail compared to how much we enjoyed our stay. Thanks again for helping us have a wonderful long weekend!

Thank you for the feedback. The sofa bed has been more popular than we anticipated so we are going to replace it with a double bed which will be more comfortable. Property Owner

  • "We rented The Bull accommodation for a special event."

The aim was to climb Snowdon 6 times over 30 hours non stop, this was to raise much needed funds for our niece, Amarli Broome, who lives in NSW Australia, who has a very rare condition Grik2. There were a couple of issues with the property but I would still recommend The Bull to anyone looking for a family or group booking. One of the beds in the downstairs bedroom had faulty slats so couldn’t be used, another issue was that one of the freezers had not been defrosted and the door wouldn’t shut properly. However these issues could be easily resolved and wouldn’t stop us renting this property again.

Thank you for the feedback. A new fridge freezer has been installed. Property Owner

There was lots of space for a large group and it was a great base for all the activities nearby. The owners were lovely and very accommodating to us which we really appreciated. The only negatives are, there needs to be more storage or shelving in the bathroom’s and the sofa wasn’t very comfortable.

We had 4 cars one of which went in the garage. There was only room left for a very small car but generally you would need to be very organised if you had 5 cars. Apart from the above everything was first class and we all had a great time!

Thank you for the feedback. Five cars can fit if very organised! Four in the yard and one in the garage. There is a free car park across the road as well. Property Owner

Downstairs double bed had a few broken slats which I managed to sort myself but the property was just what we needed would definitely use again Might need a rethink on car spaces no chance of 6 cars

Thanks for the feedback, we'll inspect the bed slats and sorry for any inconvenience. We agree that property can accommodate a maximum of five vehicles if closely parked, there is not space for six, but there is a free car park across the road (details are provided in the welcome pack). Plenty of space for all 16 of us, all really clean and bedroom layouts with the mezzanines were great! The pool table and shuffleboard table were a great touch. We will definitely be back next time we want to go up Snowdon.

Thank you for the feedback, we hope to welcome you again. The mezzanies were built from pitch pine recycled from a converted chapel. Our children certainly love staying up there. Property Owner

  • "The property was great for our large party of families who are walkers and cyclists."

We had a great time celebrating a 50th birthday whilst in Wales. Some of our party used the bus to get to Pen Y Pas to walk Snowden which was great. we have left details of how to access this in the property. The facilities for drying etc were also great. The shuffle board and the pool was also a brilliant addition and kept the young adults in our party very entertained. There were a couple of things we felt could have improved our stay. As we did a lot of catering for 20 people, it would be good to have larger pans or to inform us that it is an induction hob, as we brought some large pans with us but could not use them as they are not compatible with the hob. There were no instructions about recycling, despite having different bins for different things. We ended up taking some home with us, Information about Recycling in the local area would also be good. Generally more coat hangers would be helpful, and hooks in the bathrooms or more shelving partcularly in the family rooms. A larger mirror on the wall in the downstairs bedroom would also be helpful. Some more sticks for the fire would also be good, although these can be purchased at the shop next door. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend this property for large parties.

Thank you for the feedback. At the time of your stay waste was placed in one bin and processed by the waste contractor. Recycling is now required at all commercial properties in Wales. Recycling bins are in place at the Bull and clearly marked. We have updated the welcome pack to clarify the kitchen is fitted with induction hobs. We have taken your other points onboard and we always seek to improve the property. Property Owner

The pool table and shuffleboard were a real winner and brought out the competitiveness of us all. The lounge and dining areas and double kitchen were perfect to cater for the number of people. The bedrooms and bathrooms were surprisingly spacious and clean with comfortable beds. Great wifi and just about enough off-road parking with a bit of shuffling. Excellent value for money and in a beautiful setting. Some of us fit in a couple of walks in the local area and a trip to Caernarfon was a treat. A very wet, but fun trip to Zip World which provided further fun and excitement. It would be a perfect base for a walking group to explore Snowdonia, maybe next time. Highly recommended.

We were 10 but you could have a lot more depending on sharing in the numerous bedrooms. The conversion from a pub is truly outstanding and imaginative and the kitchen/dining area is well equipped and able to allow catering for many. The beds were really comfortable. The property has secure parking for 3 relatively large cars and one smaller but you have to shunt around to get in and out. The location of Deniolen is pretty good for access to all of Snowdonia and Anglesey. Supermarkets in Bangor are very good and the convenience store round the corner is useful for basic essentials.

We were 18 strong, ages ranging from one to 66 years old, situated centrally around the attractions we wanted to visit with a well stocked mini mart shop virtually next door. We didn't use the local pub, but that, too, was handy being three doors away. The bedrooms were all appointed well with en-suites, living rooms and games room big enough for us all, kitchen was basically two full kitchens in one, fantastic! Would highly recommend this as a base for exploring beautiful Snowdonia.

I got a very rude and harsh massage from the team member about the key and other things without internal discussion. When I spoke to the team, they confirmed that there were some miss-communication.

Thank you for the feedback. This is the first time that Wi-Fi coverage within the property has been raised as an issue and we will certainly investigate further. After each clean the property is inspected by one of the Owners for cleanlinesses which has ensured high cleaning standards, reflected in the previous good reviews. We spent a wonderful Christmas together, everything was available for us, including a washing machine and drying room, which came in handy after long walks in wet weather, allowing us to dry coats and boots ready for another walk. The area has lots of places to visit, and things to do, even during Christmas week, and we were so pleased with it, that we are booking again for next year. The owners were always available for any questions we had, and very friendly and helpful. Can’t praise this place highly enough.

The disappointment was the mention of a laundry room which turned out to be just a small washing machine with NO drying facility. The washing line outside was equally small not enough to cater for the 20 residents. Sort the laundry situation out and this would have been a perfect score from me.

Thank you for the feedback. The property contains a large purpose built walk-in drying room, which is highly insulated and continuously heated using recycled heat. It is fitted with a self-draining dehumidifier and it is ideally suited for quickly drying large volumes of wet clothing and footwear. It was built with outdoor enthusiasts in mind and it is more versatile and environmentally friendly than standard electric tumble driers. Instructions on use of the drying room are contained in the welcome pack emailed to all guests prior to arrival. As a learning point we will include more photographs in the pack and improve onsite signage. Property Owner

Good communication prior to arrival, we were sent a welcome pack with all details of the property and details of the codes for self-check in. The owner of the property also contacted to check everything was ok after we had arrived, which was a nice touch. The property was clean on arrival. The kitchen is a brilliant set up for large numbers with lots of space for dinner parties (multiple tables to be able to all sit together). Bedrooms all very comfortable with large beds, duvets were crisp although they didn't stay in the quilt covers brilliantly! The fact that there was an en suite in each bedroom made it much easier for families sharing. The showers were reviewed incredibly by all. The games room was also a great touch and much fun was had with the pool and shuffle tables. There isn't much to see/do on the doorstep and takeaways did not offer delivery but it is in a great location in terms of being a short drive from Beddgelert/Snowdon/Porthmadog. Overall we would highly recommend a stay at the Bull and we will be back!

The property

Resting on the high street in the heart of Deinolen village in North Wales is The Bull Inn, a fantastic pub conversion, boasting distant mountain and rural views.

This spacious and unusual property sleeps 20 guests, and is ideal for a large family or group gathering for those keen to explore the nearby Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park.

Parking can be found at the back of the property for six cars, with a set of external steps that leads up to the rear of the property, while the main entrance at the front brings you into a hallway, and the boot room is the ideal place to kick off your walking gear after a long day's adventure.

This bright and spacious property has been well thought out to provide open and spacious feeling rooms, while also carefully sectioning off space, should you wish to relax in a smaller group or by yourself.

The sitting room has a lovely seating area, with six armchairs placed around a circular coffee table, where you can catch up over a hot drink or read a book, while several sofas are carefully placed around the woodburning stove, ideal for a cosy night by the fire with a good book, or turn on the wall-mounted Smart TV for a film night.

The dining room offers three large dining tables, so the whole group can dine together at once should you wish to, with meals prepared in the contemporary kitchen; almost a mirror image of itself, this spacious room doubles up on most of the essential appliances, like an oven, hob, microwave and fridge, so the task of catering to a large group can be less daunting and much more manageable.

The games room is the ideal place to relax in the evening with a game of snooker, with additional seating space and a wall-mounted TV for added entertainment.

The ground floor offers a spacious family room with a super-king-size double bed and two singles, while also benefiting from an en-suite shower room; it's a great, well-contained space for a small family, while the ground-floor bathroom with bath and shower over completes the layout.

Move upstairs to find an additional six bedrooms, each with their own quirk or unique feature; a super-king-size double with dual aspect windows has a staircase up to a mezzanine floor, which hosts an additional single bed and en-suite shower room, a double bedroom with vaulted ceiling and lovely hillside views benefits from an en-suite shower room, a second super-king-size double has a staircase up to a mezzanine seating area and en-suite shower room with Velux windows, a compact single bedroom which feels spacious thanks to high ceilings also benefits from an en-suite shower room, a king-size double has fitted wardrobes and an en-suite shower room, while the largest bedroom, a twin, boasts three windows to showcase the views, an en-suite shower room, a sofa bed and a mezzanine floor with an additional king-size double bed and Velux window.

Spend some time on the enclosed rear patio, admiring the distant rural views as you enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon sun.

About the location

DEINIOLEN

Llanberis 4 miles; Caernarfon 8 miles; Bangor 8 miles.

The village of Deiniolen, housing a village pub and shop, is 4 miles north of Llanberis, on the border of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, making it an ideal base to explore the National Park. The Llanberis Railway runs nearby along the banks of Lake Padarn, whilst the ruins of Dolbadarn Castle are 2 miles away, or visit Ceunant Mawr, a cascading waterfall just outside Llanberis. Local walks lead to the Marchlyn Mawr Reservoir on the northern slopes of Elidir Fawr. Llanberis is 4 miles away and is flanked by two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris and is one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in the Snowdonia National Park. In fact, Llanberis is something of a “mecca” for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) - the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by train, on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Each year, major racing events attract thousands to the area: The fast Snowdon Race to the summit, held in July every year and The Snowdonia Marathon, held in October - a gruelling 26 mile course that starts and finishes in Llanberis, circumnavigating the Snowdon Massif. Within Llanberis itself there are excellent places to eat and drink and a great choice of shopping. On the coast is Caernarfon with its magnificent castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn and Plas Newydd.
