  • "A lovely, rustic little Welsh cottage, but equipped with all the modern conveniences."

Very clean and well laid out. Set in a very pretty village, close to country walks, beaches and many attractions of North Wales. It's ideal for people in a good state of fitness, as it's in a hilly, rocky area. Also a very busy main road runs right past the cottage with no pavements. This can be daunting, and patience is needed when pulling in or out of the small drive. Also, mobile phone reception is poor within the cottage. However the beauty of this place far outweighs the challenges. It was our 5th visit, and we will return.

Mould along window wall and above window of twin bedroom, also some behind wardrobe in double bedroom. Mould also on shower hose. (Change of hose was offered but we were out so asked that it be left until after we came home). Bathroom window catch in unsafe condition. Paint flaking throughout and wallpaper torn and bits hanging off. I have informed the owner of all these defects but no response yet. Had we been aware of these issues we certainly would not have booked it.

It was great to come back to the cottage after being out ( it was when the temperature was 27+) it was cool and because it is an old cottage it was a little dark but great after the bright hot days we had ,the tiles on the floor kept your feet cool. The living room is very dark had to have lights on in June the driveway is so dangerous to get in and out of would hate to see it in July and August the shed in the back garden needs to be condemned and the lack of recycling facilities is shocking

Thank you for your feedback. This is an old Welsh cottages, and the light is typical of the type of property. I do explain about the driveway and that it is always best to reverse in, however, there is a good size, free car park right opposite for guests to use too. The shed/garden room is being removed shortly. In the visitors book, it advises guests that all rubbish is to go into the black bin, which our recycling company will collect and recycle appropriately Thank you again for your comments. The cottage is cosy and perfect for a couple. The back terrace is a sun trap and I frequently had my breakfast there as we had good weather. The location is perfect as it is close to the coast but also away from the crowds. The New Inn next door is well known for good food and so convenient. Don't forget to visit the waterfall and walk the Dyserth- Prestatyn walkway - you can stop for lunch or coffee at Y Shed or St Melyd Golf course. The beaches are all magnificent - visit the new Hub at Rhyl; Harbour over the Pont Y Draig bridge where you can have lunch, coffee or hire bikes. Take a ride on Rhyl Miniature Railway which is over 100 years old. We also visited Bodnant Garden which is always stunning. We had a great week and I would definitely recommend the cottage and would stay again. Debbie provided coffee, tea and sugar and a welcome lemon drizzle was a nice touch. The garden has no grass front or back but there is a grassed area next to the pub where we could take our dog which also has a dog waste bin. There is off road parking for one car.

On arrival it was late but we had no problems gaining entrance and finding some goodies etc in fridge for breakfast etc and everything seemed ok until morning As we were staying 5 weeks we needed to stock up cupboards etc and that’s when we looked more closely at cleanliness of property and it was not clean We had to clean every single kitchen cupboard and all crockery Then clean wooden board in shower as slime on underside and filthy then empty drain in shower Cleaned all tiled floors throughout after taking up and storing stained rugs in kitchen and hallway Washer was full of dog hairs and product drawers were slimy and old product Not a good experience to start with gave all this in writing to the Manager along with small list of repairs on vacating property who promised to rectify problems however not what we expected We’ve stayed at other holiday cottages and never had these experiences plus we have always had an arrival info pack which was definitely missing here so no info on such things as bin day and recycling procedures for food waste etc Not a problem with property Manager once problems notified but unfortunately not a good review

The owner of the cottage did contact you three times during your stay to ask if everything was ok for you. None of the issues that you have mentioned were reported to her. They would have been more than happy to resolve these for you during your stay to ensure the holiday ran smoothly for you. This feedback is not typical of comments this property receives from Customers as this cottage is of a very high standard. The owner is an excellent owner and prides themselves in the way that they look after their properties. They do provide a full information pack that contains all the relevant information needed for Customers stays. The owner was very accommodating during your stay & allowed access to their driveway for your extra guests to park We want all our Customers to enjoy their stay at our cottages. If there are any problems with your cottage, please let the owners know as soon as possible so they can put this right for the rest of your stay. Property Owner

We stayed for a month between the sale and the purchase of a property. Cottage was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen stocked with everything you could need. Back garden was secure for our dog. Off road parking space for a large car at the front. Also plenty of parking in streets around if you have more than one car. Strong wifi, and two smart tv's. The host Debbie couldn't do enough for you to make your stay an enjoyable one. The new inn is great for food and the red lion is good for a casual drink. Plenty of good walks available straight from the front door. Highly recommended.

Only 1 egg cup between 4 people. No dishes glass or plastic for fruit, dogs food or water etc, no vegetable knife and worst of all no recycling bin. The cottage it self was beautiful and comfortable but a real let down with lack of utensils.

We take pride in checking that the cupboards are checked for all utensils etc after every guest but unfortunately these things must have been missed, we take pride in replacing/purchasing items that guests leave us notes about, its in our interest to keep the cottages stocked of what's needed. Cottage well equipped with everything we needed for our 5 night stay and was literally opposite the Dyserth waterfall.. The owner Debbie, couldn't have been more helpful and hand delivered a fresh cream welcome cake which was delicious. It was very modern yet retained its character. It was really cosy, the beds were so comfortable and the shower was brilliant. My friend also used the bath on a couple of occasions and loved it. I rang the owner when we arrived as we couldn’t connect the wi fi. She was actually at the airport on the way to her holiday but very kindly said she would contact her son in law to call round and sort it out, which he did. We were lucky with the weather so were able to have a few nice trips out to neighbouring resorts. All in all we had a great holiday and would certainly recommend the cottage.

  • "The decor of the cottage is lovely and clean."

The bed was massive and comfy. So pleased there was a bath so many places just have showers. It lovely to have the choice. I love a bath. Though I do think there is a little issue with hot water. Loved the log burner and with it being so rainy and cold we used it a bit. The kitchen was absolutely fine for our cooking needs. Having WiFi was great not because wanting to keep up with social media or work but to keep in-touch with the boys at home because there was no phone signal. Having Netflix on the tv was amazing. We just logged into our account and watched films in front of the cozy log burner. I think slippers are a must with the tiled floors. The road is a bit airy straight out of the gate so be careful crossing the road near the blind bend. The enclosed back was good so we didn’t have to worry about leaving the patio door open for the dog. The waterfall just over the road is really lovely and a nice walk but steep. 50p admission. We went to the pub next door one evening for our tea. The food was amazing but a bit pricey for us. Couldn’t eat there all week. There is a nice walk into Dyserth . Thought steep. You take the right straight after the waterfall cafe it is sign posted public walkway. It’s quiet a few steep steps. But at the top is a butchers, farm shop, pub and a little Spa supermarket. We used the cottage as a base and went to Rhyl and Prestatyn. Which personality were rubbish. We went to Llandudno and that was a lot better. We also visit Denbigh castle and town. The castle was worth the £4-00 admission to have a wander round and in the town we visited the Glass onion cafe for lunch. Which was worth a visit. We sat outside in the sun with having a dog.
