  • "Fabulous holiday and great hosts."

Relaxing location which helped us to completely unwind from work stresses. Paul and Caroline couldn't do enough for us, and the cottage was fully equipped with everything we needed.

  • "Situated in a beautiful quiet valley, the cottage couldn't have been more suitable for a restful break."

It is well equipped, tastefully modernised and with ample garden to keep our dog happy while we enjoyed the views from the sunny patio. The owners were very friendly and obviously gave some thought to the needs of their customers; all the knifes in the kitchen had been sharpened, which is a first for us in twenty years of staying in holiday cottages, take note Sykes !

  • "Beautiful cottage in very rural area; unfortunately there was a loose metal roof on a cowshed across the lane which was banging in the wind making it less peaceful."

The cottage was beautiful, clean and welcoming - treats for dog and tea/coffee provided. Lovely wood burner - the dog enjoyed laying in front of it after a days hiking; the beds, however were very hard and it was difficult to get a good nights sleep esp in the double bed. Owners lived next-door but were very unobtrusive; we didn't see or hear any of the other guests during our stay. Biggest bugbear was the 9am checkout, which if I'd have noticed this beforehand, would have prevented me from booking this particular cottage, especially as we had to clean, clear and sort out the recycling etc. before we left, leaving the cottage as we found it - owner was around just after 9am to make sure everyone was out. This made the last night/morning a less than relaxed experience which was a shame on an otherwise pleasant break. All in all, some easily rectifiable issues which would make this cottage a 10/10.

  • "Absolutely perfect!"

The backdrop of the cottage is incredible, in a tranquil and beautiful valley, with 360 degree views. The cottage itself is wonderful with all the comforts one needs, plenty of space, rapid internet and even Disney+ for the children. The decor and cleanliness were also top notch, and the hosts fantastic. I cannot recommend Bwthyn Pennant more highly!

  • "A comfortable, well equipped cottage set in a very beautiful remote valley."

The dog enjoyed the garden (thank you for the treats!) and when we could sit out it was beautiful. For us an added bonus was a dedicated electric charging point, almost an essential for an electric vehicle in this part of Wales. The weather was unfortunately very wet, restricting the number of many beautiful local walks we could do. Drying outdoor clothes was not easy (perhaps we should have used the log burner) but otherwise the central heating was efficient.Driving to the farmhouse was challenging!...a winding road ,barely a car's width, stretched for more than 3 miles from the main road, (reversing prowess necessary) We enjoyed the area and found the hosts welcoming and very helpful.

  • "Wonderful area, and the house was so clean everything looked new."

The little kitchen was really well designed and had a lot of cupboard space and we had everything we needed for our stay. Area was beautiful and quiet, and we loved sitting outside and looking at the views down the valley when the weather allowed. We thoroughly recommend this place to everyone.

  • "The owners had provided every single thing anyone could need and the cottage was spotlessly clean."

They were there if we needed them but unobtrusive. Lovely couple indeed. The views were wonderful and you could walk out of the cottage and see streams and mountains. Could only hear birds and sheep. The garden was used by us a lot and although shared everyone kept to their own bit and even the shared area was not used very much by others as people are out a lot exploring the area. We didn’t want to leave. Would highly recommend.

  • "Wonderful cottage in a wonderful location."

The lane is a bit scary at first but after a couple or trips back and forth it was fine. Cottage is fantastic and everything you need is there (except food of course). Paul and Caroline were great hosts and checked if everything was ok after the first night. Can't fault anything and it was exactly what we expected and wanted for our stay. Many thanks.

  • "Possibly the worst the weather and driving conditions Ive ever been in."

But I knew the weather would be bad so wasn’t bothered. All we wanted was a lovely cottage with a log fire. The cottage was remote and quiet. Very peaceful. Very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. A little colder than our own house but then it’s 500 years old so was expected. Would love to visit again the summer.

Really lovely cottage to get away from it all. The cottage had everything we needed and the garden space was ideal for the dog and us, including outdoor seating and BBQ. Although the main garden area is shared with the two other holiday cottages patio area still very private. The valley is picturesque with lots of walks from the front door and a lovely stream running through. Great views out to sea as you drive away from the cottage back to the main road.

It was very well equipped with everything we needed, including wood and fire lighting equipment to make sure we could enjoy the fire in the living room The only negative was that the bed was quite hard. I know that is a personal preference, but it was the only negative we had on the whole experience

What a delightful last minute find this cottage was, complete with a massive inglenook fireplace and 'secret' stone spiral staircase. Warm and cosy with everything you need supplied, with good wifi. Its set about 4 miles in the most wonderful valley with walks in every direction from the doorstep.
