  • "Lovely property which needs a bit of updating, carpets very stained and bath looked worse for wear, looks like previous flood damage."

Beautiful views, peaceful and quiet. Everything needed in the lodge making it very homely after a long day out walking. We loved it being secluded, but commented we were happy the cottage wasn’t being used as might have felt odd sitting out and watching others in the cottage garden. Perfect lodge for a perfect week away x

  • "Great location and overall the lodge was lovely."

We loved it being so remote, that’s why we picked it. Absolutely stunning views and the garden being enclosed really helps with the dog. There are sheep wondering round the field’s and great walks on your doorstep. There is a lovely farm shop who serve food on the main road about 10 minutes away if that and a spar just a little further on. Fantastic week away.

  • "Positives Great spacious lodge, comfy beds, great views and amazing sunsets, large living areas, good size kitchen which had a washing machine (not mentioned in the list of amenities, so a welcome surprise), great shower in main bedroom."

Ample cutlery, plates, pans etc Peaceful and quiet Negatives- carpets in all rooms grubby and stained, blind in twin bedroom would not open and therefore in darkness all the time, clutter (shells on headboard in double bedroom and surface divider in kitchen. Things left in freezer when we arrived and obviously not checked by cleaner. Had two '3 words' links in address which took us to wrong place Very rural (which isn't indicated in advert) so not great with 3 kids

  • "If you want total peace with amazing views of porth Neigwl, and Abersoch, then this is the place for you."

The Lodge is beautifully furnished and decorated, light and airy with every comfort, a real home from home. The beds are comfy and plenty of wardrobe space so for a family it’s ideal. For EV drivers there are sufficient charging points in the area, we found the best one was in Tremadog.

One small problem for us was that having an old dog the decking was slippery in the rain.

Make sure you arrive in daylight as the tracks to the lodge aren’t easy to find. The only one thing to note is that access to the holiday cottage below is via the garden of the lodge and the path passes the bedroom window re privacy.

Just a couple of minor gripes the oven had not been cleaned? and there was no shelf in the shower! But on the whole a very pleasurable holiday, the views were brilliant. A 10 out of 10 holday. Thanks.

  • "This is a truly lovely place."

It feels that you are in the middle of nowhere but are not far away from all of the amenities and fun if you want it. The lodge is lovely and the outside seating is great and very substantial. The beds are very comfy, especially the main bedroom. Water pressure and showers perfect! The view is to die for. It is so very peaceful. I would definitely want to return. Just a few niggles, but nothing that would make me not book here again; the road is extremely bumpy with potholes on the national trust lane, we were surprised when we got there as there was a car parked on the drive next to the lodge and we thought the cleaner was still there, however, it was the tenants of the cottage below, this was not a problem but we were not told. There weren't many large cooking pans, but that sounds sad as there was a bbq and places to eat out, although there was some privacy if the cottage below was very near you could hear them, we were fine as there was a lovely young family there who also wanted privacy. Their little dog came into the lodge a few times, but we found that funny. However, we were warned by the owner about this and to keep logs on a lead. Overall an amazing place and perfect if you want to book both the cottage and the lodge!

  • "I almost don't want to tell people how good this place is incase it's full all year and I can't get back there!"

What a fantastic place. The lodge is decorated beautifully, so light and fresh with everything you need and more! I had been looking for a place that had to tick a fair few boxes to accommodate my parents and our pooch, which wasn't easy but Sunstone lodge ticked every box and exceeded our expectations. With four adults and a dog we never felt on top of each other as there is plenty of space. A fantastic sized garden for the dog which is completely secure and gated so he had plenty of space to mooch about it in safety. Super clean, very well looked after, comfy sitting room, comfy beds, great showers and everything you need in the kitchen. Surrounded by so much wonderful wildlife and the best views of the beach and the coastlines. The furniture on the decking is super comfy you can sit and look at the amazing views for hours. There's lots to explore around the lodge and a coastal path on the doorstep. This really is a wonderful place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone. We've stayed in a lot of lodges but this is the first one we've found that will be going back to and we can't wait! Even the dog is a little sad we are back home. 5 stars

Tastefully decorated and really well equipped with everything we needed. Comfy beds, good showers, and lots of dvds and board games to keep the little ones entertained. The location is idyllic, on a headland surrounded by sea and mountains in every direction, and only a 10 minute drive from the shops/restaurants/beach in Abersoch. The coastal path is on the doorstep, and leads down to long quiet beach with lots to explore, and so much space. We had the best time, was great to see the children exploring and enjoying being outdoors. Some great memories made. Thank you.

About the location

ABERSOCH

Pwllheli 6 miles.

The attractive harbour village of Abersoch is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in a region of Wales renowned for its outstanding scenery and varied walking. The village, situated between two glorious bays, is one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales and important sailing regattas are held there throughout the summer months. Numerous shops cater for the tourist as well as pubs, restaurants and cafes. There are also opportunities for golfers as there is a course just outside the village and horse riding facilities are also available nearby. Watersports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Port Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth). The long, sandy Abersoch Main Beach is probably the most popular beach in the area. There is a wonderful selection of beaches in the surrounding area of the Llyn Peninsula, including the beautiful and often quiet Porth Ceriad, with it's high cliffs, and sandy Porth Oer ("Whistling Sands"). Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore.
