  • "What a fantastic place to stay and enjoy the beautiful weather, nature and sea."

All was perfectly ready for our stay and we enjoyed the time that we spent there. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. Aneta, Pati & Jessie.

  • "Great location for walking the coastal path."

On the door step of a dog friendly beach (stoney). Could do with a mirror on the wall in the bedroom and an oven glove in the kitchen. Kitchen was adequately well kitted out. Comfortable bed. Good sized shower. Bedroom headroom was worse than anticipated.

  • "COLBAB 2023 Our weeks holiday was restful & relaxing in a most beautiful area of Wales ."

The weather was quite kind to us - 4 out of 7 days of sunshine . On his first visit to the beach was our border collie dog , who spent many happy hours splashing about in the sea . We even saw a Seal near to the shore line . As a public footpath ran past the property, busy at times Walkers plus dogs off the lead .Our dog was leashed on an extending lead as garden not fenced . He contented. Beach short walk away , mainly deserted given mid Summer and weather decent. Haven for bird watching - hearing and seeing Property was clean comfy and cosy . Bedding and towels were clean and fresh smelling . leaflets on places to visit were plentiful - we would have found it useful to have places to eat or food for delivery included. local shops etc Would have been nice to have been met when first arrived as opposed to having to read the information folder for basic guidance.didnt feel very welcoming Day1 we ran out of gas, on reporting dealt with quite quickly . Peter a relative of the owner was helpful- sorting gas replacement . loft style bedroom was minimal ,low ceiling took a while to remember hence first few days sore heads ,it does state this in information booklet, maybe an overhead sign would be a prompt ?

  • "Very disappointing and very poor value for money."

Assumed by description " perfect for romantic break " the property would be cosy and tastefully furnished, instead most of the furniture and ornaments were tatty and looked as if they been pulled from a junk sale ( nothing complemented or matched). Remnants of splattered white pain on the floor and furniture. Overall not very clean. Double homestyle bedroom only really suitable for people no taller than 5 ft- so easy to continually bump our heads when moving around the bedroom on the low celings . It mentions mind head on first floor - assumed that meant when entering the room from the steep steps and not something you have to continue to be vigilant about when moving around the bedroom. Instructions mentions two ways of accessing the property but did not mention that only one option is available on first arrival as the second option is only accessible once you have the keys to the property - to unlock a gate. The option we first chose did not work for us as we did not have the gate key so we had to turn around , call Sykes office for directions and access it via the other option- so wasted our holiday time and made us quite frustrated. We paid about £831 for 3 nights = £277 per night -not at all worth it . Expected a much higher level of accomodation for that amount of £ !

  • "The accomodation was dirty and tired and after contacting Sykes who sent individuals to look at the property we were offered £86 which we declined and then an email to say Sykes had closed the case and refunded £100 without further negotiation!"

Very unhappy and only wish I could post photos.

  • "Absolutely fantastic place to stay."

In a fantastic setting . We had 2 dogs and was absolutely perfect. Only time had to get in car was shopping . Sits right in the coastal path and just able to walk out the door , and walk to pwethelli , abersoch, llanbedrog , and further afield should you wish . Will definitely book again to same place as many more places to visit .

  • "I had a 3 night stay at Bwythyn Byg with my two dogs."

It was an ideal property and location for someone wanting to walk and explore the area with their dogs as it's on the coastal path with the beach right outside the door! The annexe has a huge garden and safe space for dogs to run free, although it is not enclosed, if your dogs are likely to run off. Cheryl, the owner, is very welcoming and helpful, even providing some Welsh shortbread, which was a lovely touch. I would definitely return if holidaying in the area again.

  • "Although the accommodation is small you have everything you need."

The location is fantastic and provides a great base to explore from. One minute from the beach which was so quiet. Right on the coastal path too. Birds galore in the garden. Cheryl the owner was so helpful and friendly. We had a brilliant few days.

  • "The cottage is in a beautiful location a mixture of stunning countryside and seaside."

The beach is literally a minutes walk away and a great spot if you have a 4 legged friend! The coastal path literally runs at the side with Pwllheli and Llanbedrog around 45 mins walk, or 5 mins drive away. Abersoch is only another 15 mins drive. The accommodation is compact, but clean and very characterful. All facilities provided, you just need to take your food & clothes. Cheryl even provided some milk, eggs and tea. Great garden area if you're lucky with the weather! Cheryl was very helpful with local information and was on hand if we needed anything! We will definitely be back at some point!

  • "Lovely setting close to the beach and the coast path."

Cheryl was the perfect host. Very knowledgeable about the area and places to visit. The property itself is small but contains everything you need for the perfect stay.I have never seen a bird feeder that attracts woodpeckers and Jay's, both were constant visitors. All in all a great place for us to relax before returning to the everyday routine. Would recommend to couples wanting a peaceful haven far from the madding crowd

We were able to make the most of its great position on the coastal path and we loved seeing all the birds and wildlife in the area. We also even managed to walk to the local pub one night. The owner was really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
