  • "We stayed here for a few days and it was wonderful."

Our hosts made us feel welcome right from the start. We ordered cream tea from them one evening and it was delicious! Would definitely recommend other guests do the same. It was so peaceful at night too. Wasn't too far to Lincoln for a day trip out as well. Was great to see that you can now get into the grounds of Lincoln Castle without having to pay. Did a ghost walk around Lincoln too at night, Definitely another thing to try if you're there. Very clean and tidy property with everything we needed.

Thank you very much for your lovely review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Nicola x Property Owner

  • "Hillcrest is such a lovely place."

Firstly, Malcolm & Nicola are lovely hosts. Warm and friendly people who care about the people who stay at Hillcrest. The house was very comfortable. A welcome box of goodies awaits you to start you off on your stay. Hillcrest sports Super King beds in both bedrooms. Large comfortable lounge. Equipped with TV, DvD player & electric fire. Well equipped kitchen. There's everything you need to cook up any meal. A home from home. Bathroom + toilet is downstairs. Powerful shower over bath with bath/shower mixer tap. Very well heated, with central heating radiators in every room, can be set via local timer and one touch operation. Open the double patio doors from the lounge and invite in the hugh garden space with large lawn where children can play, or your pets can run about. Its bordered by a gravel driveway, leading down to double driveway gates. Space for multiple cars. Over all, Hillcrest is an outstanding place to stay. The peace and tranquility at Hillcrest wraps around you like a comfort blanket, you'll find hard to leave behind. Hillcrest is not too far from Gainsborough and Lincoln. We found the George pub at Kirton Lindsay is a good place for food. With plenty of other places around. Theres a small shop like a Spar or OneStop just a few miles away. Its good for picking up your smaller items like, milk, bread etc. We would for certain, recommend Hillcrest to others. We hope we can return soon.

Wow, thank you so much for this brilliant and detailed review of our cottage. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We try to provide guests with what we would expect ourselves. It is so pleasing when you get it right. Nicola x Property Owner

  • "Would have been a higher recommendation rating but there is no where to hang wet clothes inside after getting drenched by the weather."

Lack of food storing space, maybe a cupboard on the wall left of the oven would be useful. Not for elderly people, the bathroom is downstairs accessed by steep stairs, my aunt visited the toilet twice in the night everyday so had to sleep on the sofa downstairs as she needed help getting up and down the stairs.

Thank you for your feed back. I am sorry you did not find anywhere to hang wet clothes, there is a hook in the bathroom and also in the understairs cupboard there are lots of hook, we also provide a clothes horse which could have been used. With regards to storage of food, the fridge is a big american style fridge that alot of food could go in, also there is a worktop in the utility and a nice wooden box that could be used for food storage, in the cupboard under the stairs there is some shelves with wicker baskets in, this could also have been used. With regards to the bathroom downstairs, I am really sorry it was a problem but it clearly states in the details of our property that the bathroom is downstairs. I really hope you still managed to enjoy your stay and it was nice to meet you. Property Owner

My only suggestion would be to mention the power station in your property description and that it is now decommissioned - it is a significant element in the local area and would have put us off booking the property had we looked on Google maps before we booked as we would have assumed it was still in operation.
