"Accommodation was excellent: ideally located for walking into Shrewsbury, retail park and supermarket nearby."
Close to the A5 for exploring the area by road. Accommodation was clean, well equipped, quiet and peaceful with off road parking. Cake, wine, tea, coffee and milk as a welcome.

"We had a most enjoyable week at Kemps Eye cottage."
Vanessa and Mark were very warm and friendly helping us with the TV on the first day. This also involved Charlie their son and he was just as helpful. Thank you to you all. We really enjoyed your beautiful garden. We would definitely return if we were younger but distance is too far for us now.Thank you Vanessa for your generous welcome pack.
-
"Very comfortable cottage, generously equipped, with space and lovely garden views."
A warm and friendly welcome from the owners with lovely personal touches - cake, flowers, wine. A great base for exploring the area!
-
"Nice location, nice owner and nice cotage."
I could find everything I needed in the cottage. There're nothing to complain about. We didn't have a car but for four weeks of our stay, we didn't feel any inconvenience at all. It was worth visiting Shrewsbury and staying at Kemps Eye Cottage after 14 hours flight.
-

Very comfortable, clean, with everything you would need. The garden fantastic, with a brook runningthrough that you can fish in.So peaceful and yet a 20 minute walk from the vibrant town of Shrewsbury with many things to see and do. Can’t thank Vanessa and family enough for all the hard work in making this cottage and garden perfect would gladly return.
-
"The accommodation was very well equipped and comfy."
It had plenty of room. The garden is breathtaking, lawn, river, ducks, birds and squirrels. The host, Vanessa, was very helpful and the gift of milk, wine and cake very welcome.
-
"A beautiful, warm, comfortable property."
Wonderful location.
-
"Lovely cottage within a beautiful garden."
Lovely large bed, fitted wardrobes and on-suite bathroom. Enjoyed sitting in the conservatory on sunny days or in the lounge. Now and then you could hear golfers teeing up on the golf course, just over the river. Shrewsbury town centre is not far away and is steeped in history.
-

"Excellent spacious and comfortable accommodation."
Beautiful rural setting but within easy walking distance of Shrewsbury town centre and a car journey of about ten minutes to shops and supermarkets. Along with friendly and welcoming owners it made for a lovely break.
-
"Kemps Eye Cottage suited us perfectly, great location for exploring Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas."
The cottage was so clean, the conservatory overlooking the pretty gardens was a lovely place to sit and enjoy a slice of delicious homemade cake that was there to welcome us on arrival, and everything was provided to make our stay extremely comfortable, can’t recommend it highly enough.
-
"A beautiful place to stay , the accommodation is so lovely and comfortable , it as everything you need to cook your own meals , plenty of pubs & places to eat nearby , just a 20 to 25 minute walk into Shrewsbury Town Centre ."
Will definitely recommend and will return.

"Once again I could not fault my stay at Kemps Eye Cottage."
Vanessa, Mark and their family are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble and I can honestly say that they go above and beyond to make sure that my stay was a happy one. Will be booking again
-
"An absolutely wonderful property, with marvellous hosts."
Nothing was too much trouble - not that anything needed changing, it was all just lovely.
-
"Very comfortable and well equipped cottage."
Situated about 20 minutes walk from the centre of Shrewsbury but very quiet and peaceful location. The garden is very pretty with rabbits, squirrels and loads of birds to watch. The owners were very welcoming. If we return to the area we would certainly book again.
-
"This was my first visit to Shrewsbury, it is stunning a lovely place and there is plenty to do in the town,I didn’t manage to do everything I had planned in a week."
The location of the cottage could not be better a ten minute walk into the town centre. Mark and Vanessa the owners who live attached to the annex are very nice and make you feel welcome. The annex is great, quite large for a one bedroom and cosy, but the best part of Kemps Eye Cottage for me was the outside space, it has a big garden with various sitting areas overlooking a brook and golf course at the bottom of the garden and the annex has its own private patio (large) the garden and patio get the sun all day. Also great to have the driveway parking right next to the annex, you can go out all day and leave your car at the house and not have to worry about it. If you are looking for a holiday rental in Shrewsbury I recommend Kemps Eye Cottage.
-
"The view from the cottage was better than expected from the pictures on the website."
You approach the property down an urban road, cross a cattle grid and arrive at a most unexpectedly peaceful place. Very friendly and helpful hosts. An excellent centre for many attractions.
-
"Great location with lovely view, ideal to walk to town centre (15 minutes) The accommodation was excellent and met all our needs."
We would recommend booking this cottage.
-

-
"A cottage in a rural setting, in the middle of an urban development."
Large garden, beautifully maintained with the added attraction of visiting wildlife. Can’t praise the owners of this property highly enough.
-
"The location was brilliant."
Only about 15 mins walk to Shrewsbury town centre and yet set in a lovely location overlooking the golf course and a brook at the bottom of the garden. Lovely welcoming touch of a bottle of prosecco and milk on arrival. We were greeted by the owners who were very friendly, together with thier 2 dogs.
-

Had a very relaxing break and would highly recommend it.
-
"Kemps eye cottage in Shrewsbury was a delight to stay at."
The views from the cottage was stunning & the cottage itself was spotlessly clean & had everything you could want. The hosts were very welcoming & friendly. There is a lovely walk by the river to the centre which only takes about 15 minutes. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.
-
"This was a brilliant place to stay and in some respects the listing didn’t quite do it justice."
The situation and outlook are first class. We were delighted with our holiday and certainly hope to return.
-

Owners couldn’t be more helpful. Fantastic location perfect surroundings. Shrewsbury is a wonderful place & of course Shropshire is a hidden gem!
-
"The cottage was very comfortable and the location was beautiful."
Not overlooked except by a railway line which was a novelty and not a very busy line. We even saw a steam train! Large garden laid to lawn down to a small river bordered by mature trees. We enjoyed a very pleasant holiday.
-
"Kemps Eye Cottage was a delight from first entering the property and grounds."
It is situated in the most beautiful tranquil and peaceful surroundings. It is incredible to think that you are so near to Shrewsbury. The Cottage is spacious, extremely clean and well equipped, very comfortable furnishings all to help you relax, which is so easy when you are there. The owners Vanessa and Mark were a joy to meet and most welcoming as was the dogs. We cannot wait to return. There is a wealth of places to visit in the area from National Trust Properties and Gardens to picturesque Towns and Villages.
-
"An absolute gem of a cottage."
Clean, spacious, beautifully decorated throughout and Vanessa and Mark are loveliest owners you could wish to meet. The cottage is set in extensive grounds which are a delight to return to after a day out, and the two resident dogs are always there to greet you on your return (don't forget to have some doggie treats handy)! You can walk into town in around 15-20 minutes or there is a bus every 20 minutes......but the buses finish running shortly after eight which is worth knowing if you dine out at one of the restaurants recommended by Vanessa and Mark. We loved The Armoury. We were intending to return here next year even before my husband realised that he could fish in the brook at the bottom of the garden. Now it's a no-brainer!
-
"As I can't get around very well keeps eye was just the place for me ."
Birds rabbits squirrel all were around every day .on the Sunday we were treated to a fox who went round the garden for a good 10 to15 minutes before going through the hedge .Vanessa and Mark were very friendly

"Best of all worlds, peaceful, gorgeous setting and yet just 15 minutes walk from Shrewsbury town centre with all of it's architecture, museums, bars and restaurants, so location was spot on and the actual property was simply wonderful for my wife and I to enjoy some well deserved battery-charging time together."
-
"An excellent holiday cottage with everything you would ever need and more to ..."
An excellent holiday cottage with everything you would ever need and more to make your stay enjoyable even home cooked cakes and drink provided by owner Lovely surroundings and only a short walk to Shrewsbury Lots to see nearby and many walks too Thoroughly recommended
-
"Lovely clean accommodation."
It was just a short walk to the town centre but felt like you were in the middle of the countryside. Would definitely recommend staying here.
-
"Very well equipped, spacious, light and airy accommodation, friendly helpful owners."
Delightful location overlooking the Rea Brook. Cosy when it was cold out, lovely in the conservatory when it was warm. This cottage is comfortable and homely whatever the weather. Ideal peaceful location for exploring the area. Buses to town every 20 mins during the week. Or a 15 minute walk to the Greyfriars Bridge and then the riverside and town centre. Walks from the property include the Rea Brook and Shropshire Way. The owners very kindly collected us from the station. We wouldn't have needed a car for our holiday taking advantage of the local buses and a fixed fare Taxi to/from Attingham Park (Shrewsbury Taxis). Bus 576 from town goes to Oswestry meandering through villages and countryside. We were impressed that instructions (such as for using the TV) were so simply laid out and crystal clear. Other owners please note! We appreciated the owners' kindness and generosity in making sure this was one of our best holidays with Sykes.

"Beautiful place in amazing grounds."
Friendly owners. Perfect for a relaxing holiday

"Kemp’s Eye Cottage is lovely, I was especially struck by the welcome, the peacefulness and the beautiful location."

"The owner was very helpful and although they lived next door we felt we had the place to ourselves."
Not at all intrusive and gave us a nice cake and bottle of wine to welcome us. I would gladly recommend this property to anyone considering a stay in Shrewsbury.
-
"It was a lovely cottage in very pretty surroundings."
Close to town centre. Hosts could not have been better. Didn't want to leave.
-
"The location is brilliant."
Shrewsbury town centre is walkable in about 15 minutes. Alternatively, there is a bus stop about 5 minutes away. We didn't take a car, and didn't need one. The setting is great. Every room looks out on a large beautifully-kept lawn which slopes down to a winding brook. Beyond that is a golf course. Very secluded and peaceful. The owner is the perfect host - available to help when needed, but otherwise leaves you alone to do your own thing. Plus, we really appreciated the bottle of wine and home-made sponge cake waiting in the kitchen when we arrived. If I'm ever vacationing in the Shropshire area again, this will be my first choice of accommodation.
-
"This was a return visit and we were not disappointed with the cottage and surrounding area which had great places of interest."
the owners are exceedingly welcoming. Propose to return soon.
-
"Vanessa was an outstanding hostess."
When we were lost in Shrewsbury, she came to lead us to the cottage. The cottage is very spacious, seemed even larger than it appeared on the website. Bus service into the city center was excellent. It was amazing to be in a cottage that felt like a farm, but is in a busy city.
-
