  • "The bike shed was spacious enough for our visit, it had some beautiful views straight from the balconies."

The marina is sited next to alot of garages, with a workshop right next door which was a little noisy at times. The bike shed was clean but there was old dusty cobwebs in every room above head height some even in the door ways. Every chair and sofa had seen better days apart from the two bar stools and the chair in the nook. All the dining chairs had no cushioning left in the seat, you basically sat on the frame with what was left of the leather covering. Noone used them they were too uncomfortable. The black sofa had rips behind the back cushions, and you sat so far back on the other sofa that it obviously was supposed to have a loose cushioned back, but only had two tiny scatter cushions. We had to use pillows to get comfortable. The beds were very firm with dips and rises in the mattresses, definitely need replacing. Only the main bathroom had a proper bathroom lock that you can unlock from outside all the enquires had a bolt, which resulted in someone being locked in as they couldn't unbolt it. It is very dangerous for the younger children. The ground floor ensuite was only lit by one down light which left it feeling dark, dingy and dirty. And their room door was not a fire door or substantial as it had wooden slats that you could see through the gaps in between, not very private for a bedroom. For 10 people sharing the kitchen did have two oven but the fridge and freezer where far too small. It was a good base but a bit rough around the edges. Would benefit from a bit of tlc.

  • "The photos do not do this place any justice, the Bile Shed is very spacious and provided the perfect base for us."

The rustic decor is favourite for me Catering equipment and kitchen was very good and catered for us all. Nice long dining table allowed us all to be together for meals and evenings for games. Lounge area in the open plan area was good, weather too warm for us to use the log burner which was provided with adequate wood and kindling. Outside balcony with view tops it all off! With 4 toilets/shower rooms, this meant no waiting and showers were lovely, just what the body needs have a long day walk, climb, hike, Overall, very impressed, would not hesitate to stay here again. Only minor improvements I can suggest from our party: Bigger TV screen, wifi drops out regularly (the kids), New non stick pan (the cooks) More pillows on the settee (the women). I thought it was pretty much perfect for me.

We stayed for a Christmas themed weekend and the kitchen was easily equipped to make a roast for 10 people! The staff were exceptional and made the experience more magical, she turned the heating on for our arrival and was always so jovial when we saw her around, it was a pleasure to meet her and stay in this beautiful place.
