  • "Highbury cottage is a beautiful cottage, set in lovely countryside."

We were able to have lovely walks straight from its door. The cottage is extremely cosy indoors, with interesting pictures on the wall, so that it doesn't have the 'barren' look that some holiday cottages have. We have rented many cottages over the last 40 years and this is one of the best we have stayed in. It was very well equipped, and though one-bedroomed, there was plenty of room for a couple. Lots of cupboard and wardrobe space too. We would recommend it to any couple looking for a quiet country retreat.

  • "Perfect! We were 100% happy with our stay in this lovely little cottage."

The friendly owner, Jeff, came out to meet us as we arrived and made sure that we had everything that we needed in our holiday accommodation. He'd left fresh fruit, breakfast cereals, tea, coffee, sugar and milk for our use and the cottage was well equiped with everything that we needed (and more). It was lovely and clean and it was easy to keep it so. Jeff discovered that we were driving an electric car and he told me that he'd been thinking about getting one himself and having an EV charging point installed. We found plenty of places to charge, the one at our nearest Tesco Extra being the most convenient for us. It's from here that the Park and Ride bus goes from too. We're looking forward to staying again sometime!

Most things you could need are available and well layed out. Our host Jeff is a nice friendly gentleman, with whom nothing seems to be to much trouble. This was our 2nd stay, and we had some nice days out without having to travel too far, with enough still to do for next time. The cottage is reasonably easy to find, and even though it is in a rural location it is only 10mins travelling time from the lovely town of Shrewsbury.

It was certainly the best equipped place I've ever stayed in. Sending out the 'welcome pack' in advance made it easier to acclimatise to both the cottage and the area, and the fact that the owner was nearby and always prepared to help or advise proved to be a bonus. The cottage had the huge advantage of being situated in a quiet country area while being within easy reach of Shrewsbury in order to access bus and train networks, but it was also central enough that a great many places of interest could also be reached by car. I would have no hesitation in staying there again as well as recommending it to others.

Another plus point is having a bath as well as a shower in the property. The cottage also had its own private garden which was a real suntrap - complete with table, chairs & parasol. The owner was most helpful and friendly and emailed all the instructions to us in advance of our arrival - so nice to be able to reach one's holiday home after a long journey and not have to work through a book of instructions before being able to make a cup of tea because we had already had the opportunity to read this information.
