  • "Really enjoyed my stay at the cottage."

It is positioned in a fantastic central position to enjoy everything around the Dark Peak. But to be fair you don’t need to venture far. Walks galore in all directions. Lovely and quiet position with views to die for. Village a short walk away where people are so friendly. The owners or the cottage are lovely people and you can not help but love them. I love my walking and have stayed in better and worse cottages over the years. But this place is a walkers dream. Loved it.

It is in a very good place for travelling around the Derbyshire Dales with lovely views from the cottage. The village has 2 great restaurants The Paper Mill and The Old Hall owned by the same people and catering for all tastes, which is in walking distance. We also had a takeaway from the Indian restaurant in the village which was very good. Would recommend

Owners next door very pleasant. We have been coming to the Peak District for over 13 years and these are the best views we have ever had from a cottage. Good base for this area. Everything here for a weeks stay. The bed was a bit hard for us but that's just a small thing. Highly recommend The Lamb Inn lovely food. We had a very enjoyable week here weather good for 5 days out of the 7, so we were lucky.

Lots of places to visit and walk. Barbara was very welcoming when we arrived. Beautiful views accross the valley. Overall comfy place to stay. Some small negatives...No washing machine which would have been useful as the weather was poor and we got very muddy (wasnt much space so thats probably why no washing machine) Shower pressure quite low but was ok. Wifi was on and off. I would recommend visiting.

Cottage attached to the owners property but we were not disturbed at all. Beautiful views over looking the peak District, very peaceful and great location. Overall cottage was lovely, great size for two plus a dog. The cleanliness could have been better, lots of areas that looked untouched for a while, with thick layers of dust and hair. Previous guests shower scrunchies and sponge were left in the shower. Bed was extremely uncomfortable, felt like an old mattress, could feel the springs and it was very hard. Head board was not attached properly so just banged the wall every time we moved. With a few amendments and better cleaning we would have given a 5 out of 5 instead of 4.
