  • "We had another wonderful relaxing time at the Jenny wrennery."

The cottage has everything you need, and the area around it has many hidden gems, especially the donuts at the canalside farm shop. Mel and George are wonderful hosts and give you a warm welcome. See our review from last year and we have already booked for next year.

  • "The Jenny Wrennery was a delightful ‘bolt-hole’ in which to spend a few nights away."

A very warm welcome on arrival and lovely views of the Staffordshire country side as you relax at the end of the day. A lot of thought and an eye for detail has gone into it. The only downside for us was, that as the weather was so good, we didn’t need to light the log burner!

  • "Arrived a little early than expected, but still able to get into the property."

Mel , the owner, was soon round to welcome us with eggs, milk, biscuits, tomatoes and coffee,as the bread wasn’t available. Lovely and warm on the evening even though the weather was cold, windy and wet.

  • "Whilst we had a lovely stay at the Jenny Wrennery the facilities did lack somewhat."

The situation in the kitchen whereby only one appliance could be utilised at a time was less than adequate. In the lounge the settee, which was completely too large for the space, was distinctly uncomfortable and had obviously been downgraded for use in the cottage.

  • "Mel is such a lovely host."

She made sure everything was perfect for our stay. Her 3 dogs were such cuties and friendly. The welcome pack of bread, milk, biscuits, conserves were great and a nice touch. The air conditioner/heater worked perfectly for our purposes. The friendly sheep were very interesting as well as the numerous birds on the feeders close to the cottage. The Old Dunne Cow is superb and recommended. We suggest people the visit Wedgwood World which is not too far away. We loved this quiet picturesque property and will be back.

It was in an ideal location for us as we needed to visit Stafford and Uttoexeter. We found the two pubs nearby, which were in walking distance and very good. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was so good, lots of hot water. The area was quiet, you did hear the passing trains but they were not intrusive to the stay. We had sunshine so we were able to have a glass of bubby on the decked area. Thank you also for the basic essentials of milk, eggs, bread and tea/coffee etc. We would stay again. Thank you Mel. • "This place is gorgeous, so cute and compact but comfy with amazing big windows looking over the view."

The floor to ceiling window in front of the bed was our favourite view, and with the electric blanket on the bed it was sooo gorgeous to get in bed, and we loved lounging in the morning, watching the sheep, chickens and birds - lots and lots of birds flying around. Loads of wood included with the log burner. Always plenty of hot water. Very very comfy bed with lovely bedding. Sofa was also lovely and comfy too. We love the area, it was very wet when we were there, but we still managed to get out for walks. We particularly enjoyed the walk through Colton village to Ye Old Dun Cow in Colton. Amazing food there, we ate there four times in 6 days, couldn’t fault it at all, definitely added to our stay. We both said we felt so relaxed after the stay at this cottage, the owner, Melanie, was lovely and we met her daughter who works at the Ye Old Dun Cow too,who was also lovely and helpful. We would not hesitate to recommend this place for a lovely romantic and chilled getaway.

When you first enter the cottage you think you are not going to have much room but the " Jenny Wrennery" has been carefully thought out to give you loads of storage, the under bed storage is amazing and we were surprised how much we got in it as we do not travel light!!!!! There are baskets for more storage and a lovely little kitchen with all you need , the mini hob was great to use! The bathroom has a lovely big shower which is so easy to use. The welcome pack you receive is amazing, eggs, coffee, butter, bread, biscuits and a homemade preserve ( which we are keeping for xmas☺) we loved this cottage so much we are booking again for next year! • "We stayed here for a week 21st April to the 28th."

Online the cabin looked amazing. But when we got there.... it was even nicer than we saw on the photos. Beautifully location! The cabin had everything we needed and more. Was very cosy and the fact it had a lig burner AND heating/aircon was brilliant. The shower was beautiful and the bed was so comfy, along with the sofa! Great that it had an ottoman bed as once we put the outdoor stuff on the seating area, this allowed us storage space. Although the kitchen only had a 1 ring hob.... this did not matter and we managed to cook a full Sunday lunch, shepherd's pie and other hearty meals, so don't be put off by this. The TV has netflix which was great and I absolutely loved the remote control for the lights, came in really handy. There is plenty of privacy but at the same time, Mel next door will happily say h3llo and have a chat. She has the most beautiful 3 dogs! Although if u give them a reward be prepared for wishbone to never forget where he got it from haha Mel is more than happy for you to take a walk through the paddock and feed the chickens and the sheep... I did this daily.it came jn handy also that Mel prepared a fold3r with not only info about the cabin, but great local places to visit, places to ear and she even mapped out 2 walks for you to enjoy. This stay was truly amazing and just what we needed. We are already looking at the next dates for us to return and we are so looking forward to it. Also, the little welcome pack was a very nice touch, the eggs are beautifully and you can buy more if u wish, the money goes back into the chicken's. I could go on forever about this stay but I won't. But just know IT IS WELL WORTH THE VISIT HERE, YOU WONT REGRET BOOKING THIS.

Hi David, thanks for your review. We can see that facilities and maintenance don't quite meet up to our usual standard in your review. I always make a point of asking guests on their departure if there is anything missing or anything we could improve on. if there is anything in particular please let us know. We pride ourselves on the service we offer which you can see through reviews on the Wrennery and on Bellamour End Cottage. What a quaint place this is, well equipped and everything furnished to a high standard. Thank you for your hospitality and warmth throughout the week Mel, our greeting of fresh bread, eggs, milk and butter... and supply of logs for the log burner...... made us feel really welcome. We really enjoyed our circular walk straight from the property immediately into the beautiful countryside and then down to the canal. Also enjoyed our trek around Cannock Chase Forest which was a 5 minute minute drive. Also visited the National Arboretum which was very poignant and did lots of shopping at the nearby MacArthur Glenn centre. Great also to sit outside on the veranda with a G&T and watch the sun go down amongst the beautiful surroundings.. Thank you Mel..... and for anybody reading this review we would highly recommend.
