  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Wye Apartment, Litton Mill."

The accommodation is very nice, in a lovely location. Quiet and convenient for all of our needs. Walks from the door were excellent. Monsal Trail is just 5 minutes away, albeit up a steepish path that wouldn't suit some people, and the trail can get very busy on bank holidays and weekends. The walk along the river Wye to Cressbrook and Water-cum-Jolly is delightful. Altogether a most enjoyable week and highly recommended.

  • "A very spacious and well resourced apartment in a beautiful location with a variety of walks from the door yet close to the facilities of Buxton, we were going to a concert at the Opera House."

It was a perfect location and accommodation for us and our dog. Small negatives include a settee which had lost its bounce and a bath tap which soaked you and the floor when switched on full. Entry to the Mill was challenging initially. However, none of these spoilt our stay.

  • "We were very pleased with the location, standard of upkeep and facilities at the apartment."

The very creaky flooring in the hallway was the only concern for us, as we were worried about disturbing other residents when moving about, especially in the early morning when we took the dog for a walk. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom was very comfortable.

  • "The property was massive and in such a great location, we will most likely be coming back."

Although probably just as a family as there wasn't much sound proofing between the rooms so once anyone was awake the whole house was awake.

  • "Wye apartment is in an outstanding location; very quiet with numerous walks from the door."

Parking is no problem. The accommodation is extremely spacious with lovely bedrooms equipped with comfortable beds. The apartment is very well equipped for a short stay, though arguably, a washing machine may be more useful than the dishwasher provided. Good quality carpets throughout but unfortunately there was a pervading smell of dog on both the carpets and soft furnishings. A professional clean at regular intervals may be in order. Overall though, a great place to stay in the wonderful Peak District.

  • "Lovely spacious accommodation."

Clean and generally well maintained. Fantastic location for walking, and the Anglers Rest serves a great pint of beer. An excellent spot all round!

  • "This apartment is in a fascinating old cotton mill in an idyllic setting."

Perfect for access to stunning walks straight from the door. The accommodation is very comfortable and mainly well equipped, just a few minor things would be appreciated: spare loo roll, kitchen roll, clothes airer and bath mats for example. Hope to come back.

  • "A fantastic week in Litton Mill."

The apartment was great for the two of us, comfortable, well equipped and with lots of personal touches like a welcome pack for drinks and a pint of milk, books, dvds, games etc. Parking was easy and we didn't need to drive anywhere all week. The surrounding countryside was beautiful and the Pub within walking distance. We will definitely return for another holiday.

  • "The mill itself and the apartment are lovely and beautifully situated."

The apartment was let down by dog hairs all over the rug and an overpowering smell of dogs, especially on the sofas.

Thank you for your comments. We have fed this back to the cleaners and requested that they ensure the rug and sofas are given a very thorough clean to make sure that any remaining dog hairs are removed. Although we welcome dogs we do request that guests do not allow them on the furniture, we will reiterate this to future guests. We hope you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Pictures do not do this apartment justice!"

. More spacious than we expected. Lovely wooden worktops and range cooker. Only 2 things I think to add ….. A nice big clock would have suited kitchen rather than the picture up and a bigger wardrobe in the adults bedroom. The apartment is suited for 2 adults 2 children. I would not say the beds are sturdy enough for adults. Apartment hosts were great at communication and couldn’t fault them, especially when we needed them to assist us. Do take an extra tea towel/ sponge and toilet roll as we shopped at Morrison’s. Lovely to eat in and relax in the apartment. Lovely books and lovely walks for the family. Would recommend Tissington trail and snake path trail. Would def recommend this lovely airy apartment.

  • "Beautiful apartment and gorgeous and peaceful location."

Super easy to take dog for a quick walk too and wasn’t a problem at all not having a ‘garden’ as such. Walked up to the anglers rest pub several times - good no fuss grub and brilliant ales. Fab place to stay

  • "Nice apartment comfortable well equipped Wasn’t informed of lift and code ..."

Nice apartment comfortable well equipped Wasn’t informed of lift and code for the garage on arrival, lock on apartment door difficult to open worn, in the bathroom I think a handle should be fitted for all ages for excess to use bath and shower also bath tap not functional partly blocked water would shot across the bath

Thank you for your comments. As the garage is primarily for the use of private residents, we request guests to use one of the outdoor parking spaces in the private car park, next to the building as detailed in the arrival information. We are sorry that you had difficulty with the door. The lock on the main door is due for replacement, we hope that this will be done shortly. We were unaware of any issue with the bathroom tap but will have this looked at as soon as possible. We will also look at the possibility of fitting a bath rail. We hope you enjoyed your stay. • "The location is great, and everything you need is provided."

My only concern is the cleanliness of the cottage. One of the work surfaces had sticky spots on it, looked like jam. The black carpet in the kitchen/diner had lots of dog hairs on it. When we tried to vacuum them off the cleaner was worse than useless. Full dust bag, which is probably why they were where in the first place. Will try to avoid cottages that take pets in future.

Thank you for your feedback, we're sorry to hear that there were issues with the cleanliness of the property. We use a professional cleaning company and usually receive very positive feedback regarding cleanliness, we apologise that it was not up to standard on this occasion. We will feed your comments back to the cleaners and also ensure that the vacuum cleaner bag is changed for the use of future guests. Property Owner

  • "We would have scored higher had not there not been such cheap and uncomfortable matreses on all the beds ."

We all had a terrible 3 nights sleep. The appt was spotlessly clean. Minor suggestions are for a shave point in the bathroom and more cutlery. We were having to put dishwasher on regularly due to lack of crockery. Bathroom good and kitchen living space good. Small settee was as uncomfortable as the bed, thank goodness the weather was good. Litton Mill has amazing character. A few simple touches could turn 6/10 into 9/10.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry that you found the mattresses uncomfortable. We aim to maintain our property to a high standard and make improvements where necessary, the double mattress was actually replaced on 7 August after your stay. We carefully read all feedback received in order to give the best experience to our guests and we will continue to make improvements as appropriate. Property Owner

  • "Fantastic location, lovely apartment."

Lots of lovely walks and wildlife straight from the apartment. Minor gripe, we found it slightly chilly despite the warm weather, which is no doubt due to the location (valley bottom), thick stone walls and high ceilings. Information about house to turn up the heating was available, but we'r didn't bother since it was July. A slightly thicker duvet or an extra blanket would have helped, but guess extras were removed due to covid concerns. Overall, really lovely apartment and location and would stay again.

So peaceful and beautiful and right next to a wonderful river walk where we saw dippers, red starts and a water vole. The apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious and had everything we needed with two small children- we even discovered a toy box. The owners were great and we had a brilliant stay, thank you very much!

Lovely kitchen and eating area. Living room had huge window which was lovely to sit next to watch the world go by. So peaceful and quiet. Could hear owls at night. Perfect. Again bedroom large and spacious but needs new mattress, although I did sleep quite well. Phoenix Mill in the most idyllic of spots. Perfect for many walks on the doorstep without the car and within twenty minutes drive to the most special areas that the peaks has to offer. Perfect for me and my beagle, amazing walks literally two seconds from front door. Had a fabulous week.

Nearby Tideswell stands in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Famous for its fine church dedicated to St John the Baptist, known as "The Cathedral of the Peak", Tideswell is also noted for its well dressing and carnival wakes, and has many fine country inns, a chemist, bakers and much more.
