  • "Had a great week at the Garden Suite."

It was private and cosy, with a lovely garden and the owners have gone that extra mile to provide everything you need.(The bottled water, coffee machine and toiletries are a thoughtful touch). The weather wasn't great some days, but we were happy to relax there, between days out. We met the owner a couple of times, and she was lovely, and helpful. Thank you!

  • "The property was ideal for myself, husband and our 2 dogs."

It was in a good location although a bit tricky at times parking as it’s located on a busy road. We had everything we needed, very good use of the space. We didn’t realise the kitchen was separate so maybe this could be mentioned, this however wasn’t a problem. Excellent privacy and helpful hosts, would definitely recommend.

  • "Quirky, cosy, clean and tidy."

Quite small, unusual layout. Ideal for a short stay, especially during summer months.. Cost was just about right , would not have booked the property if it had been any more. About 30. mins. drive and you are into the peak district tourist area, walks and edges. my wife and I really enjoyed our short stay. The weather was excellent too.

The property

This unique, single-storey lodge is set in the owner’s garden in the market town of Dronfield, Derbyshire.

Presented to a lovely standard with a feature wall of woodland and bluebells, Garden Suite provides a wonderful bolthole for couples eager to spend some time in Derbyshire.

After parking up in the off-road parking area and unloading your belongings, step into the kitchen and become familiar with your cooking appliances, including an electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment and a dishwasher.

Pass an external bar out to reach the lodge, stepping into the sitting area where you can relax on the sofa whilst the electric fire gently warms the space.

Freshen up in the shower room before continuing to the double bed, complete with white linen.

The enclosed garden invites you to settle down at furniture and enjoy a grilled feast, prepared on the barbecue.

Dronfield sits midway between the vibrant city of Sheffield and the historic market town of Chesterfield, and 3 miles from The Peak District.

Within the town there are handful of eateries, including a 500 year old pub, The Green Dragon Inn, serving a tasty menu and selection of ales.

Enjoy leisurely strolls along the River Drone or spot the local wildlife in the Dronfield Nature Park.

Continue to Chesterfield, where you can test your clubs at the excellent Hallowes Golf Course, or visit the city of Sheffield, home to a remarkable cathedral and selection of attractions, including the Mayfield Alpacas Animal Park.

If that’s not enough, the scenic splendour of the Peak District makes for excellent hiking, cycling and walking.

Enjoy an action-packed break in Derbyshire with a stay at Garden Suite.

About the location

DRONFIELD

Chesterfield 6 miles; Sheffield 7 miles.

Dronfield is a Derbyshire market town with a history dating back to before the 1086 Domesday Book, and has a number of 12th-century buildings which are still in existence. The town has a wide range of shops, pubs, restaurants and also a sports centre, and is surrounded by wonderful Peak District countryside where the walks are asking to be explored. Dronfield is situated between the Peak District National Park and the city of Sheffield while close by is the historic town of Chesterfield which is most notable for its famous crooked spire of St Mary and All Saints Church. The impressive Damflask, Agden, Dale Dike and Ladybower dams make for an interesting afternoon's ramble, while the attractive village of Hathersage (thought to be the inspiration for Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre) is also within easy reach and is home to a selection of shops, pubs and inviting eateries, plus an outdoor lido. There are many stately homes to visit including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall, whilst the historic and ever popular town of Bakewell and the rest of the Peak District, are within a short drive.
