  • "Fabulous, isolated location with loch access just down the drive and across the road so perfect for paddleboarding."

  • "The availability of running water should not be a lottery."

It should be made clear to other users that there will be times when no water is available at all. We had 3 separate days , usually when other cottages were full, when the water was off when we arrived back and never came on so we had to wash in bottled water which is not ideal. The cottage owners must do something other than post a small sign advising of low pressure to ensure this is sorted .

  • "The dining table was too wobbly to be able to eat a meal at."

The bathroom had a permanent damp smell even if we left the towel rail on. The kitchen area was very tired and needs an update. Overall it just wasn't the comfiest of accommodation we have stayed in.

Thank you for your review, the bathroom baffles us but we will make a close inspection as for the table I am sorry we did not notice it at the time of the previous changeover , but you should have let us know as we rectified the problem within seconds Property Owner

  • "The balcony and the view from it make this cottage!"

Ospreys coming over ...and magnificent cloudscapes. The grounds are well maintained and there's a lovely woodland to explore. A pedestrian gate alongside the heavy vehicle gates would have made life easier for access to the parking space and woodland . We found the bedroom pretty cramped but the upstairs sitting room is spacious, light and warm. I'd really have liked a couple of cushions for the armchairs! The kitchen was adequately but not generously equipped. It would be a problem for four.

Thank you for your feedback , Macgregor is one of our smallest cottages And is really set up for a couple and two kids in bunk room, as for the kitchen thank you we will check if there is anything missing Property Owner

  • "The property was in a beautiful location and the views were amazing."

We saw birds, squirrels, deer, splashed in the Loch and went for lovely, tranquil woodland walks. I loved the upstairs and everything we needed was there and more. We were very comfortable upstairs and spent loads of time on the balcony looking at the view. I was on the bunk bed and found the mattress a bit uncomfortable but guess it would be fine for tired children. The cottage wasn’t spotless there were patches of dust but it was clean enough. The main problem for us was that there was no reception on any of the mobiles we tried ( BT, Vodaphone, O2). We needed to speak to a vet urgently and none were contactable on What’s aap. It also became a bit frightening being there with an elderly parent. Obviously I get the “ getting a way from it all” principle and understand it’s the Highlands but I think there needs to be clear information about phones, reception and the facility of an emergency phone. I wouldn’t go again because of this. However it was peaceful and beautiful and feel a bit sad that there is this limitation for our family.

We are at a loss to understand your difficulties with mobile reception, it is feasible the mast was temporarily not working, however my wife uses EE and I use vodaphone both work extremely well here , O2 is not good and from what we are told everything else works well . However if you drive to the village shop 02 does work if that is your only option in the case of an emergency. Try WI-FI calling in future Thank you Property Owner

  • "Excellent facilities, we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the little extra details in and around the property."

We cooked most evenings, enjoyed the outdoor space and watch a dvd. We learnt to take care with the hot water supply as it was very hot but made for good showering. We used our bikes most days, a shelter to lock our bikes to would have been nice (not essential).

  • "When we arrived at the property it was lovely and warm with lovely views and quiet."

However some things, that bugged us. The table top was loose so we could not all sit down together as would spill food and drink on it. DVD/VCR was not connected. so we would have to disconnect something to get it to work.plus no batteries in the remote. Don't think we should be fiddling on that front. Trouble with key spoke to owner nothing done so left unlocked as afraid key would snap off in lock. Would we go again, Absolutely. First thing in the morning, Pheasants walking up the fields calling. last thing at night Owls and Pheasants calling and screeching wonderful. Dogs loved it as well and would join us on the balcony morning and evening, watching and listening the the wild life.

My apologies about the lack of battery’s and the wobbly table These items have now been rectified As far as the key is concerned not sure we understand as we thought we had done it on the spot, our apologies if that was not the case. Look forward to seeing you again and thank you for coming Property Owner

About the location

KINLOCH RANNOCH

Pitlochry 20 miles; Perth 46 miles.

Kinloch Rannoch grew from a tiny hamlet in the mid 18th century under James Small who had served in Lord Loudon’s Regiment and which consisted of discharged army soldiers and crofters who had lost their land. Roads and bridges were improved to allow ease of movement for soldiers at the nearby Rannoch Barracks. The Sleeping Giant is a hill near the village said to resemble the upper body of a man and local legend states the giant will awake upon hearing his master’s flute playing. The main activity today is tourism and Kinloch Rannoch is ideally located for walking, sailing and angling. The small market town of Aberfeldy is close by and boasts a cinema, leisure centre, restaurants and shops. The town is also the setting for scenes in the Outlander TV series. The tourist town of Pitlochry is also nearby and provides many shops, cafes and restaurants as well as the famous Pitlochry Festival Theatre boasting a different show every night of the week.
