"We really enjoyed our stay here in August."
The cabin was lovely, clean and very well maintained. The views around are stunning and it’s a great place to get away and relax in a secluded area. The lock on the front door broke later in the evening and there was someone out to fix it within the hour for us which was really appreciated.
The pool and grounds were lovely and we’d definitely return!

"Beautiful little holiday lodge."
Me an my family had a brilliant week and the kids loved the pool and off course Barney the dog. The place is so clean an the bedding spotless and the beds are so comfy we all sleep perfectly. Beautiful scenery. Derek the owner is lovely and very helpful and is lovely with the kids to. the only thing I would say is it's probably not suitable for anyone not good on their feet or wheelchair users as the lodge is on a hill and the ground around the property is very lumpy an bumpy and access to the pool takes you across uneven grassy ground slightly uphill then down a grass slope so unfortunately we couldn't take my 83 year old nan down to the pool side so she could watch the kids. But other then that I would 100% recommend this place the local area is lovely and ludlow is a beautiful place to walk around and find food. We will definitely be back 10/10

"We really enjoyed our week at Callow Fold."
The cosy, off-grid cabin is set on a remote, wooded hillside, with sweeping views of rolling farmland. The owner, Derek could not have been more helpful, especially on the last day when our car broke down and he picked us up from Church Stretton!

"We had a lovely weekend at Callow Fold."
The views from the property were stunning. Well equipped kitchen. Three bedrooms which were perfect for our group of four (one couple and two friends). Great place for touring and taking beautiful walks around the Shropshire countryside. Have to say I fell in love with owners collie. All in all a great place for a weekend break.

"We had a wonderfully relaxing stay here - which is just what my mom and I were looking for."
The setting is beautiful and the owner is lovely. The bonus was his very friendly dog, who appeared quietly outside whenever we did. He gave us unlimited minutes of vigorous exercise, by offering his toy for us to try and wrestle off him (the dog, not the owner) We will definitely be back to this lovely place for some peace and quiet and beauty

"We visited Callow Fold in January 2024 for a week."
Upon arrival the lights in the cabin had been put on, which was instantly cosy and welcoming, the cabin was always really warm to an impressive standard, especially as it was January and it was below zero outside, but we was always very warm and cosy.
Great water pressure and lots of hot water.
It is extremely quiet and peaceful, there's a beautiful stillness and on a night the stars are incredible. We enjoyed sitting out with the fireplace burning whilst star gazing.
Derek is friendly and none intrusive, he is on hand if you need him, but you still have your own privacy. Of course Barney the dog is amazing and a great addition and very child friendly.
In our experience the cabin was due a deep clean and we did spend a couple of hours cleaning on our first morning-mainly the floors and corners of floors where there were a lot of dead lace wings. Unfortunately there was no hoover and only a sweeping brush, so it was hard to get the rug clean in the living area, the addition of a hoover would be great.
However, the bathroom and kitchen worktops were very clean.
The kitchen cupboards would benefit from a good sort out and organisation to provide more space for storing food and detail cleaning such as the cuttlery draw as they easily accumulate bits etc.Possibly less table chairs as we had to shuffle some furniture around to make more space.
The cabin is off grid and for us this was a great selling point, but it was not specified or highlighted in the description-I think highlighting this aspect would draw a lot of interest and bookings. Derek has done a great job of creating an off grid cabin that is warm, has great hot water and pressure and instant hot water for making hot drinks, no waiting for the kettle to boil. We had better water pressure and heating facilities at Callow Fold than other brick and morter accommodation we have stayed in.
Some people state you can walk from the cabin, you can but it is country road walking with no designated walking routes or public footpaths, so if you have young children just consider this. There is a circular type walk near the cabin, but not very accessible in wet weather and unfortunately lots of tree felling which spoils the natural beauty -something that was frustrating for Derek too.
The Cabin is a good base to visit places such as Stiperstones, Carding Mill Valley and Ludlow, but be prepared to drive and to be confident on small country roads.
Overall Callow Fold is definitely worth a visit, especially if you want to experience peace and stillness.

"What a wonderful find , a beautiful lodge in a beautiful setting ."
This property is the perfect sanctuary to get away from it all, perfect for walks from the front door and amazing views. Whilst in a secluded setting it is located close to the lovely town of Ludlow , and it’s castle. Lots of other places to explore and visit .
The property itself is equipped with everything you need , we could have moved in permanently

Washing machine broke on our stay and was replaced within 24 hours - the washing line was a must have and we were grateful to have use of it. Loo seat was on its last hinges, but I'm sure Derek will have sorted that already. We did miss a basic kettle - though a good quality water heater was provided. Kitchen cupboards full of goodies - pots pans bags potatoes bowls etc - though a bit chaotic and shoved in

"Had a lovely weekend in this charming cabin."
Surrounded by stunning scenery. If you want a break from the city, this is perfect ,so peaceful.
Downside, we felt uncomfortable in the downstairs bedroom ( the double bed ) as has shutters you can see through and no curtains or blinds, so anyone can see into the bedroom. Had to sleep upstairs on two single beds pushed together .

We loved the beautiful wooden cottage with stunning views -- perfect for a complete relaxation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner welcomed us and was very accommodating. The kids felt in love with his lovely, friendly dog. We will definitely come back again.

Fantastic views. Comfortable and cosy wooden Scandinavia style pine accommodation.
Deryk welcomed us with fresh flowers and wine on the table and fresh semi skimmed in the fridge. No traffic noise just wild birds. Lovely walks nearby.

It was fairly easy to locate the property in the dark as you can't miss the 'Callow Cottage' sign by the hedges. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. The gardens and views of the hills are stunning. Derek was very welcoming and we loved playing with the wonderful border collie, Barney. We wish we could have stayed longer!
