  • "A wonderfully clean, comfortable, well appointed cottage."

Everything was there to make our holiday go smoothly from the cottage itself to the really useful well equipped utility room to the fabulous games room. The touches of the fresh flowers to tea, coffee, milk, welshcakes etc were very welcome after a long drive. The owners have thoughtfully put a comprehensive folder together with everything to know and more about your stay and history of the cottages. There is also a good selection of tourist information in the games room. The games room itself is well stocked with books, board games, toys etc. We particularly loved playing table tennis. We have a full size table at home but at present have not the room to use it, so this was great. The nearby castles and gardens are a must to visit as well as Dinefwr House and the National Trust's Gold Mine. All in all a wonderful weeks holiday and will certainly recommend to family and friends. We loved Ollie the cat a 'purrfect' character!

  • "Beautiful, quiet cottage, maintained to a high standard with everything we needed."

The little touches are what made us love it. The little jar of dog biscuits, the Welsh cakes, the pint of milk, couple of beers, tea/coffee, the dining table with flowers, so very welcoming. The info on what to see, the 'how to' book for the cottage, everything was thought of. Comfortable rooms, linen lovely and soft. The separate games room & utility room is a bonus. Such a great base, rural but not too far from the sights. Dog friendly too, with the use of the enclosed paddock is a big plus for us. Thank you Josie & Gavin, the area and property is idyllic, we will definitely return and recommend.

Great welcome, helpful and friendly owners, great on-site facilities (our daughter particularly enjoyed the well-stocked shared games room). We enjoyed our week so much that we booked up another stay in the autumn as soon as we returned home! The area has many interesting places to visit, one week just wasn't enough to see them all!

The cottage itself is really well presented, clean, light and airy. It is situated in a beautiful part of Welsh countryside, close enough to all main routes for travelling around south Wales. The games room was a great addition to our stay as was the paddock for walking our dog. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Thank you for an amazing stay Josie and Gavin (thank you also for the dog treats and Welsh cakes!)

  • "We much enjoyed our stay at Dinefwr Cottage & have ALREADY recommended it to some friends."

It was clean & comfortable & the owners were welcoming & helpful-including when it came to working the TV! (Maybe a written list of step-by-step instructions would be useful!) If we wanted a holiday in the same area again we would be very happy to return to that cottage. Several places of interest to see within a few miles, including the National Botanic Garden of Wales & Aberglasney Gardens. We also appreciated being so near to the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review for our cottage and we are really pleased you both had such a lovey stay. It was wonderful meeting you and as you know, we are only too happy to help with any 'mod cons' in the cottage that are unfamiliar to guests but I've taken your advice onboard and made some changes. It's been a busy summer but we've enjoyed watching Llety Mieri change over the seasons in the garden and orchard, I'm just away now to make some more plum jam, turns out it's rather nice on a Welsh cake. • "Nice property but more compact than it looked on listing."

Paintwork looking a bit tired. Bed and sofa comfortable. Cosy cottage. Nice welcome pack. Situation good for visiting various places. Good paddock for exercising the dog. Ok for short break but a bit small for us for longer. No storage space for food except fridge and we like to cater for ourselves due to intolerances. Hob very small but there is a microwave. We had to make a rush booking as let down by another organisation so we’re very grateful to get this property. Bonus was that it was at a reduced price!

Hi Isabella, We are so pleased you enjoyed the welcome pack, we always like to know any guests can enjoy a cuppa or cold drink after their journey and we are pleased you found the furniture comfortable. We trust the photos we are using on Sykes reflect the cottage, however we take your comments on board. Sorry not to meet you personally and we endeavour to price ourselves competitively so maybe we'll get to meet you another time, thanks, Josie & Gavin. Property Owner

The cottage is compact and has everything that's needed for a relaxing stay. A few extra notes on how the use the smart TV would be helpful, but Josie soon showed us. I also struggle initially with an induction hob, but we got there! Very much hope to visit again as the countryside is so beautiful. An excellent base to visit the National Botanical Gardens of Wales and RHS Aberglassney Gardens. Our thanks to Josie and Gavin for a special stay.
