  • "We have just stayed at Gwynfa for a week and we absolutely loved the house and village."

We were so looked after by the owner, Jenny, who was very accommodating and friendly - her homemade cake was delicious! House was very clean and warm and had everything we needed. Beds were so comfy and inviting, slept like an angel the whole week. Thankfully the weather was on our side and got out each day to explore the area. Would totally recommend this place !

We arrive to a homemade cake, bottle of wine, milk and eggs. There is plenty of walks around the cottage with scenic views, or plenty to do a short drive away.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here."

The cottage was lovely and spacious. It was very welcoming and very clean. It was extremely well equipped and we wanted for nothing. We loved the cottage feel and the extra bonus was the burning log stove. The wine and eggs were also an added bonus on arrival! Our host was very friendly and was on hand if we needed anything - we didn't apart from buy logs off of her. She was very generous with the logs for which we were thankful. The weather was also lovely for the time of year. Would definitely go back some time and would definitely recommend. The village itself is very quiet with not much going on and lends itself to lots of lovely walks around the area - exactly what we needed! Wish we could have stayed longer. A perfect base for travelling around Pembrokeshire.

The only downside was, you had to go outside the front door to get a phone signal.also there was no wi-fi.Jenny the owner did phone me the day before to tell me about the wi-fi problem and told me it was being fixed on the Monday of our stay.unfortunately it could not be fixed(not Jenny,s fault).overall I would return to Gwynfa once the communication problems are solved.

Thank you Barbara for your kind comments about the cottage. Just to let you know that I have now changed provider and the cottage offers BT-fibre with a much improved service! Property Owner

Jenny was a great host and supplied a welcome pack that was a wonderful surprise. The cottage was immaculate with everything you need for a relaxing holiday - a true home from home. The only negative was that the WiFi was not working, a situation that Jenny is addressing immediately by switching service provider! Would definitely recommend to all.

  • "Beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet location."

Quite isolated as there are no amenities in the village. Nearest is Newcastle Emlyn but there’s not a lot there either. A coop we could only find one pub that was open, the bunch of grapes. Food was good though. The cottage was very well presented, Jenny was a lovely host who left us eggs, milk, wine and a fabulous homemade cake! There are some beautiful walks from there too. West coast and south coast beaches were fantastic! We had some great weather and went dolphin spotting in New Quay. All in all a great place to have a very relaxed holiday! 10/10

  • "We had a lovely stay at Gwynfa, the cottage is very clean and spacious and all rooms have been finished to a very high standard."

We have a dog and found the rear access to the conservatory very useful to be able to take muddy boots off before going into the kitchen / lounge. The location is good and it's not too far to drive to local beaches e.g. Poppit Sands, Aberporth and near to Newcastle Emlyn for shops / restaurants etc. We met the owner Jenny a couple of times and she was very helpful with local information such as walk routes and facilities. All in all a great place to stay - recommended.

  • "Lovely place to stay, very quiet and ideal for a cosy get away for couples who wants a nice get away."

As it's a quiet village hidden in the hills it's not ideal for getting to places for kids unless you want to drive for a hour. Internet is a community based service so its not very fast. All the bedrooms were cosy, 2 toilets and great facilities to wash and bathe. The renter was lovely to talk to and was very helpful. There is a graveyard opposite the house so if you ain't into having that across the road then this is not for you. But this place has a lovely peaceful garden and conservatory and has some breath taking views from the double bedroom. It's a perfect get away from life for a whatever time you want away, but alot of travel is involved if you want a take away. You cannot order just eat or uber eats! So yes it is a perfect get away to get away from everyday life.

  • "A lovely cottage in a quiet and relaxing village setting."

Good quality fittings and furnishings with a well stocked kitchen. A delightful gift of wine, milk, cake and eggs on arrival. The only drawback is that the owner Jenny, who is a helpful and friendly lady, had recently had a bad experience with renters allowing their muddy dogs to badly soil the upstairs carpets and beds, so now dogs are not allowed upstairs at all. If this had been in the cottage description we would have had to go elsewhere as our dogs sleep in crates in our bedroom at home. There is no gate at the bottom of the stairs, tho Jenny says she has one coming, but our dogs had to be shut in the kitchen at night and the young one cried and howled so we took turns in sleeping downstairs on the settee to stop this and prevent complaints from the neighbours. Other than this we thought the local area was amazing. Dog walks from the door, shops, eateries and interesting places in Newcastle Emlyn only 4 miles away and a fantastic dog friendly beach at Newport. Happy to strongly recommend if your dogs are ok sleeping in the kitchen.
