  • "The owners made us feel very welcome and were always on hand if we had questions."

They kindly gave us fresh vegetables from their garden! The cottage was very accurately described and is finished to a high standard with good quality fittings and furnishings. The location provided very easy access to the coastal path and we also used the local 'hail & ride' shuttle bus service up to Fishguard (Abergwaun) for just £3.30 for two adults and a dog! We had a great week. Thank you Ron and Candy!

  • "This cottage is beautiful."

The owners have thought of everything, we honestly wouldn’t be able to find fault with it if we tried. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked. The owners had left alternative duvets in the storage box just in case the one provided was not warm enough. It was very clean, the furniture and bed are comfy, the garden is beautifully kept. The front courtyard area is very private and a lovely little sun trap. There are walks from the front door with very easy access to the coastal path. Loved it and highly recommend.

The cottage was comfortable & well equipped and felt very homely. The homemade treats after a long journey were most welcome. Candy & Ron made us feel very welcome & offered good information for local places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Pembrokeshire. An absolute gem of a cottage. Thank you.

  • "No complaints from us."

If you are looking for constructive comments, a heated towel rail on a timer would have been of help for our October stay.

Hi Les and Anita. It was great to meet you both and we appreciated your lovely comments in the visitor's book. Thanks for the feedback. Whilst you could have utilised the central heating system and radiator(s), we must admit that an electric towel rail would be a useful addition. We're not sure how easy it would be to install a new fused outlet in the bathroom but we'll ask our local electrician to have a look. Best regards Candy and Ron Property Owner

  • "We loved this cottage and the beautiful quiet area."

The cottage is attractive, clean and has everything you need. The owners who live next door are really nice, friendly and very helpful - but were not intrusive at all. It's a great place for a "get away from it all" holiday. The Pembrokeshire coast path is just a short walk from the cottage and we spent most of our time walking along it. Stunningly beautiful scenery and wildlife. We also found things to do on the two wet days we had. Pubs and shops are a short drive away which may be drawback for some but, for us, the great location made up for that.

  • "This was the nicest cottage we have ever stayed in and was absolutely immaculate."

Beautiful area and perfect if you like seclusion and lots of walking - which we do! The fantastic weather was also a plus. We had hoped to use the bus more but the operator service 400 Puffin Shuttle and 404 Strumble Shuttle ceased on 5th April so you need to pre-book the Fflecsi Bus if you get tired legs. Candy and Ron were great hosts and very helpful, left lovely homemade treats for us. We had a fantastic holiday in this lovely home.

They clearly wanted us to enjoy our stay and be comfortable and consistently went beyond what might be expected to ensure that this was so. It was especially enjoyable to be staying in a property owned by local people who were keen to help us to find our way round and appreciate the area. They had prepared the cottage with an eye for detail and the property and local area information they provided was a particular example of this. I was blown away by the quality of presentation of the property. As for cleanliness, it was immaculate. In terms of attractive fittings and furnishings - it had a real cottage feel and was beautifully decorated and well supplied with everything we needed, and the bedroom in particular blew me away with its furnishings and view over the fields. We enjoyed sitting outside at the property, finding sun almost all day. Our pet was also made to feel welcome. We fell in love with the area and the location so close to the coast was

Post Office Cottage is a stone fronted dwelling in the small community of Trefasser, located within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and at the foot of Garn Fawr on the Pen Caer (Strumble Head) peninsula.

This delightful location provides a great getaway for a couple looking for a quiet stay near the coast path with plenty of walking and beach opportunities nearby.

The cottage has lots of character with stone walls, slate floors and wooden beams. The open plan living area includes comfortable seating and a well- equipped kitchen. The shower room and toilet is on the ground floor.Upstairs the spacious bedroom, with double bed, is light and airy.

From the cottage and garden you will enjoy amazing views of the pre-historic Iron Age fort, rocky outcrops and distant views of St David’s Head and the Irish Sea.

The Pembrokeshire coast path is just half a mile from the cottage. The Strumble Head Shuttle bus also passes the house and gives the opportunity to access the path at different points. If you fancy a circular walk from the house there are many well maintained footpaths and bridleways in this ancient landscape.

Nearby Abermawr beach offers the chance to swim and surf, while Goodwick and Fishguard Lower Town are favourite spots for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding.

There is so much to see and do in North Pembrokeshire and here is just a taste.

Goodwick, with facilities such a Tesco Express, post office, laundrette, pubs and cafes is only three miles down the road.

In the neighbouring ‘twin town’ of Fishguard, famous for the Last Invasion in 1797 you can see the Last Invasion Tapestry which tells the story of local heroine Jemima Nicholas and visit the Royal Oak Inn where the peace treaty was signed.

Walk down to Lower Town, a delightful harbour, with its fishing boats and yachts.

Maybe take a guided boat trip around Strumble Head. Further afield you could visit the Blue Lagoon and its turquoise waters and further on to St David’s to see the cathedral and ruins of the Bishops Palace.
