  • "The house was lovely and had everything we needed."

It was a great location too, right in the middle of town. Parking was easy on the road outside. I would definitely recommend this house.

  • "House is lovely beautifully decorated and equipped."

We have stayed in many houses over the years in Southwold and this rates in the top 3. Excellent position for beach and town. Well equipped kitchen. Beds comfortable and large. Courtyard garden perfect for an early morning coffee. Would return without question.

  • "Perfect choice and location for a big three generational family holiday, close to the beach and town allowing for quick trips back to house as needed."

Booked Heron House as it gave the perfect combination for our requirements. A separate floor for our son, daughter in law and two young grandson’s and then a separate room and en-suite for our other son and his girlfriend. Big bonus being our eldest grandson adored being able to see the lighthouse from his bedroom window! Much care and attention has been given to ensuring everything you could need is available throughout the house. Hope to return.

  • "Fabulous location for our group of 8 friends who were in Southwold for a big bike ride."

Kitchen was big enough for us all to prepare food at the same time with plenty of space to sit and relax

  • "We loved Heron House, it is a really beautiful house with great facilities and is in a fantastic position for easy access to the town and the beach."

It was beautifully furnished and very well equipped, especially the kitchen. We particularly loved the bed linen and white, soft fluffy towels. The book of instructions and information is one of the best we have come across. There was a problem with a blocked drain which meant the dishwasher wouldn't work properly, but we reported this and the next day a charming young man came and sorted it all out. We were very impressed.

  • "A very good property in a great position."

Very comfortable and easy to relax in. Cleaning generally good but details missed (eg shelves in kitchen dusty, table mats not clean). Some maintenance issues, manageable but unsatisfactory (eg kettle leaks, oven thermostat faulty). Street parking: always able to park in sight of house, visiting in September, but might be a bit unpredictable on busy days.

  • "Very nice property, close to the beach."

Down side is the parking, especially as we had 2 cars with us. Also greasy finger marks on the kitchen units. Bedrooms good. The outside is disappointing. I think the term ‘patio’ is a misnomer….. I’d call it a back yard. 4 chairs going rusty and a minuscule table.

  • "We were staying with two other couples who are well travelled and have very high expectations so it was a bit nerve wracking for me but I needn't have worried - they were all very impressed with every aspect of the property."

The location was exceptional of course but the standard of fixtures and fittings, cleanliness and the overall ambience of the property together made for a very special holiday. Nothing but compliments from us! Thank you for allowing us to share your home.
