The house has amazing views and is within walking distance of much that Southwold has to offer, the addition of onsite parking is a bonus. We received a prompt response to our question regarding entry to the property from the team at Best of Suffolk and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them

  • "We had a lovely family stay at Pebbles."

A few things that would that need attending to. First being the kettle in the kitchen. It needs to be changed and then descaled more often. Secondly, the upstairs bedrooms could do with fans. We had children upstairs and didn't want them to sleep with the window open, and it was too hot. Also, the downstairs shower just floods. Personally, I think it needs changing to a proper shower cubical. The shower mat got soaked every time. It wasn't nice! Saying all that as a family we really enjoyed the Living space inside and the garden. We are 3 generations and it worked for us. We have already booked next for next year!

  • "Overall a lovely place but we have a few maintenance comments: No hot water in shower in twin room."

Loose hook in shower room in other upstairs bedroom. Loose headboards in twin room. Low, large lightshade above a high bed in front downstairs bedroom. Handheld shower head would be helpful in rear downstairs bedroom. Duvets all 13.5 tog, too much for Summer months. Sofa covers seemed a little shabby for a classy property. Loose brickwork in back garden, potentially a hazard. Thank you

I agreed with the review of Patricia Jun 24 and would like to add that the kettle needs replacing as using for drinks was not pleasant and used the saucepan to make drinks. The upper bedroom toilet roll holder needs repairing. If the owners are remote and use a gardening maintenance company then they need to be reviewed as entrance from the back is very run down and gives a negative first impression. Extra bin bags and remote control batteries would be helpful.

  • "Amazing property and fab location."

We brought 3 elderly relatives away for a break. Couldn’t have suited us better. The layout and facilities were great. We would use again but do have a few pointers if you don’t mind. Having had a holiday property ourselves, we know the hard work that goes with into a holiday property and the trust that goes into the people who you employ to look after it. Generally the property is great, lots of lovely touches and quality furniture and comfy beds! However there are a couple of tired areas. The back garden was looking very sad. Very tall nettles and weeds, none of the flowers had been dead headed or really looked after. Also the low brick flower bed is all falling apart and could case a hazard. The front looked good but it’s mostly lawn anyway, so easy to maintain. In the kitchen the baking trays were all rusty. And some pots and pans could do with being replaced. A knife sharpener and a standard potato masher would be good to add. Th ceiling in the lounge/ kitchen needs attention as there’s clearly been or still is a leak from upstairs or the flat roof? The pillows are very bulky and hard, a few of different softness would be good for a choice. Lovely towels but they are so thick and don’t absorb, so you still feel damp after a shower. Maybe don’t use softener in the wash? It would be nice to have some beach chairs available in the garage to be able to use on the beach. I hope the points above are helpful. Whilst I have pointed these out we really cannot thank you enough for making your lovely home available. We had a lovely stay, that, for us, would just be enhanced by the few points above. Many thanks we will be back and have already recommended your property to friends.

All ensuite, everything and more that you need in the kitchen and even coffee beans for the coffee machine. Not forgetting the view of the sea and pier.

  • "We loved our stay even with the mixed weather."

The sitting area overlooking the garden, sea and pier was stylish and comfortable. It was a short distance into Southwold with all the amenities. The bedrooms were all beautifully presented and also comfortable. The kitchen had everything and more than we needed and the dining area was tucked away overlooking the rear garden. I have two suggestions for the owner, firstly an extra comfy chair in the lounge area would be handy especially if 8 guests were staying and secondly some low level fencing where there are gaps in the foliage hedge. I felt the photographs represented the property. We had an issue as the hot water ran out, someone came around to assist us within 10 minutes and sorted the problem , which we really appreciated.

Loved every minute, we had 2 minature dogs and a cocker, after reading the instructions, we understood, the dogs loved the garden, the lounge window was a view to the world, luxurious accommodation for my family to celebrate my 50th, we have stayed in a lot of big houses for 8, but this was the best, a real wow when we arrived

  • "Despite saying this was pet friendly we found the property not ideal for dogs."

The garden is not secure enough and the fences are too low allowing our dog to escape on several occasions. Ideally the rear garden needs sealing off either side so as to be able to keep a dog contained in within an area. We also felt that ideally a separate room for mucky dogs such as a utility room as when the weather is inclement it's difficult to try to keep the house clean. I'd also suggest although the owners choice seagrass rugs aren't ideal as they're very difficult to clean especially if your dog becomes unwell. The only other point is that the patio slabs at the rear of the property when wet are quite slippery.

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback. We do not advertise the property as having a ‘secure garden’, as we cannot guarantee this. Dogs come in all shapes and sizes, some being able to squeeze through the smallest gaps and others leap over high fences. We do have fences but ask that owners watch their pets. We do not have a utility room (and nor do we advertise as having one). Regarding the rugs, we have now had all three rugs replaced (after your dogs were very unwell) and do hope that they are feeling better. We would always advise guests whose pets become extremely unwell to limit them to one room and or seek medical attention if necessary. The patio steps are cleaned often, however with the weather in January, they can become slippery. We thank you for your feedback and hope you had an enjoyable stay at Pebbles. Property Owner

  • "We have noticed Pebbles on many visits to Southwold over the years."

. Myself and my partner work in property and design and once again over the years I have always commented on how the lounge and its interior design stood out.. This year we got the chance to see Pebbles upfront and inside even though the interior design has been slightly watered down for the purpose of rental the property worked well for our elderly parents, grown-up children and of course ourselves. We appreciated the Christmas look the owners put together, unplanned were the ships anchored out at sea for the Christmas period which added to the Christmas lights feel. The property was very well appointed with pots and pans of all sizes, glasses by the abundance and the same with plates, knifes, forks.. The bedrooms had great beds, linen and pillows to suit everyone, in shorty everything was perfect for our stay. The only purchase I would recommend is some new table mats for the dining table. Many thanks for such a great stay, we hope to back Kind Regards David & Jules
