  • "This cottage was lovely, snug and comfortable."

It was very clean and had everything we needed for our holiday. The garden was fully enclosed, so just perfect for our dog, as the property is set back from a very busy road. The pub does very nice meals. The cottage is in a good position and enabled us to see Bexhill on Sea, Hastings, Rye and Camber Sands, Burling Gap and Seven Sisters Country park plus a few national trust properties such as Chartwell and Scotney. All in All a very good week

  • "Really enjoyed our stay at White Hart Stables."

Really well equipped, everything you could want for your stay. Shop with post office facilities and bus stop 30m away. Dog friendly. Two big tvs, one in lounge one in bedroom with sky. Good rainfall shower, big fridge freezer, fully enclosed (by new fencing) back garden with furniture however, could do with tidying up to bring it in line with the rest of the property. Bed very soft with dips really could do with a new mattress. The pub next door own the cottage and I must say it's a great little local pub, really well looked after and the staff are all fantastic, a really slick team, the food is great with decent portions and prices. We ate there three times and enjoyed it every time. They have a lovely sunny little garden out the front too. Really great location for exploring Sussex and surrounding areas. On the 1066 walking route.

  • "My week at the White Hart Stables (just me and my dog) was fabulous."

The property is lovely, immaculately clean and well furnished. It has a nice double walk in shower and a very comfy bed. It is clean, nicely decorated, cosy and had everything you need including a parking space in front. The french windows open into the secure/private garden, where you can sit and relax with horses nearby. One of the very best things about White Hart Stables is the White Hart pub next door. Lovely traditional pub with a friendly landlord and staff, the food was outstanding (yummy Sunday roast), I ended up eating there four times and each time the food was delicious and good value for money. It is also nice to see a pub so popular with regulars and diners. I had a lovely week and highly recommend White Hart Stables and The White Hart Pub next door.

  • "Lovely comfortable cottage in a perfect location."

Shop and pub nearby and part of the 1066 Country Walk right on our doorstep. We had a fabulous week stay and had lovely weather so was also able to use the garden which is safe and enclosed for our two dogs. A couple of suggestions that could make future guests stay a little better. A mirror in the bedroom would be great. Hairdryer provided in dressing table, but no mirror to do my hair or make up and the lead would not reach to use in the bathroom mirror. Also 13.5tog on bed. We had a hot week so perhaps a lighter quilt in the summer months. We had to take the quilt off and use a throw over the quilt cover. These things did not impact on our stay. We are already looking to book again and return and would highly recommend to friends and family.

  • "A great place to stay, so close to the 1066 walk - if only the weather had been a little cooler!"

Easy access to many attractions in East Sussex. The added bonus of eating and drinking at the pub. Parking a little tight - it was easier to use the back gate for access particularly with a large dog. Specifically for me, I found the key box set too high which was a problem!

Even though the cottage is next to the White Hart Inns beer garden there is very little noise. The staff of the inn even offer to deliver booked food from their fantastic resturant. It's not over priced and very dog friendly. It's a real old fashioned country village pub the centr of the community . The cottage ideally situated between Battle (1066 etc) 3 miles and Bexhill 5 miles. A lovely stay.

All requirements were met. The facilities were also first class. Was able to get into the accommodation before our check in which was very good. Also it was situated right next door to a pub, so no driving in the evenings which was also a bonus. Our dog was very safe as the garden was enclosed. The only downside for me was to find our on their arrival the bath had been replaced with a walk in shower - although lovely, it wasn't what i expected for them. We found it small and would suggest it needs to be changed to a kingsize bed. The pub next door was really lovely, We were given a very warm welcome and we enjoyed all our meals except on the first night my husbands steak & Kideny pudding was served ice cold. This was soon put right. Curry night on Monday was a really good deal and great curry. The staff were all, without exception, very friendly and helpful. On the first night my husband reported the TV in the bedroom wasn't working because the aerial was missing plus the cooker hood was filthy. Neither of these was corrected. The shower attachment on the wall is loose and needs attention. I notice from other feedback the garden needs attention. We agree it is full of weeds and no flowers. My final comment would be that this lovely cottage is by a busy main road during the week and traffic noise woke us both around 6am. We read all the previous comments before we booked and this was not mentioned. Had it been mentioned I am afraid we would not have booked it,
