  • "Very spacious, quiet and relaxing, good base for nearby attractions and days out."

Beaulieu National Motor Museum, Mottisfont and the New Forest national park only a short drive away. Enjoyed a few frames of snooker, although my game didn't improve to professional level in the weeks stay! Thanks Roger :-)

We had a good time but the property does need a good clean presentation not very good, towels left in a pile by the boiler not sure if they were clean or not. Apart from the cleanliness issues it is a great place for celebrations lots of space.

  • "Everything was as expected and any comments seem like I am nitpicking (I probably am), but feel they should be mentioned."

Cheap and easy to fix, but some furniture really needs replacing. A drawer front fell off in one of the bedrooms, the chairs at the dining table have seen better days.....several were missing backs. I'm not sure if there's a knack to it, but we struggled to close the blinds on the skylights so left them closed once we'd managed it. We loved the quirkiness and it brought back many memories from childhood.......loved that there were many original features still in the building from the pulpit, to the hymn book and bible. Whilst I appreciate it is an old building, it would benefit from some high level cleaning as there were lots of cobwebs, though not sure how you go about this. The games room was a BIG hit, the piano and table tennis in particular though may be worth getting a piano tuner in. Beds were comfy, HUGE plus points there. Also, may not mean much to many, but I absolutely loved the well equipped kitchen, especially having sharp knives, a good sized oven, and plenty of cookware. There's not a garden or any outdoor area to speak of but that wasn't a problem for us - the games room made up for this, as well as the park/tennis courts across the road. We did need to contact Roger at one point but can't fault the communication, he replied and was brilliant. If you're looking for base that is quirky, has plenty of space, and a games room to keep the teens happy, this is definitely the place for you. We had a great week, thank you!

Vacuum cleaners did not smell nice. A second toilet would have been nice. We liked the space, the character and the snooker table, table football and table tennis. Really nice location and the pub close at hand; neighbours were very nice.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The living space is big enough for 20 and the games room just wonderful. Bedrooms and warm and comfortable. Would definately recommend. We did have a small issue with the heating but the owner was extremely apologetic and responded immediately to resolve the problem. All in all a wonderful weekend away with friends. Thank you.

  • "The Methodist Chapel is an excellent base - convenient for New Forest, Salisbury and much of Hants and Wilts."

The ground floor layout is very spacious with an excellent games room and plenty of seating. The indoor table tennis, table football and full sized snooker table were real winners. Our group of 4 adults and three children had lots of space to relax, never feeling on top of each other and the WiFi was good, coping with multiple devices as well as TV’s running Netflix etc. Large wooden table to sit around for eating and games. The quiet village has a well equipped shop and an even better play area just across from the Chapel complete with tennis courts and skate park. The sleeping area is as advertised and is more basic compared with the rest of this well equipped holiday accommodation- there is no water to the upper floor where they are located so no toilets / en-suite. The beds are however comfortable so this was not a major issue. Would we recommend The Methodist Chapel? Yes, easy to book, owners easily contactable, stay was excellent.

It would have been nice to have an upstairs toilet, although we knew it wouldn't. The information was good, and the games room was a bonus. The village shop was well equipped, the croissants and artisan bread were really nice. The Kings Head was a very good pub, that we frequented regularly.

  • "Roger the owner was very friendly and helpful throughout the process."

Clearly the previous guests had a really good time as the bottle and recycle bins were full to overflowing; unfortunately this meant that some items we could have recycled were put in the general waste. Whilst the overall cleanliness was acceptable, there were areas in the kitchen and various surfaces that were sticky which we cleaned ourselves. Likewise over time previous guests have failed to clean the grill pan properly, and despite some aggressive scrubbing I couldn't remove the residue build up. We lined the bottom with foil every time before use. Other than the above, I would suggest a further indoor toilet for larger parties would be a good thing. On the positive side, the chapel is a large and homely place to stay. The games room couldn't fail to provide amusement and we had a really good time. The pub around the corner was excellent and the village was really nice. As previously said Roger was really helpful and I thank him for allowing people to use this quirky accommodation. I wish him all the best in these troubled times.

gave us a unique holiday experience, it’s awesome games room and ample space allowed everyone to fully enjoy the holiday. Whiteparish is a beautiful village, and the Chapel is located right in the heart of the village. There are two excellent pubs and well stocked village shop. I find it very difficult to find fault with this holiday opportunity. So we will be returning next year.

Well equipped for self catering, and for entertaining two boys , aged 10 and 13 years. The "games room " is perfect for snooker, table tennis , and playing guitar ( loudly!), or just relaxing . The beds are very comfortable, unlike many in holiday lets. There was a slight problem with the shower temperature; the owner arranged for the pleasant, efficient plumber to fix it almost immediately ( and this was during a holiday weekend ) The owner was easily contactable and reassuring. Nothing was too much trouble, and he remained good humoured throughout our communications. We would definitely book there again, if possible .

Our first visit here. We stayed 4 nights here with 6 children. As soon as we walked in it felt warm and cosy. The place was clean with a big games room which had a full size snooker table and table tennis table which entertained everyone.Lots of books to read and a big DVD collection. Lots of space for everyone to do what they want. The local shop was just around the corner and had all the basics you need. Only half hour drive to Southampton to visit the solent sky museum which was interesting. No one wanted to leave when our time was up. No wifi connection but wasn't missed Would definitely come again. Recommended!

  • "The Chapel has a great location and seconds from a surprisingly well stocked village shop."

It was peaceful and easy parking. All communication was fantastic and the owner/key holder always replied promptly for any questions/issues. The internet is non existent as others have mentioned. I dont know if it is the chapel's internet or the area that struggles but if you are relying on internet, this is NOT the place. There is no outdoor area except the outside of the house where there is a bench and some chairs which sufficed but for pets or outdoor eating, this is not the place either. The star of the Chapel is the huge games room and the huge kitchen diner lounge with its fantastic long wooden table. This is a basic house with huge amounts of mix and match furniture/household items which made it feel a little like a Youth Hostel in the kindest possible way. We were a group of girls away for some R&R and it was perfect for us.

If you need or expect Wi-Fi however, forget it. At no point during our stay did we manage to get a connection on any of the devices we had with us. We also did not find this a particularly dog friendly property. Outside space is very limited (the patio is an exaggeration) and the village was not great on dog walking either. Overall this property is spacious and in a good location to explore Salisbury and the rest of Wiltshire, really let down on the communications front as we would not have booked it had we known there was no Wi-Fi.

We had very kindly been left milk and a very tasty loaf of bread. The kitchen / living space is huge and could easily have accommodated 2 families. The games room itself could have kept us occupied all weekend. There were just 2 small downsides, it would have been even better if there had been another inside toilet and the bedrooms are lacking storage. The pub just up the was fantastic, brilliant food at a very reasonable price. We loved the chapel and would definitely come back. Oh, the owner was also extremely helpful.
