"A very charming cottage."
Close to some lovely walks. With 2 great pubs close by. The welcome pack was welcoming.
-
"Lovely little cottage with off road parking."
Good working gas central heating and a open fire, (which takes some getting going) Hot water and showers very good, very fast. Mega comfortable bed . Easy to use washer and dryer. Microwave easy but can't comment on electric oven or smart TV as I didn't use them. Everything you could want is provided. Plus a gift of coffee and Yorkshire parkin , thank you. Would not hesitate to book again or recommend to anybody else. Good bus service into Ilkley and beond. Co op in village and a couple of pubs serving food. The Swans food is delicious! Book this cottage, you won't be disappointed!

"This holiday cottage was perefct."
The quality of furnishings, crockery and kitchen equipment was well above expectations and it’s not often you leave somewhere not looking forwards to a night in your own bed because of a mediocre mattress. The location was excellent especially for dog walkers, neighbours friendly and hosts welcoming.
-
"Lovely cosy little cottage, very clean and comfortable, everything provided for a wonderful few days away, bonus of good welcome pack as well."
Perfect position for good walks, just a few minutes from the DalesWay pathway. All we could have hoped for. Would recommend.
-

Stayed 3 nights with our dog. The cottage is within a short walk to the village & a short drive to Bolton Abbey estate or Ilkley. Friendly host & good communication

"Beautifully decorated and very cosy cottage with lovely view over the fields."
Felt right at home. And with gorgeous walks along the river and into the pretty village from the doorstep and a dog walking field just outside. Recommend it!

-
"A very good holiday property."
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Couldn't fault it, easy access and very good location.
-
"The location was great for exploring Wharfdale."
In fact we did 3 circular walks from a local guidebook directly from the cottage Off street parking was a bonus, as was being just a 10 minute walk from local shops and pubs for yummy meals. We had everything we needed but a modern smart tv would be a nice addition for long winter evenings.
-
"We arrived exhausted and left after a week feeling rested and restored."
Lovely host and the cottage suited us perfectly. The cottage is beautifully situated near the river Wharfe with access to many footpaths. A brilliant location for exploring the Dales area.
-
"Delightful property in a lovely location."
All amenities in the village a short walk away. Friendly and helpful hosts. We are repeat visitors and would highly recommend.
-
"On balance, the cottage was good value for money."
The location is delightful, and the cottage clean and cosy. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. The only disappointment was the absence of an internet connection to the smart TV, which meant we could not watch catch-up TV. Nevertheless, we would rent it again.
-
"Despite being rather unwell during my stay at Beacon Cottage, i appreciated the high standard of cleanliness, the immediate response by the property owner to my queries and the fact that nearly every essential was supplied."
As one who does not take kindly to any technical appliance I found the cooker rather bewildering and would have appreciated a microwave as a back up. My dog thought he had arrived in heaven and is requesting a return visit when I am in better health and can enjoy the surroundings more fully. A five star treat

"We had a really nice time despite the weather."
The house was lovely and clean and beds very comfortable too. The kitchen equipment is adequate too . The little arrival gift was a nice touch and the heating being on made a difference too as it was a cold wet day. I’ve only given four for maintenance as the bathroom door does need a lock and it would have been nice to have a smart tv, but that was just a minor thing and we used our laptop when we wanted to watch Netflix. The WiFi was good which was helpful. The pub around the corner (The Swan) serves really nice food at a reasonable price, and there are plenty of supermarkets to choose from. It’s an ideal base for walking or visiting nearby market towns. I’d book it again without hesitation.
-
"A beautiful cottage, very well equipped, with amazing views."
Lovely walks along the river and surrounding footpaths. The nearby village has great dog-friendly cafes and pubs. Bolton Abbey and the heritage railway are close by. The cottage owners made us very welcome, with some delicious local treats.
-
"We had a fantastic stay!"
The cottage is spacious, clean and fully equipped with everything you need. It’s super dog friendly with hard floors and a small enclosed yard a plenty of options for dog walks nearby. The location is ideal for walkers with easy access to paths along the river and the local village is a 5 minute walk away.

Liked that effort had been made to source many of the furnishings from the United kingdom through Beacon Designs. Good location and scenery, many great walks from the doorstep which we loved. Highly commendable.

"A delightful property in a lovely location."
The village centre is within easy walking distance as is the Dales way and river Wharfe. The cottage is furnished to a very high standard and although we booked in July, I would imagine that it would just as cosy in the winter months. Very friendly and helpful owners, who live close by. We would highly recommend and would defiantly book again.
-

The cottage is decorated well, furniture cozy and comfortable. You can feel the cottage is loved. There is amazing food within minutes walk and in the close by village. "We had a really good time at the cottage."
The cottage is beautifully and tastefully furnished and it had everything we needed. We were welcomed with a very generous and delicious welcome pack and the host was very helpful with queries, etc. We also appreciated the use of ecological products and the natural fibers pillows and duvets. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wishing to explore the area as it is close to many wonderful places. There are beautiful walks from the cottage, e.g. to the Bolton Abbey, along the river. We will definitely go back!

"The cottage is lovely, very clean with very nice furnishings."
location is great with just a small walk to the local co-op, addingham is a lovely village with lots of footpaths to explore. the only thing I would like to point out is that there is no furniture in the small yard at the back which is overlooked by the cottage next door so not private. never the less a great place to stay.
-

It was extremely comfortable and cosy. Thoroughly recommended. We will be looking to make another visit in the near future.

"What a wonderfully relaxing couple of weeks in beautiful Beacon Cottage."
A fabulous little cottage that was the perfect haven. Just looking out of the windows at the sheep in the field directly opposite made all stress disappear. Great location, walking distance to local pubs. Had some lovely meals in the dog friendly Swan pub. Comfy beds, warm and cosy, added bonus of an open fire. A lovely welcome pack of cake, tea and coffee was such a lovely touch. The owner was responsive to any queries we had and couldn’t of been of been more helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending Beacon Cottage.

"Beacon Cottage is a lovely place to spend a relaxing few days."
The cottage is beautifully decorated, warm and comfortable. On a quiet lane with convenient parking right outside. Calming views of farmland and sheep on both sides. Strolls along the River Wharfe at the bottom of the lane. Pubs in the village five minutes walk away, selling good food and beer. Within easy reach by car of Skipton, Ilkley, Bolton Abbey, The Dales, Harrogate, Salts Mill, Haworth, etc. Zoe was discreet but attentive to our needs.

"We loved everything about this cottage."
I loved where this cottage was. I hadn't realised it was so close to the River Wharfe. The scenery was stunning, as was the cottage. The moment I walked into it I felt calm and relaxed and this feeling lasted all week. The furnishings have been so well thought out and I am planning a repeat visit with my mum in October. We all thought we would love to revisit next summer for a week.

"The cottage was above all expectations the location idyllic, Addingham a gem of a village for dogs and humans."
Located close to so many places of Interest and a stone's throw from our favourite Bolton Abbey. Most importantly were our hosts generous and accomodating from log provision, biscuits, coffee, tea and sloe gin!! Neighbours to the cottage were very friendly which helped create a welcoming atmosphere. Best part the log fire on an evening. Thank you we will be back!
-

We would certainly go back.
-
"There is a little bit of confusion as to which is "Beacon Cottage", as the property only has a No."
on the door and, in fact, the property is right at the start of "High Mill Lane", very close to it's junction with the B6160. Can't really complain about Heating provision, as their was full central heating (not actual needed this May) and provision to light a Log fire. Just in between, it would have been useful to have a "local" heat source, such as a blower heater, for the odd evening when it did go a bit cooler, particularly as the Cottage has very substantial stone walls. Thank-you for the Cake and Biscuits which were both very nice and a lovely setting here in Addingham.
-
"The cottage was tastefully decorated, and cosy, with its log fire."
The location was excellent. We had fantastic walks from the doorstep. We could walk into the village in 10 mins, where there was a Co Op, which was open till late in the evening. Plus, several pub's. Within a 10 mins drive, there were 2 fairly big market towns, plus drives up the Moors, Dales, steam railway, and an Abbey. What more could you want? Very happy.

About the location
ADDINGHAM
Bolton Abbey 3 miles; Ilkley 3 miles; Skipton 4 miles.
The historic village of Addingham nestles in the valley of the River Wharfe between Ilkley and Skipton, just 3 miles from the Dales National Park at Bolton Abbey. In the Doomsday Book, Addingham is referred to as 'Ediham', which probably meant 'Home of Edi', the Earl Edwin of Bolton Abbey. A corn mill was mentioned in 1315, near where High Mill is today, and the weir across the river is one of the oldest medieval structures in the village. Today's village is a thriving, small community with several good pubs serving fine ale and excellent food, a scattering of small shops and a delightful golf course surrounded by breathtaking countryside. Nearby Bolton Abbey is one of the region's most scenic areas and the walk along the river to the 'Strid' is a must. The Victorian Spa town of Ilkley is worth a visit, with its wide streets, world-famous Box Tree Restaurant and Bettys Tea Rooms, while Ilkley Moor is the subject of Yorkshire's unofficial anthem “On Ilkla Moor Baht at”. Grassington and Malham are within reach, plus Skipton is also close by with its ancient castle, beautiful old parish church, colourful street market, canal trips and Embsay Steam Railway.
