"Truly delightful property."
Owner Ady was there to greet and give us information about the property, local facilities and surrounding area. She also provided a wonderful wlcome pack. Only drawback is that the locality could be a little challenging for less active. But Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd are a short drive away and there's a local bus into Halifax. All in all, a lovely stay.

"The accommodation was certainly in a most beautiful area with stunning views."
Though we found the Cottage in the Sky to be comfortable, I did find the staircase rather steep. The owner was at the cottage when we arrived, and she was very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our stay there.

"Great property, loved tea and coffee making facilities upstairs as the stairs ..."
Great property, loved tea and coffee making facilities upstairs as the stairs were steep and narrow as the nature of the house and would have been tricky bringing up hot drinks

"Lovely cosy cottage with views over village and surrounding countryside."
Nice and quiet yet very close to village and very short walk to pub. A Morrisons express shop a mere 10 to 15 minutes walk away or couple of minutes drive. Many walks on your doorstep.

"Great cottage, nice and cosy with a big comfortable bed."
We were already familiar with the area but if you're not it's a lovely village with loads of walks on the doorstep. Easy access to Halifax and Hebden Bridge either by car or public transport. Jerusalem Farm lovely for walking in the woods and exploring the river then a great selection of homemade cakes at Bob's cafe.
Thank you so much for your kind comments as well as useful information about the area. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay Property Owner

She provided everything that we could possibly need. The bed was super comfortable. The only negative was the shower was a little tricky. We would have no hesitation in recommending.

"The cottage was very clean and cosy."
The bed was lovely and comfy.unfortunately I struggled with the steep stairs and the roadside parking could be an issued which is a shame as the views are spectacular. The rusty shower hose and shower head could do with replacing. So I'm sorry but this cottage is not for us.

"A nice little cottage."
Would have been better if the visior info in the cottage re pubs, restaurants etc was upto date. Some of it was 5 yrs out of date.

"Mr Strobel was pain in the but."
He wanted a chat on entry and a list of do's and dont's Signs in the downstairs property about animal pea and the gate. It was obsticle course to get me dog to the road. I had to go through downstairs garden. No room for my dog stretch about apart from the balcony. In future I will be selecting cottage that do not require a chat on entry. I paid a lot of money for stays. Oh the hot water wouldnt work in the bathroom. I got a reply 'DID YOU TRY BOTH TOGETHER@ What sort of chat is that. I expect to be treated better than that.

"A lovely cottage with everything we needed for a great holiday - very comfortable and well-equipped, with lots of local information about walks and places to visit."
Great views over a beautiful area and also a welcoming basket of sweet treats from the very friendly owners, which was much appreciated. Handy location for Hebden Bridge, with a good bus service along the main road below Luddenden if you want to leave the car at the cottage. Highly recommended all round.
-
"The Cottage is in an amazing location with lovely views across the valley."
The owners were wonderful in their introduction to all its facilities and in leaving some amazing goodies for us and our dog to enjoy. We loved it. Highly recommend.
-

Wonderful views and a beautiful area to walk around.

"Our second say here, Adie and Mick could not have been more helpful, very relaxing, great cottage and great location."
-
"Excellent location."
Great for missing the long standing traffic jam into Hebden Bridge. The hosts could not have been more welcoming - a surprise welcome gift as well, much needed after a 210 mile drive.
-
"This isn’t just dog friendly - the owners go out of their way to give your dog a holiday too."
Very well maintained property. Shame the local pub doesn’t serve food in the evening at the weekend.
-
"Enjoyed a break over New Year in this cosy cottage."
We were welcomed by the friendly owners, who helped us with our luggage and described how everything worked. There even a surprise gift basket full of goodies, for both ourselves and our dog. Nice walks in the area, a friendly local pub a few minutes walk, the Lord Nelson, where we and our dog were made most welcome and spent a very enjoyable New Year's Eve, We used the nearby bus service to Halifax and visited the recently renovated Piece Hall. It has lots of interesting little shops within its walls. Also within its walls, upstairs, we found a little gem, G's Cakes, a cosy cafe where we and our dog were made very welcome and serves cakes to die for!! Overall we had a very enjoyable break and will certainly stay at the Cottage in the Sky again.

"Lovely cottage - perfect for me and the dog."
Very comfortable...only thing I'd change would be the sofa which is a bit firm but everything else excellent. The location is amazing...views and walks - we just set off and followed our noses. The local people were so friendly and the cottage owners were great and left a fab welcome hamper. Five stars from me and an appreciative woof from Ellie.
-
"This is an amazing little cottage with the most beautiful views."
The owners had done everything possible to make sure our stay was perfect. We had snow on the second day which just added to the excitement. The cottage is warm, cosy and welcoming - will definitely be back.

"Location wonderful for dog walking"

Beautiful location and accessible by public transport so we could walk and then get a bus when required, we did not use the car during our stay. Tranquil and peaceful ideal for a relaxing break.

About the location
LUDDENDEN
Hebden Bridge 4 miles; Halifax 5 miles.
Luddenden is a conservation village in Calderdale, close to Hebden Bridge. The community is first mentioned in 1284, and in 1375 a corn mill was moved from Warley Town to exploit the Luddenden Brook. Nearby, the attractive town of Hebden Bridge is the home to the picturesque Rochdale Canal and a delightful Victorian railway station. The town of Mytholmroyd is an easy drive away, the birthplace of Poet Laureate Ted Hughes, and famous for the Cragg Vale Coiners. This is excellent walking country, with the National Trust Hardcastle Crags and the Pennine Way, plus the area hosted the Tour De France in 2014. Enjoy scenic drives and cycling across the moors, whilst nearby Haworth boasts the Parsonage Museum commemorating the famous Bronte family who lived there. The area is also a must for steam railway enthusiasts who will enjoy the thriving Worth Valley Railway, whilst the highly-acclaimed Eureka Museum in Halifax is noted for its unique Piece Hall and its Victorian architecture.
