Parr Cottage is a beautifully-presented holiday cottage situated in the quaint village of Snape near Bedale, North Yorkshire.

Offering a peaceful escape for guests seeking to explore the nearby national parks, this abode is perfect for families, friends, and couples looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the North Yorkshire countryside.

Drive along the stunning tree-lined road into Snape village until you reach Parr Cottage.

Be greeted by a wonderful, homely interior with a well-equipped kitchen/diner, where you can prepare and enjoy delicious meals with your loved ones.

After a day of exploring the area relax in the inviting sitting room, complete with an electric fire for those cooler evenings.

When sleep calls retreat to either a ground-floor double or a first-floor twin, both boasting en-suite shower rooms.

Those lucky to get the first-floor twin room will be able to wake up every morning to stunning views of the sun rising above the castle.

Outside, the enclosed front patio is the perfect spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or a relaxing evening drink.

Explore the Village well known for local farm shop and fishmongers, a quaint village with a Beck running through full of flowers all year round.

Just on your doorstep lies Snape Castle, now privately owned, the former residence of Katherine Parr before her marriage to Henry VIII.

Access to the chapel is available for visitor and easily accessed from the main main courtyard.

Venture into Bedale to visit The Big Sheep & Little Cow, test your skills at Bedale Golf Club, or indulge in some local treats at the handful of eateries and cafes.

For a dose of history and stunning scenery, head to Richmond to explore Richmond Castle, witness the beauty of Richmond Falls, and take a relaxing stroll through Friary Gardens.

Take a stroll to Thorp Perrow Arboretum and Bird of Prey & Mammal Centre is a must-see attraction, where you can explore a diverse collection of trees and plants, as well as admire majestic birds of prey and learn about various mammals.

BEDALE

Northallerton 8.9 miles; Wensleydale 14.5 miles; Darlington 20.9 miles.

The small market town of Bedale is steeped in history, some of which can be found in the local museum. The town also offers a weekly market on a Tuesday, interesting churches, various craft and antique shops (notably Red House), cafes, and pubs, which provide local beers and home cooked food. There are many lovely walks for all abilities in this beautiful area, as well as delightful villages to explore. Within easy reach are many other attractions, including the Constable Burton Hall Gardens with extensive parkland and woodland walks, and Jervaulx Abbey, with its tearooms and Brymor Ice Cream, is only a 10 minute drive away. Gardeners will enjoy the Thorp Perrow Arboretum, which also offers falconry displays, plus don't miss the weird and wonderful Forbidden Corner near Middleham! Ideally placed for exploring all of Wensleydale, Swaledale and Wharfedale, and the magical city of York, less than an hour away.
