Brockhole Visitor Centre
There’s plenty to do at Brockhole Visitor Centre, come rain or shine. Set on the shores of Windermere and boasting spectacular grounds, Brockhole is a great place for a walk or some wildlife spotting.
Within the gardens you’ll find wildflower meadows, herbaceous borders, shrub roses, Rhododendrons, Wisteria and Magnolias, making it a riot of colour over the warmer months. There is also a kitchen garden, providing goods to the Brockhole Café.
The Arts & Craft era Brockhole House is home to a gift shop packed with local goodies, an art gallery, café, and restaurant.
Brockhole also houses the Story of the Lake District exhibition. Here you’ll learn about how the beautiful landscape was formed millions of years ago, and how people have sculpted it since then. You can also read about how the Lake District National Park became a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and view dioramas exhibiting flora and fauna from the Lake District.
Have little ones in tow? Brockhole offers plenty of activities for children. You can follow the Woodland Faerie Trail, play mini golf, discover the adventure playground, or drive mini tractors.
A fun-filled day out awaits at Brockhole Visitor Centre…
