A very popular short walk in Scotland, the Lock an Eilein walk is one not to be missed. Sitting just outside of Aviemore, this route walks you around the waters, letting you observe the wonder of Loch an Eilein castle, dating all the way back to the 13th century.
See if you can spot nature amidst the Rothiemurchus Forest, with red squirrels and Scottish crossbills being regular residents.
This walk is a firm favourite with canine companions too, with plenty of woodland areas to explore, also making a great picnic spot – it was in fact voted Britain’s Best Picnic Spot!
