Northumberlandia

Affectionately referred to as ‘the Lady of the North’, Northumberlandia is a magnificent human landform sculpture in Cramlington. The reclining lady stands at 100 feet tall and a quarter-mile long, made up of 1.5 million tonnes of rock, clay, and soil from the Shotton Surface Mine.

Northumberlandia

This landmark feature was developed by world-renowned artist Charles Jencks and explores the earth’s natural force, as well as the potential that humans have to shape terrain into something spectacular. Northumberlandia serves as the centrepiece of a country park with breathtaking vistas of the Northumberland countryside.

Today, the property has a Visitor Centre with a small café that is open every day from 10:00 to 17:00. Throughout the year, visitors can enjoy a woodland walk, animal interpretation boards, a bird-feeding station, and a variety of activities.

There’s even parking available at Northumberlandia, making it accessible from all around the UK.
