Rheilffordd Talyllyn Railway
Climb aboard the Rheilffordd Talyllyn Railway and journey through time. Dating back to the 1800s, when the railway was built to convey slate to the east, the railway is a must for history lovers.
You’ll travel through Pendre, Rhydyronen, Brynglas, Dolgoch and Abergynolwyn, passing stunning views as you go. Stop off along the way to make the most of the Dysynni Gorge and Castell y Bere walks at Abergynolwyn and riverside trails at Rhydryonen.
On arrival at Nant Gwernol, be sure to head to cascading waterfalls and follow the trail to the remains of the Bryn Eglwys Slate Quarry.
Start the journey the right way with breakfast at King’s Café, Tywyn Wharf Station or finish it in style with a cream tea at Quarryman’s Caban, Abergynolwyn. Both cafés offer hot and cold drinks, snacks, meals and a takeaway offering for those wishing to dine aboard the train.
A scenic ride awaits on the Rheilffordd Talyllyn Railway…
