Saltram House
Overlooking the River Plym, on the outskirts of Plymouth is Saltram House. The house was remodelled from an earlier mansion in 1743 to reflect the good fortunes of the new owners, the Parker family.
The house is luxuriously decorated with Chinse wallpapers and paintings by Sir Joshua Reynolds and features a superb library. Inside, visitors can learn all about the family, including their link to Jane Austen.
The 19th century garden houses an 18th century orangery with follies, beautiful shrubbery and trees. The surrounding 500-acre parkland incorporates farmland, beaches, saltmarshes, meadows, woodland and an estuary for visitors to explore.
Come to Saltram House for a day of history and stunning, parkland sights…
