St Michael’s Old Church
This 14th charming century church served Betws-y-Coed until 1873, when the Church of St Mary was opened in the centre of the village. The church fell into disrepair until the Friends of St Michael’s formed in the 1990s and worked to raise money for its repair.
The church has much for visitors to see including a stone effigy of Gruffydd ap Dafydd Goch, grandson of Dafydd, the brother of Llwelyn the last native prince of wales. St Michael’s also features two painted wooden boards, one on either side of the altar, which have the Lord’s Prayer and the Apostles Creed in Welsh.
St Michael’s holds select services and other events and is open daily for visitors.
