Stagshaw Gardens
Stagshaw Gardens is a woodland garden of around eight acres. Here you’ll find fine collections of rhododendrons and azaleas, ericaceous trees and shrubs, including magnolias, camellias and embothrium.
Half of the gardens sit on a very steep hillside with a woodland beck and small waterfalls cascading down it. From the top of the hillside, you can take in fantastic views of Windermere.
The focus of the garden is on Spring flowers and shrubs, with over 3,000 azaleas and rhododendrons dotted through the site. The lower section of the gardens features snowdrops, bluebells, and daffodils.
From the gardens, there are plenty of walks through the nearby Skelghyll Woods and the Lakelands fells beyond.
