The Heritage Steam Experience
Climb aboard the Snowdon Lily or Snowdon Mountain Goat and journey to the summit of Snowdon. Both carriages are recreations of the original 1896 coaches and feature the original chassis. Pushed by an original Swiss steam locomotive that has been operating since 1896, you’ll get an authentic taste of travel in the Victorian era – with the addition of some modern comforts!
The trip is two and a half hours long, with a 30-minute stopover at the summit ensuring you have plenty of time to soak up the breath-taking views from the top. Large windows also mean you’ll have plenty of chances to spot wildlife and stunning vistas as you go.
Before you set off, don’t miss the 15-minute film presentation on the history of the railway, including an original cartoon of ‘Ivor the Engine’. At Llanberis, where you’ll begin your journey, and the summit, you’ll find hot and cold refreshments as well as souvenirs and gifts.
