The Old Stamp House
The Old Stamp House is a Michelin Starred restaurant perched in the middle of Ambleside. The small but welcoming restaurant offers 28 covers, making for an intimate dining experience.
The restaurant not only offers gourmet dining but has fascinating, historic ties. It was once William Wordsworth’s office, where he distributed stamps for Westmorland.
Nowadays, visitors can come and enjoy delicious meals created by Ryan and Craig Blackburn. The dishes are not only inspired by the local area but enjoy ties to India, Caribbean and the Americas.
The restaurant offers two menus, the first being the lunch menu. A few memorable picks from this selection include Last Wolf beer bread, Yew Tree Farm Herdwick hogget and Grey Squirrel. The dinner menu also includes delicious crab, English Chanel Turbot and Arctic charr.
A carefully selected drinks menu is also on offer, featuring mouthwatering gin from the Lakes, to hearty, Cumbrian beers. The wine list features an array of tipples that have been matched to each dish on the food menus, too.
A unique and luxurious dining experience awaits at The Old Stamp House…
