The Ruskin Museum

There are several galleries to uncover at The Ruskin Museum, including The Coniston Gallery. Here, you’ll learn all about the local and geological history of the village.
There are displays featuring insights into lakeland Herdwick sheep farmers, rock climbers and the world’s biggest collection of Ruskin Lace.
The Bluebird Wing is another highlight, where you’ll learn all about the hydroplane. Its pilot, Donald Campbell CBE, was a much-loved member of the community; this is evident in the sheer care that has been put into the exhibit.
Don’t forget to explore The Ruskin Gallery. This exhibition delves into the life of writer John Ruskin. You’ll find out all about his time in the community of Coniston through his displayed belongings.
