Tregiffian Burial Chamber
Known as an entrance grave, Tregiffian is one of the earliest burial chambers of its kind in the South West of England.
Although part of the mound was levelled in the 1840s to make way for a new road, the tomb, which comprises an entrance corridor and a central chamber, remains mostly intact.
This type of tomb was often built with stone slabs laid edge-to-edge or rubble walls, with a stone slab roof.
When visiting Cornwall, you should take the time to explore the Tregiffian Burial Chamber, an intriguing and ancient Cornish feature well worth exploring.
