Trewavas Mine

Wheal Trewavas Mine, located unsteadily on towering cliffs, is a unique spot to explore. These massive engine houses rival the world-famous Crown Mines at Botallack on Cornwall’s North Coast.

Wheal Trewavas, like the Crown Mines, was previously noted for its perilous tunnels that stretched out from the shore beneath the seabed. However, because this mine is not on the tourist circuit, you are likely to have the location to yourself.

The current site is definitely worth a visit, however, caution is urged due to the dangerous position and the fact that the engine houses are in poor condition.
